BJP National President Amit Shah urged workers in the cooperative sector to propagate BJP’s achievements and question Congress on what it had done for Gujarat. Shah was addressing ‘Sahkaar Sammelan’, a gathering of co-operative sector leaders, in Ahmedabad on Monday.

“What right does Congress have to seek details of what BJP has done for the state? You ask them what they have done for the state so far. The responsibility is yours now. If people of Gujarat ask, we will give them all the details,” Shah said to a gathering of close to 2,700 representations of the sector.

Shah said that the party will win at least 150 seats in the upcoming elections to the state Legislative Assembly to be held later in the year.

“Any state where elections have been held after 2014, Congress has lost. Now they are dreaming of coming to power in Gujarat,” he said.

As part of leveraging the cooperative sector for campaigning for the polls, a list of achievements will be sent to co-operative leaders at the district, taluka and grassroot levels. “Shankarbhai (Shankar Choudhary, Minister of State in Gujarat government) will send you the details,” said Shah.

Those present at the gathering include Dileep Sanghani, chairman of National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks; Jyotindra Mehta, chairman of Gujarat Urban Cooperative Banks Federation, Jethabhai Patel, Chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ramsinh Parmar, chairman of Kheda District Cooperative Milk Producers Union, popularly known as Amul Dairy, former deputy chief minister of state Narhari Amin, as well as representatives from Sugar Cooperatives in South Gujarat and APMCs.Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that  90 per cent of leaders in the cooperative sector were with the BJP. State BJP president Jitu Vaghani said that the sector had a network from the state level to the grass level and it would be used to influence voters to counter the Congress campaign.
