Yash Thakur picks up, turns and hits the stumps at his side. Karthik slips as well, as he tries to rush back but Yash Thakur would have still got the better of him.

19.5 : Naveen-ul-Haq to Josh Hazlewood, Length and outside off, Josh Hazlewood knocks it to cover for one.
19.6 : A struggling inning from Bangalore! Faf du Plessis was aware of what this pitch will offer as he chose to bat first but still, it feels like they are 15-20 runs short. Bangalore were off to a good start which was key on this slow pitch but once Kohli fell, the wickets kept on falling from one end. Faf du Plessis was feeling helpless at the other end. Even though he stayed for a long time, he didn't make a lot of difference. To wrap it up for Bangalore, only three players got a double-digit sco
Lucknow will be really happy. They would have taken this score at the start. The spinners were the go-to bowlers on this pitch and they have done an excellent job. Ravi Bishnoi, Amit Mishra and Krishnappa Gowtham claimed five wickets together while Naveen-ul-Haq with his slower ones got three wickets. A really good job by Lucknow.
Right then! Not a big total but Lucknow have to be cautious with the chase. Still no news on KL Rahul but we feel Lucknow should chase this down without his help. Stay tuned.
Faf du Plessis is up for a quick chat. He says it is a slow wicket. Feels 135-140 was a par score but says it wasn't easy to bat on. Reckons the finger spinners were hard to play and hopes to get some early wickets to defend this total.

1.5 : Marcus Stoinis to Virat Kohli, JUST OVER! This is full and slanting on leg, Kohli makes room to flick but gets a leading edge and it goes just over the man at covers. One. Bangalore are living dangerously.
1.6 : Marcus Stoinis to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! That will help dearly. Length ball, outside off, Faf Du Plessis punches it through covers and it races to the fence. KL Rahul is down though. He gives a chase but pulls up and is not looking good. Looks like his hamstring.
2.1 : Krunal Pandya to Virat Kohli, Outside off this is punched to long off for a single.
2.2 : Krunal Pandya to Faf du Plessis, Flat and on leg, tailing in. Faf du Plessis looks to flick but misses.

0.1 : Mohammed Siraj to Kyle Mayers, A dot to begin with! A full ball outside off, looking to bring it back in but no swing on this one. Kyle Mayers looks to drive but it goes off the inner half back to the bowler.
0.2 : Mohammed Siraj to Kyle Mayers, OUT! TAKEN! The dangerous Kyle Mayers is out of here! An early strike for Bangalore and it is surely they wicket they would have wanted. Siraj gets Mayers again. This time he goes short and it hurries Mayers. He looks to pull but this goes off the splice towards mid on. Anuj Rawat takes it.
Krunal Pandya, the stand-in skipper, walks out to bat. He will need to play well here, the wicket is not easy and he needs to play a good knock here.
0.3 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, Another one dished out wide outside off. Krunal Pandya goes after it but it goes off the inner half back to the bowler.

Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, Good length and on off, Pandya pushes it to covers.
0.5 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, What just happened there? A short one, it pitches around middle and angles away. Krunal Pandya looks to pull but misses. It keeps swinging away. The first slip fielder sticks a hand out and makes a half stop. No run taken. Good from Maxwell or that could have gone to the fence.
0.6 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, A top over from Siraj! A run and a wicket from it. Length and on off, this is pushed to mid on.
Josh Hazlewood to bowl from the other end then! He is back into the Bangalore side after an injury break. If he bowls anything close to his best, he is going to be a real handful on this wicket.
1.1 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, Straightaway beats the bat! Shorter and just outside off, Ayush Badoni looks to cut but is beaten. Not enough room to play that shot. Have to be careful against Josh Hazlewood!
1.2 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, Beats the outside edge yet again! Slightly shorter and outside off, yet again not a lot of width on offer but Ayush Badoni throws his bat at it, he is beaten.
1.3 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, Confusion but no harm done! Three dots to begin with by Josh Hazlewood> Will give him a lot of confidence. On middle, this is nudged to mid-wicket. Krunal wants a run but is sent back.
1.4 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, Pressure getting to Ayush Badoni here! He knows they have to make most of the Powerplay and he swings across the line here, it is a length ball on off, it goes off the inner half to mid on.
1.5 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, Josh Hazlewood gets away with one there! The extra bounce he gets saves him! This is short and outside off, Ayush Badoni slashes but misses. Something has to give we believe on this last ball.
1.6 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, Well, a sensible front foot push towards mid on on this length ball for one. Still though just a single from the first over by Josh Hazlewood!
2.1 : Mohammed Siraj to Ayush Badoni, Takes a step down the track and then pushes this towards mid on for one.
2.2 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, Quite casual from Anuj Rawat! Length and on off, this is pushed to his right at mid off. He runs there but does not stop it cleanly. An extra run taken.
2.3 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, FOUR! Pulled away! A short one, a little too short, comes slow off the surface. Krunal Pandya has enough time to rock back and pull it over mid-wicket for a boundary.
2.4 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, FOUR! Up and over! Two boundaries in a row! This could well be the pressure releasing over. 11 from the first 4 balls. Length and on middle, Pandya makes room and lifts it over mid off and this one races away to the fence.
2.5 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, FOUR! Up and over! Three in a row! Fuller and on middle, a slower one. Krunal Pandya lifts it over mid on and this one races away to the fence.
2.6 : Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, WIDE! Way too short and outside off, Krunal Pandya looks to play the upper cut but is beaten. Wided. Mohammed Siraj wants a review but not taken. Rightly so. That was well over the batter's head.
Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, Good length and on off, Krunal Pandya pushes it to covers. He wants a run but is sent back. The fielder has a shy at the keeper's end but misses. Krunal Pandya would have been in.

Change of ends for Josh Hazlewood!
4.2 : Josh Hazlewood to Marcus Stoinis, Length and on off, Marcus pushes it to covers.
4.1 : Josh Hazlewood to Ayush Badoni, OUT! TAKEN! That is a sharp, sharp catch from Virat Kohli! His second but this one is a lot better than the last one. The change of ends for Josh Hazlewood works and this is his first wicket this season. The big man, did not take long to make an impact. ... PRESENTATION TIME ...
That is some bowling performance from Bangalore. 126 was not such a big total, despite the wicket being extremely slow and Lucknow not having Rahul but the Bangalore bowlers were exceptional. Also, credit to Faf du Plessis who was excellent with his captaincy as well. It was Siraj who started things off with a wicket in the first over and Josh Hazlewood did his job from the other end. Faf's change of bowlers also worked brilliantly as whoever he got on, managed to deliver. When you defend 126, y
For Lucknow, it was yet another poor performance with the bat. Just one batter managed to cross the 20-run mark and that was Krishnappa Gowtham. When you lose by 18 runs chasing just 126 that indicates how poor one side was with the bat. Their bowlers did brilliantly in the first half to restrict a powerful batting line-up to a low score but their batters were equally poor and in the end, it is yet another loss for them at their home ground.
Krunal Pandya, the stand-in captain of Lucknow, is up for a chat. He says the bowling was really good from their side but the batters were not upto the mark yet again. Informs he does not know how bad Rahul's injury was but they are keeping a close watch.
Faf du Plessis, MAN OF THE MATCH, says the wicket here and the wicket back home are the complete opposite. Reckons they played well in the Powerplay and that is what was the difference. Also adds, batting first was better, spinners were difficult to face and it is pretty hard to score if the bowlers hit the right lines and lengths. Mentions, he feels 135 would have been a good score as the nature of the wicket was very tough. Also says they needed early wickets in the Powerplay and got it. Credi
