Match over
0.1 : 0.1: S Badree to A Shehzad, FOUR! What a start for Pakistan! Badree gives a gift straightaway, a full toss on leg stump, Shehzad kneels and nails his sweep in front of square leg for a boundary.
0.2 : 0.2: S Badree to A Shehzad, OUT! Bowled 'em! Samuel Badree gets his revenge immediately. Teases the batsman with his flight and serves it around middle, Shehzad advances down the track, probably trying to be too aggressive but gets beaten in air. He then tries to cover the line and defend it but the ball spins away just a shade to beat the outside edge and the goes on to shatter the timber. No need to return Shehzad, keep on walking to the pavilion.
0.4 : 0.4: S Badree to I Wasim, OUT! STUMPED! Beautifully bowled googly. Landing full around middle and curling away, Wasim gets forward with a big stretch to flick on the leg side but is outfoxed by the variation. Walton is quick to gather the ball and break the stumps. They appeal and the square leg umpire goes upstairs. The replays show that it's touch and go. In fact after zooming in, it clearly shows that initially the back foot was on the line but then when he tries to push it back inside the cr
1.5 : 1.5: J Holder to K Akmal, FOUR! Holder doesn't learn and pays the price. Bowls it slightly short and wide outside off, Akmal latches onto it and smacks it through point for a powerful boundary.
2.2 : 2.2: S Badree to K Akmal, FOUR! Nicely done by Kamran! Loopy full ball around middle, Akmal goes down and across to sweep it over backward square leg for a boundary.
3.5 : 3.5: K Williams to B Azam, FOUR! That was uppish and for a moment Babar's heart would have been in his mouth. Williams drags his length short and serves it on off, Azam goes for the pull shot but fails to middle it properly. It's in the air and goes just over Pollard at mid-wicket for a boundary.
4.6 : 4.6: C Brathwaite to B Azam, FOUR! In full control this time, Azam. Carlos goes short around off, Babar rides the bounce and pulls it with authority over mid-wicket for a boundary.
5.3 : 5.3: J Holder to K Akmal, SIX! WOW! He's really got under that one. Fuller length ball and it's right in his slot. Kamran gets well underneath and middles it with all his might. Sends it bang high, way high over the mid-wicket boundary for a maximum. What a hit!
6.6 : 6.6: S Badree to K Akmal, FOUR! That's put away. Too short and Akmal has put it away. Goes back and pulls it firmly through mid-wicket. Beats Jason Holder out in the deep who makes a sloppy attempt to stop it. Boundary to end the over.
7.6: S Narine to B Azam, FOUR! Big mix-up there! What has happened here? So, so poor from the two men out in the deep. Babar Azam flicks this flatter ball through square leg. Jason Holder and Evin Lewis in the deep come running towards the ball but leave it thinking the other one will take it. It goes right through them and across the rope.
9.4 : 9.4: S Narine to K Akmal, SIX! BANG! That's outta here, and he hasn't even exactly middled that one. Tossed up on middle and leg, Kamran Akmal kneels down and slog sweeps it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie. Seems like it went off the top edge, but he hit it with some real power so it didn't matter.
9.6 : 9.6: S Narine to K Akmal, FOUR! Connects this time. Stays back, waits for it and cuts it past backward point to send it all the way for a boundary.
12.1 : 12.1: M Samuels to K Akmal, OUT! Can you believe it? Samuels bowls a gentle loosener, a high full toss outside off, Akmal's eyes lit up as he tries to send it out of Port of Spain. Swings his bat powerfully but fails to generate enough power behind the shot. Simmons at deep mid-wicket takes a great catch near the fence. The umpires check for the waist high full toss but it's just fine. Akmal departs with a forlorn face.
13.4 : 13.4: C Brathwaite to S Malik, OUT! Malik holes out! West Indies once again are having the upper hand. Brathwaite angles in a length ball on middle, Malik leans forward and across to flick it on the leg side but fails to keep it down. It flies over backward square leg and Evin Lewis in the deep takes a fine catch over his head. Big setback for Pakistan.
