0.0 : Hello and welcome to game no. 14 in this year's Indian T20 League. It is a clash between the heavyweights of the tournament, Mumbai and Bangalore in Wankhede. The hosts are yet to get off the mark in the tournament. They have always been slow beginners but they would want to get back to winning ways starting from today. Both their bowling and batting has been performing inconsistently until now. Rohit Sharma would hope for both the departments to click here today.
Bangalore, on the other hand, have also not had a great start to the tournament. They have won 1 out of the three games they have played. They might make a few changes to their squad. We might see Brendon McCullum make way for another foreign player as he has failed to click. Whatever team they have, Virat Kohli would be eager here for a victory. However, it won't be an easy game against last year's champions and we can expect an exciting clash. Stay tuned for further updates.
Danny Morrison is taking an interview of Washington Sundar. He looks as calm as ever. On the restriction of being allowed to play only one Under-19 World Cup, he says that the greater positive is that he was able to restrict the senior side for his country. On the current T20 team, he praises Daniel Vettori and Virat Kohli for keeping things calm in the dressing room. Stresses that Bangalore is a very good team and only need to execute its plans. Is confident that the team will do better in the
Suryakumar Yadav is being interviewed by Harsha now. He says that he can bat anywhere in the order but is relishing the opportunity to bat up the order. On Evin Lewis in the line-up, Surya says that all he has to do is play around Lewis because most of the hitting is done by the West Indian. Adds further that his aim is to play for as long as possible. Admits that there is some tension in the camp after three straight losses and hopes that tonight is when fortunes change for Mumbai.
PITCH REPORT - Sunil Gavaskar doing the pitch report starts by saying there is a slight change in the pitch today. Informs there is a bit of extra covering of grass on the surface. He reckons the ball will come on nicely onto the bat. He feels there will be dew coming in later as well.
TOSS - Up goes the coin, Virat Kohli calls and it lands in his favor. Bangalore will field first.
Virat Kohli says it looks like a damp wicket. He adds further there is a bit of cloud cover and it might assist the new ball bowlers. He reckons they just got to correct a few things, come out and play their best cricket and hope they come out on the right side. Informs they have made three changes, Brendon McCullum, Pawan Negi and Kulwant Khejroliya make way for Corey Anderson, Sarfaraz Khan and Mohammed Siraj.
Rohit Sharma starts by saying it looks a similar wicket to the last two games. He feels the wicket should remain the same. Reckons the dew might come in later on but the guys have to adjust. Admits they are in a tough situation but their team has the character to bounce back. Informs there is one change as Mitchell McClenaghan comes in for Akila Dananjaya.
We are all set to get underway. The players and the umpires make their way out to the middle. The two openers, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma will try and make full use of the Powerplay. Umesh Yadav has the new ball in hand and he will start the proceedings for Bangalore. Here we go...
0.1 : U Yadav to S Yadav, OUT! TIMBER! Umesh Yadav strikes off the first ball. Excellent delivery first up. He comes running in and lands it on a length around off, it shapes back in a touch after pitching. Suryakumar Yadav goes for a drive but he leaves a gap between bat and pad and it goes through it and hits the off stump. Yadav is up and running in celebration and there is a pin drop silence at Wankhede. Brilliant start for Bangalore. Ishan Kishan is the next man in.
0.2 : U Yadav to I Kishan, OUT! Two-in-two for Umesh! What a delivery this is. How do you play those? Ishan Kishan surely does not have the answer. Full again from over the wicket on off, this one shapes in late, very late. Ishan too goes for the booming drive but he too leaves a gap between bat and pad. The ball sneaks through and rattles the off stump. Mumbai are in big trouble here and Bangalore could not have asked for a better start. Umesh Yadav is on a hat-trick.

0.3 : U Yadav to R Sharma, No hat-trick! Not the best of deliveries this one. On the pads. Sharma too fails to put it away as he gets hit on the pads. The ball rolls towards square leg and the batsmen run a leg bye. Mumbai are underway.
0.4 : U Yadav to E Lewis, Fuller in length on middle, Lewis drives it back towards the bowler who makes a half stop. The ball goes towards mid on and the batsmen take a run.
0.5 : U Yadav to R Sharma, Fullish again on off, looking for the swing he got on the first two balls. There is no movement this time as Rohit drives it towards mid off for a run.
0.6 : U Yadav to E Lewis, The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot. End of an over which has produced two wickets in it. A captain cannot ask for anything more. Yadav was taken to the cleaners in the last game but he has come back with a BANG!
Chris Woakes will bowl from the other end.
1.1 : C Woakes to R Sharma, Woakes goes fuller this time. He too was looking for some swing but does not get any. Sharma drives it to mid on. Rohit is timing the ball well here.
1.2 : C Woakes to R Sharma, FOUR! Exquisite! Right off the middle. Pure class from Rohit Sharma to score the first boundary off this game. Full and on off, Sharma leans into it and times it through covers. Once the ball beats the infield, there is no stopping it.
1.3 : C Woakes to R Sharma, Fuller again on off, no swing for Woakes. Sharma eases it towards mid off for a quick run.
1.4 : C Woakes to E Lewis, Back of a length on off, Lewis keeps it out off the back foot.
1.5 : C Woakes to E Lewis, SIX! That is a big one! Short and on middle, Lewis rocks back, picks the length early and sends it sailing over the square leg fence. Not a good follow up over by Woakes here. He has been a little too full and this time a little too short.
1.6 : C Woakes to E Lewis, Goes back to bowling length on middle, Lewis gets it off the inner half towards short fine leg. Sharma wants a run and Lewis does not hear the call. He eventually goes for it and makes it easy. So the second over is a good one for Mumbai, 12 from it.
2.1 : U Yadav to E Lewis, Umesh is persisting with the fuller length. This time though he delivers a low full toss. Lewis tries to drive but it hits the toe end and goes to mid off.
2.2 : U Yadav to E Lewis, FOUR! Poor ball and put away! This one is short and on the body. Easy pickings for Lewis as he helps it on its way through short fine leg for a boundary. Runs are coming thick and fast now.

