0.0 : England, on the other hand, would be desperate to level the series. They have been annihilated in the last couple of Test matches but they would hope to come back stronger in this game and try their level best to win the match. They made a tactical blunder in the last match by playing just a single spinner but that might change in this game as Dom Bess is likely to play. Whom will he replace? We will have to wait and watch. What about the team changes for India? They will be without Jasprit Bumr

A solid end to the session for England but still it was India's session. A good session, which had wickets, runs, and also some chatter. 3 wickets in the first session and the hosts will be happy with how things have panned out.
After opting to bat, England once again failed to get a steady start. They lost both the openers, Sibley and Crawley to Axar. Skipper, Joe Root too failed to make an impact. The hosts were struggling at 30/3 but Stokes and Bairstow have done well since then. The pair have added 44 runs and are looking good out in the middle. The job though is nowhere close to being done as the tourists will need this pair to bat for a long period and put them in a commanding position.
Good bowling display from India so far. Once again it was Axar who has done majority of the damage. The left-arm spinner was introduced early and that decision reaped rewards as he got the better of the English openers. Siraj too looked good and got one. Ishant was unable to find his lines and lengths consistently. Ashwin did not bowl much and is just at the start of his spell. Another enjoyable session for the hosts in this Test.
19.5 : Ravichandran Ashwin to Ben Stokes, SIX! There he goes! Stokes does not want Ashwin to settle! Loopy ball on off, Stokes uses his feet and then lifts it over long off for a maximum. First one in the game.
24.6 : So England have dominated the second hour of the first session but if they are to stay alive in this game, they will need to do that for the whole of the second session. India will be looking to get rid of this partnership early in the second session and get a stronghold in this game. Can Bairstow and Stokes continue their fight or will India come roaring back? Join us for the second session at 1210 local (0640 GMT) to find out.

The umpires have gone upstairs to check whether it is a bump ball. The soft signal is OUT!
61.3 : Ravichandran Ashwin to Ollie Pope, OUT! CAUGHT AT SHORT LEG! It has hit the bat, then hit the pad and went straight to short leg. How unfortunate is that? Pope's fight is over. He fought really hard out in the middle but it has been cut short by Ashwin who gets his first wicket of the game. Loopy ball on middle, Pope dances down the track and then looks to flick but it seems to have taken the inside edge, then onto the pads and straight to Gill at short leg, who pouches it safely. The Indi

65.4 : Ravichandran Ashwin to Ben Foakes, OUT! CAUGHT AT FIRST SLIP! Ashwin gets another! Sharp chance for Rahane but he is a very good fielder and makes it look very easy. Foakes does not last long at the crease. Beautiful piece of bowling from Ashwin and England are 7 down now. Ashwin tosses this one around off, Foakes lunges forward and then looks to defend but it takes the outside edge and goes towards Rahane at first slip. Ajinkya lunges forward and takes a good catch, just inches above the

66.6 : Axar Patel to Dan Lawrence, NOT OUT! The third umpire deems that it has bounced before it hit Gill's boot and then to Pant. Lawrence survives but by just. He was very close to being dismissed in a strange manner but luckily for him and England, he manages to survive. Flatter ball on middle, Lawrence flicks it towards short leg. It seems to have gone off the boot of Gill and into the gloves of Pant. The Indians are confident and are celebrating but the two on-field umpires converge and take

Axar Patel bowls it slower through the air outside off, Lawrence dances down the track and then looks to smack it out of the park but gets deceived by it and misses. Pant collects and has no problems in whipping the bails off. Lawrence is nowhere in the picture

75.4 : Jack Leach has decided to take it upstairs. He has been adjudged LBW but he has signalled the 'T'. Seems to be a hopeful review than anything else.
75.5 : What a stunning performance yet again by the hosts with the ball! Once again it is the local boy, Axar Patel who will grab the headlines! He has not been a very welcoming host but a gem for his team. The man has taken Test cricket like a duck to water and has finished with yet another 4-fer. Ashwin too was in the thick of action. Though he started the day off slowly, not picking a wicket in the first two sessions. He did the damage in the third and finished with 3. Siraj bowled very well and ask
So England have once again failed with the bat and find themselves chasing this game already. Their bowlers will once again have to do a top-class job to keep their side in the hunt in this game. The Indian openers will come and their first task would be to see off the day without much damage. Can England strike a couple of blows and put the hosts under pressure or will India end with a perfect day?
Another superb bowling display from India and another lacklustre show with the willow by the English batters. They once again fell to the same trap they have fallen in the series since the second Test. The Axar-Ashwin trap! The spin twins picking up 7 wickets amongst themselves and trapping another web against the tourists!
After winning the toss and opting to bat, the story of the series continued. The England batters struggled to get going with both the openers falling early to Axar Patel. Root too did not last long. Bairstow and Stokes tried to steady the ship but their 48-run stand was cut short. Stokes' fifty gave some hope but that was cut short as well soon after. Pope and Lawrence showed some fight but none of them could capitalize on the starts they got and wickets at regular intervals meant England were b
0.2 : Bright start for England as they have got Shubman Gill adjudged LBW. The Indian opener though has decided to take the review. Can the replays save him or will England get off to a perfect start with the ball?
0.3 : India's new-age wall, Cheteshwar Pujara walks out to bat. He has not had a very good series according to his high standards.
0.6 : England playing just one frontline seamer in this Test so who will bowl from the other end?  Will it be Ben Stokes or a spinner? It is going to be Ben Stokes.

