The hosts have found their winning momentum and are currently on a 3-match winning streak. | Gujarat on the other hand finally got themselves going in this season with a win over Pune. They have a good record against Mumbai, getting the better of them on both the occasions they were pitted against each other. They will hope that they keep this record intact. | Gujarat shuffled their batting order quite a bit but Dinesh Karthik's breezy knock ensured that they go above 175. This total looks brilliant considering that the pitch was slightly difficult to bat on. There was help for the spinner as both Harbhajan and and Krunal Pandya bowled disciplined line and lengths to keep the flow of runs in check. The former got a wicket too! Barring Mitchell McClenaghan, all the other pacers were expensive and didn't play to their potential. |
| Early on in the innings, it was Brendon McCullum who slammed 64. He was a bit sluggish early on but once he got into his groove the Mumbai bowlers found it too difficult to stop him. Ishan Kishan, who was promoted ahead of Jason Roy, had a forgettable outing.
