| Another excellent contest. The result was not too much in doubt after India made 381 but Eoin Morgan took the game close, giving the hosts some doubts. Eventually, it turned out to be 20 runs too many for the visiting side. |
| England did not get off to the best of starts, losing Alex Hales early. But then, Roy and Root fought hard with a century stand. India then bounced back with three wickets in 32 balls and the tourists seemed to be getting rolled over. But Moeen Ali and skipper Morgan then revived their team with a quickfire stand of 93 from just 73 balls. |
