| UAE started their innings poorly after being put into bat by Canada. They lost both their openers inside two overs. But from there on, Muhammad Usman and Rameez Shahzad stitched a small partnership of 42 runs to bring UAE back on track. After the departure of Shahzad, Usman and D'Silva got into the act as they stitched a 73-run stand. In the process, Usman reached his half ton too. His counter-attacking batting took UAE to a very competitive total. |
| For Canada, it all started really well with the ball. They dealt two blows early on. After that their spinners, Nikhil Dutta, Saad Bin Zafar and Junaid Siddiqui were brilliant in choking up the run flow. Up until then, the only negative for them was a dropped catch and poor bowling from Dillon Heyliger. Rest everything was spot on for them from the word go. |
| Muhammad Usman, the main man for UAE, is down for a quick interview. He says that after they were 3 down in the Powerplay, he remembered what his coach told him about how to slow down at the start and then after facing some balls pick up the pace of the innings. On being asked about his strategy at hitting towards the longer boundary, Usman says that his only strategy was to pick the gaps and hit through them. |

They started the run chase on a positive note with the first wicket adding 29 runs inside 4 overs.
