It is the worst nightmare that one can go through. Chandrika Makwan (27), a resident of Amraiwadi was waiting to be discharged from the LG Hospital after recovering from malaria, but she ended up in the ICU.

According to her brother Chandu Makwana, a nurse from the LG Hospital administered his sister with an injection which was actually meant for another 75-year-old patient in the ward by the same name.

On Tuesday, Chandu submitted an application against the hospital and its staff to the Maninagar police. Chandu has alleged that due to the negligence of the L.G hospital staff his older sister is in critical condition right now and battling for life.

Police said that on April 12, Chandrika was admitted in the general ward of LG hospital after she was diagnosed with malaria. Her treatment was going well and she was about to get discharged from the hospital on Tuesday when the incident took place.

Around 6.30 pm, while she was waiting to be discharged, a nurse came toward Chandrika and administered the injection. Chandrika even told the nurse that she was waiting to be discharged but the nurse said that she was carrying out the doctor's orders.

Within half an hour, Chandrika's condition deteriorated and she was rushed inside the ICU. SM Patel, inspector of Maninagar police station said that they have not lodged a complaint in the matter yet. "The superintendent of the hospital will inspect the matter and submit a report to us," Patel said.

During the investigation, if we find that there was negligence on the part of the hospital, we will surely lodge a complaint.