14.3 : 14.3: M Samuels to F Zaman, SIX! Out of here! The young man showcasing his hitting prowess. Floated off spinner on off, Zaman slogs it against the spin, gives it the full monty and sends it packing over long on for a biggie. He got out playing a similar shot in his debut match but today he has perfected it.
15.3: S Narine to B Azam, SIX! Right off the middle of the bat. What a hit from Babar Azam! Full and quick on the stumps, he adjusts, gets behind the line and hammers it over the wide long on fence for a maximum. Jason Holder can only be a mere spectator to this event near the fence.
15.4 : 15.4: S Narine to B Azam, OUT! Needless risk from Babar Azam sees him walking back. His team needed him to stay out there till the end but he's departed once more. This aspect of his game has been criticized before, that he needs to see the innings through more. Fails to do so here again. Walks across to this flat delivery, kneels down to scoop but misses and it rocks the timber. He's out of here and that's the end of a good knock.
17.2 : 17.2: J Holder to F Zaman, OUT! It's a run out! Back of a length angled across, Fakhar Zaman looks to work it away on the off side with an angled bat. He gets a bottom edge behind as Walton charges to the ball. Seeing Sarfraz Ahmed come a considerable way down the track, he throws it to Holder who initially seems to have lost the ball out of his hands while knocking the bails over. The umpires though check upstairs to be sure and replays show that Jason Holder has the ball in his hands while af
18.3 : 18.3: K Williams to W Riaz, OUT! Fantastic catch from Kieron Pollard! Typical of him, really. It's short and around off, Wahab Riaz pulls it over mid-wicket. Doesn't middle it and this gives Pollard the opportunity to shine. He comes running to his right from wide long on and dives to collect it in his safe hands. Another wicket down for the away team.
19.1 : 19.1: J Holder to S Tanvir, OUT! He's run out! Length delivery around off, Tanvir punches it to covers. Zaman takes off, but has to track back now. The throw comes in from Narine, Holder gets back and takes the bails off. It goes to the TV umpire and the replays show Fakhar is gone.
1.2 : 1.2: S Tanvir to C Walton, OUT! Tanvir strikes instantly! Not a great delivery though from Tanvir, he fires it fuller on the pads, Walton flicks it aerially over square leg. Fakhar Zaman out in the deep comes running in and dives forward to pouch it in both his hands. This dismissal is similar to how Shoaib Malik got out earlier in the first innings. Zaman did well to time the dive and take the catch. Pakistan off to a good start.
1.5 : 1.5: S Tanvir to M Samuels, FOUR! Poor ball and that's dispatched. He'll feast on them all day. Full on the pads, Marlon flicks it in front of square easily. There's a huge gap there and the ball races away to the fence for a boundary.
3.1 : 3.1: S Tanvir to E Lewis, FOUR! Full and wide outside off, with room on offer Evin Lewis cannot resist. He throws his bat at this and gets it off the outer half. Clears the point fielder and gets a boundary to his name.
3.6 : 3.6: S Tanvir to E Lewis, FOUR! Outside off, on a back of a length, Lewis opens the face and guides it late across the third man fence for a boundary.
4.5 : 4.5: I Wasim to E Lewis, SIX! BANG! Full on the stumps, Lewis gets low and slog sweeps it over the mid-wicket boundary for a maximum.
4.6 : 4.6: I Wasim to E Lewis, SIX! He's finally cut loose here. He's hit that with real power! Fuller outside off, Lewis stands his ground and swings with everything he's got. Doesn't middle it but it's still enough to clear the long on fence comfortably for a biggie.
5.4 : 5.4: H Ali to E Lewis, SIX! Monstrous hit! A 94m hit, talk about sweet connection on that. Back of a length, Lewis who is waiting for this, walks out a step and muscles the pull deep into the stands over the wide long on fence for a maximum.
5.6 : 5.6: H Ali to M Samuels, FOUR! 12 runs off the over. A big one for the hosts. Samuels lofts this with ease over mid-wicket and ends the over with a boundary.
