Vadaj murder case: 2 arrested by Adalaj Police

A minor and a man identified as Mayank Rawat have been arrested by the Adalaj Police in connection with the murder of Mehul Rawat, 30. Rawat was stabbed to death by the two near Vadaj BRTS stand on Thursday. The two were nabbed following a tip off from Adalaj Crossroads while they tried to escape towards Mehsana. Both Mayank and Mehul's family had a long standing rivalry after the latter's uncle (Jayesh) stabbed an uncle (Jigar) of the former in 2014 over their liquor trade rivalry.

Following the incident, Mayank's family had threatened to avenge the murder. Cops said on Thursday the accused found Mehul alone and stabbed him.

JA Rathwa, Vadaj police station inspector said that three more people including one Narendra Rawat and Anand Rawat are wanted in the case. The third person as of now remains unidentified. Police are looking at the CCTV footages to know the identity of the third person.
