Ahmedabad boy Ravi Makhija makes it to top 15 in NEET

Three from Gujarat have made it to top 50 All India Rank in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). The results of NEET 2019, which was the first ever medical entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) were declared on Wednesday afternoon.

While seven have made it to top 100 AIR, one from Ahmedabad has made it to top 15 AIR. Ravi Makhija, a resident of Sabarmati, has secured AIR 14. Aiming to take his interest and hobby to another level, Ravi, wanted to pursue a career in medicines. Ravi has a very keen interest in philosophy and reads books on deep thinking. Hence, he wants to specialize in brain functions. While he expected a rank below 50, AIR 14 was unexpected. "I had not expected this rank. I am overwhelmed. I want to become a neurologist as I want to take my interest to another level", he said.

Ravi, who is a student of HB Kapadia school, scored 98.4 percentile in Class 12 board exams. "My interest lies in cricket, music and understanding purpose of life. I am quite fascinated with how a brain controls our entire body.

Hence I want to become a neurologist." Ravi's father runs a shop while his mother is a homemaker.

For Harshvi Jobanputra who scored AIR 18, Ahmedabad was a new city. She moved to Ahmedabad from Vadodara only to study class 11 and 12. "Since I stayed in a hostel, I did not have a TV or any other activity to bust stress. To take a break while studying, I would either listen to music or paint or talk to my parents over the phone. Right now I have not decided any specialization yet."

Other toppers who made it to within AIR100 include Harshvi Jobanputra at AIR 18, Aman Agrawal at AIR 48, Shreya Gabani AIR 68, Shalin Patel AIR 83 and Changela Janki AIR 90 among others.