3.1 : W Sundar to R Sharma, FOUR! Welcome Sundar! He fires it on off, the ball skids on and as I wrote it comes onto the bat nicely. Rohit goes back and places it into the gap through covers for a boundary.
3.2 : W Sundar to R Sharma, This was bowled on a similar length but on the stumps. Not a lot off width on offer and Sharma defends it.
3.3 : W Sundar to R Sharma, Fires it on off, Sharma taps it towards covers and gives the strike to Lewis.
3.4 : W Sundar to E Lewis, FOUR! Lewis not gets a hit me ball and he puts it away. Short and outside off, Evin rocks back and cuts it through point for a boundary. Sundar has got his line wrong here.
3.5 : W Sundar to E Lewis, FOUR WIDES! The pressure now is getting to him. Two boundaries and now five runs off this one. Down the leg side, Lewis goes for the sweep but misses. De Kock fails to collect it and it runs away to the fence. 14 from this over so far.
W Sundar to E Lewis, FOUR! Make that 18! Once again it is down the leg side. Lewis sweeps it very fine and there is no stopping that. Not a good start for Sundar.

3.6 : W Sundar to E Lewis, NOT OUT! He has made it, just! The crowd erupts seeing that. Washington bowls this one slower on middle, it turns away and takes the outside edge as it goes towards short third man. Rohit calls for a run and Lewis responds late. Siraj there is quick to the ball and scores a bull's eye at the non-striker's end. The players appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays roll in and it shows Lewis has made it. 4.1 : M Siraj to E Lewis, SIX! It has gone miles! Siraj runs in and serves it short around middle and leg, Lewis swivels inside the crease with the pull shot and sends it packing over square leg into the Sachin Tendulkar stand. Pressure straightway on the bowler.
4.2 : M Siraj to E Lewis, A good comeback delivery. On a fuller length around off, moving away a touch, Lewis gets squared up a shade as he keeps it out safely towards point. A bit of an outside edge there.

M Siraj to E Lewis, FOUR! Runs continue to flow from the West Indian batsman. Siraj bowls it too full and too wide outside off, Lewis squeezes it out and places it wide of short third man for a boundary.
4.6 : M Siraj to E Lewis, Knocks it down to mid on and rushes across for a risky single. A direct hit would have made things interestingly. 16 from the over!
Chris Woakes comes back into the attack.
5.1 : C Woakes to E Lewis, FOUR! Too easy this for Lewis! Not smart bowling by the bowler. He is providing width outside off with the third man up. All Lewis has to do is guide it through the gap between that fielder and point and he deoes exactly so and the ball races away. Early boundary, pressure on the bowler. Not a good start to the last over of the Powerplay.
5.2 : C Woakes to E Lewis, Lucky to get away with that! A full toss outside off, Lewis tries to drive it through the off side but misses. He will be disappointed of not putting that away.

Strategic break has been signaled! So after two wickets off the first two balls. Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis have done really well to counter attack and score runs freely. They are going at 10 per over and now after this brisk partnership, they will feel they are top at the moment.

6.5 : M Siraj to E Lewis, Slower ball again on off, Lewis tries to cut but once again chops it back towards the bowler. A good comeback over this has been by Siraj. Just three off it till now, there is still a ball to go.
6.6 : M Siraj to E Lewis, Excellent fielding! Kohli leads from the front here. Fuller and on off, Lewis drives it towards covers. Kohli there dives to his left and makes a good stop. Stops a certain run. So just three from the over after the break. A much-needed tight one for Bangalore.

7.2 : W Sundar to R Sharma, SIX! Boom boom goes Sharma! He comes down the track, Sundar drags his length back a little. Sharma still goes ahead with the shot. He goes with the spin and tonks it over the mid-wicket fence.

8.6 : Y Chahal to E Lewis, Again quicker and outside off, Lewis once again slashes but misses. Chahal I think won't be tossing it up anymore.

9.2 : C Anderson to R Sharma, FOUR! No bowler is going to be spared here today! Sharma comes dancing down the track and also makes room. He gets it where he wants, outside off. Sharma slaps it over covers and the ball races away.
9.3 : C Anderson to R Sharma, FOUR! This one is full and on off, a half-volley in fact. Sharma will not miss out on this one as he drives it over covers and the ball races away.

13.4 : Y Chahal to K Pandya, In the air... and on the bounce! Pandya once again tries to go big. The timing is not there on the slog sweep and hits it on the bounce to deep mid-wicket for a run.

13.6 : Y Chahal to K Pandya, Pandya tries to do exactly that. He tries to go over covers but once again he mishits it. It is up in the air for a while. Kohli from covers comes running in, dives but could not get to the ball. A good effort from the Bangalore skipper, a dot to finish.
Second strategic break signaled! Mumbai have lost Lewis but are in a good position at the moment. This is where they lost the plot in their last game and they would not want to repeat it. They would want to cash in from here. Something above 200 is what they will be looking for. Bangalore on the other hand will look to restrict them below that and if they are to do so, they will need wickets.

Massive win for Mumbai and they are finally off the mark this season. A victory nicely set up by their batsmen. Powered by Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis' knock, they posted a gigantic total on the board and then their bowlers finally showed up and defended the total on the fourth attempt. When chasing a big total, you need an excellent beginning. Bangalore though lost their two premium batsmen, Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers inside the Powerplay. From there onward, it was a struggle for them. Although skipper Virat Kohli kept scoring from one end, he failed to receive any support from the other end.
