Chief minister Vijay Rupani said on Wednesday that it is the responsibility of government lawyers to establish people's faith in law.

Rupani made the comment at a programme organised to hand over appointment letters to 374 assistant public prosecutors.

He said that the state government was setting up courts at the taluka level, and was making available digital infrastructure to ensure affordable and quick justice for people.

"Government lawyers must do their best, and ensure that conviction rate goes up, and people benefit the most from the judicial system," the chief minister said.

In his address, minister of state for law and justice Pradipsinh Jadeja called upon the newly appointed assistant public prosecutors to work as ambassadors of the government.
