0.0 : Hello and a warm welcome to the first of the two games being played today. It's the 16th match of this year's Indian T20 League between Mumbai and Gujarat. The hosts have found their winning momentum and are currently on a 3-match winning streak. They have got the perfect balance between the bowlers and batsmen and all the players are striking the right chord.
Gujarat on the other hand finally got themselves going in this season with a win over Pune. They have a good record against Mumbai, getting the better of them on both the occasions they were pitted against each other. They will hope that they keep this record intact. This is a special game as it's being played for the cause, Education For All. Both these teams will look to do their best to entertain the kids. Expect a cracker!
TOSS - MUMBAI WIN THE TOSS AND ELECT TO FIELD.
Mumbai captain, Rohit Sharma says that they are going to field first. Thinks that the pitch is looking dry and once the lights come on, batting will get easy. Mentions that there will be dew in the last 10 overs of the second innings which might help. Informs that Lasith Malinga comes in place of Tim Southee. Ends by saying that they are happy with the way things have churned out and adds that they have come out and expressed themselves very well.
Gujarat captain, Suresh Raina thinks that they need to start well. Hopes that they post a good score and defend it. Ends by saying that they have two changes, Jason Roy and Munaf Patel come in for Aaron Finch and Shadab Jakati. Informs that Finch has misplaced his kit bag so the change.

Gujarat shuffled their batting order quite a bit but Dinesh Karthik's breezy knock ensured that they go above 175. This total looks brilliant considering that the pitch was slightly difficult to bat on. There was help for the spinner as both Harbhajan and and Krunal Pandya bowled disciplined line and lengths to keep the flow of runs in check. The former got a wicket too! Barring Mitchell McClenaghan, all the other pacers were expensive and didn't play to their potential.
Early on in the innings, it was Brendon McCullum who slammed 64. He was a bit sluggish early on but once he got into his groove the Mumbai bowlers found it too difficult to stop him. Ishan Kishan, who was promoted ahead of Jason Roy, had a forgettable outing.