6.3 : 6.3: S Khan to M Samuels, FOUR! Short, wide and outside off, width on offer so Samuels is on to it in a flash. Rocks back and cuts it behind backward point to pick up a boundary.
7.6 : 7.6: W Riaz to M Samuels, OUT! Change in pace has worked for Wahab. He dishes out a slower short ball around off, Samuels sticks back to his crease, fails to read the variation and is early into the shot. As a result, he ends up chipping it in the air and straight to Imad Wasim at long off. He makes no mistake and pumps his fist in celebration. Riaz is ecstatic. That's a big breakthrough for Pakistan. 80 needed off 72 balls.
8.5 : 8.5: S Khan to E Lewis, FOUR! Doesn't middle it but still gets a boundary. A googly around off, Lewis gets back to pull without reading the variation and it takes the inner portion of the bat. It runs fine down the leg side and finds the fence.
9.1 : 9.1: S Malik to J Mohammed, FOUR! Malik starts from around the wicket and serves a very full ball on off, Jason gets forward and drills it through extra cover for a crackling boundary.
9.4 : 9.4: S Malik to J Mohammed, FOUR! The move to bring Malik seems to have backfired. Tossed up ball on off, fuller in length, Mohammed goes inside-out and thumps it over covers for a boundary.
10.2 : 10.2: H Ali to E Lewis, FOUR! Sloppy by Tanvir! Back of a length delivery around off, Lewis swivels with the pull shot and gets it away off the under edge. It whizzes towards Tanvir at short fine leg who makes a complete mess of a relatively simple stop. A boundary conceded and Hasan Ali is not happy. Fielding letting Pakistan down and this is not the first time you are reading this statement.
11.3 : 11.3: S Khan to E Lewis, SIX! Maiden T20I fifty for Lewis to go with one century against India! Floated full ball on off, curving back in, Lewis kneels and muscles his slog sweep all the way over mid-wicket for a maximum. Powerful knock by him!
11.5 : 11.5: S Khan to E Lewis, SIX! Boom! Lewis is having fun now. Receives a shortish ball with glee and thwacks it over square leg via a pull shot for a biggie.
13.2 : 13.2: S Tanvir to E Lewis, SIX! Wow, what a hit! Tanvir delivers it on a length, Lewis hangs back, fetches it from outside off and deposits it over wide long on for a maximum. Packed a punch, literally.
13.4 : 13.4: S Tanvir to E Lewis, SIX! High and handsome! Tanvir angles in a full length ball on off, Lewis gets behind the line and hammers it over the bowler's head for another maximum in the over.
13.5 : 13.5: S Tanvir to E Lewis, FOUR! Tanvir has lost his radar. Serves a high full toss outside off, Lewis latches onto it and whacks it over backward point for a boundary. Called a no ball for over the waist high full toss!
13.6 : 13.6: S Tanvir to E Lewis, SIX! Lewis is in a hurry! Tanvir bowls a slower short ball on middle, 100 kph, Evin picks the variation in a trice, waits for it before pummeling it over fine leg for a biggie. 24 runs off the over, 11 needed off 36 balls.
14.2 : 14.2: S Khan to E Lewis, SIX! Bang! Evin Lewis in this mood is very dangerous. Pakistan's neighbouring country India know it as the southpaw hit a quickfire century against them. Flatter and fuller on middle, Lewis clobbers it over cow corner for a maximum. This is now the highest score for a West Indies batsman in T20Is against Pakistan.
14.4 : 14.4: S Khan to E Lewis, OUT! Lewis holes out but not before doing the damage. Just 4 more needed off 32 balls. Flighted full ball on middle, probably a googly, Lewis swings his bat hard and mistimes his shot down to long off. Wahab Riaz in the deep runs in a bit, nearly misjudges but then does well to catch it in the end. Smile on his face says it all.
14.5 : 14.5: S Khan to L Simmons, FOUR! West Indies win by 7 wickets and 31 balls to spare! Flatter and shorter around off, 95 kph, Simmons gets back and forces it straight down the ground, beating mid on for a boundary. Handshakes all around and the crowd is celebrating.