A very solid day for India and they will be the happier side at the end of Day 1 without any doubts. England will be happy that they got a wicket but will be disappointed how things panned out throughout the day.
0.1 : James Anderson to Shubman Gill, Anderson starts with an outswinger on off, Gill drives it towards mid on.
11.6 : The pacer who impressed with the ball for India, Mohammed Siraj is caught for a chat. He says that the wicket is a batting wicket and he had one plan and that was to bowl at one area patiently. Goes onto say that Kohli told him that they will keep rotating the faster bowlers as they will get enough rest. States that when he was playing in Australia, he always wanted to give his full effort and that is the case even in the series. Says that they would look to bat as much as they can.
It was a day that clearly belonged to India. The bowlers once again delivered as the spinners continued the tale of the tape as they continued to spin web around England's batters, Axar and Ashwin were in the thick of action picking up 7 wickets between them. The hosts lost Gill in the very first over of their innings. It looked like it could be a tricky end to the day but Rohit and Pujara ensured there were no further damage and India finish a dominant day.

Anderson bowls a good length ball on middle and leg, Gill looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. England appeal and the finger goes up. Gill has a chat with his partner and then signals the 'T'. The

11.6 : That is it from Day 1 of the final Test between India and England. The visitors are on the back foot at the end of the day but by no means out of it. Their bowlers will have to do the job with the ball and restrict India to a minimal total. India, on the other hand, will look to build on their solid showing on day 1. How will things pan out in this Test? Join us on Friday, 5th March for Day 2 of this Test. The action will begin at 0930 local (0400 GMT). Make sure you join us. Till then, goodbye

Stokes' fifty was the saving grace in an otherwise timid batting display as the visitors could not bat the day out and were bundled out for 205! James Anderson started well with the ball as he got rid of Gill early. He kept things tight but there was no other success to end the day for England
... Day 2, Session 1 ...
Hello and welcome to the second day of the final Test between India and England. The hosts dominated day 1 with the ball and are in a strong position in this game. They will hope to bat the whole day and ensure they have a big lead. So far, the Indian batting display has been below their high standards and they'll look to correct that. England, on the other hand,  will have to find a way to keep India at bay. Their bowlers will need to be at their best if that is to happen.
Usually, Day 3 is called the moving day of a Test but here Day 2 can be the one that decides the fate of the game. Can England strike early and push the Indians under pressure? Or will the Indians be able to put on a big first innings score to take control of the game? Big first session coming up.
Pitch report - Deep Dasgupta is alongside Ajit Agarkar for the pitch inspection. Agarkar feels that England wouldn't be pleased with their performance with the bat. A very good session of play. Both the teams would feel that they have done a fine job. England managed the big wicket of Rohit after India were starting to take the game away. And for India, as far as Pant is there, they are always in the game. They are still 52 behind but Pant can wipe these runs off in no time.
The session started well for the Indians as Rohit along with Pant added runs without much trouble. However, England didn't give easy runs, as they did in the first session. Rohit fell for 49 but Pant continued. Ashwin failed to last long and departed for 13. Pant has continued and has done well to keep the Indians in the game. He has Sundar for the company and the duo will return with the aim of taking the team close to the English total and then take the lead.
Another decent bowling performance from England. Once again it is Stokes who put a spirited effort and bowled a long spell and prized out the massive wicket of Rohit Sharma. Leach got rid of Ashwin and have kept the team in this game. A couple of quick wickets and they still have the chance of taking a decent lead. Join us for the final session to find out how things pan out.

What a fantastic day of Test cricket. England won the first two sessions but a young southpaw from Delhi ensured that India don't just win the final session but win it in such a way that the day belonged to the hosts. The day belonged to Rishabh Pant and all headlines will have his name and rightfully so but Washington Sundar has played a superb inning himself and has finished the day unbeaten on 60!
England started the day just how the doctor ordered. They kept things tight initially and managed to pick wickets at regular intervals. At 80/4 it looked like India was in trouble. That trouble seemed to have deepened when the well-set batter, Rohit Sharma departed for 49. Ashwin and Pant tried to steady the ship but the off-spinner did not last long. At 146/6, still trailing by 59 on a pitch where batting was not at all easy. It was England who were happy and smiling.
... Day 3, Session 1 ...
So, India are well and truly in pole position of this Test match, sealing their place in the WTC final and also winning the trophy. England will have to take good rest overnight, ensure they come fresh and motivated on Day 3. They will first need to find a way to wrap up this innings and then ensure the batters can finally deliver. Make sure you join us on Saturday, 6th March for Day 3 of this Test. The action begins at 0930 local (0400 GMT). Till then goodbye and take care!
The star of the day, Rishabh Pant is caught down for a chat! Pant tells that the only thing running on his mind was building a stand with Rohit. Says after assessing the pitch, he played his shots. Tells that he understood that he will have to respect the good ball. Feels he knew the bad balls will come and that's when he will score his runs. Tells that he likes to play according to the situation. Says that the plan was to get to England's score and then get a big lead. On the reverse sweep agai
On a scorching hot day, credit must be given to Ben Stokes and Jimmy Anderson. The pair kept running and ran out of steam but kept going. England's gamble to play a bowler short was looking like it was paying off but not to be. Bess struggled for rhythm and his lack of confidence was evident.  That saw the burden increase on the pacers and Root had to shoulder a lot of responsibility. The two pacers did well. Veteran Anderson and Stokes both picked up two today while Leach too got a brace.
But then the tide changed, the momentum shifted, and the game turned on its head. Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar joined hands, and both the young left-handers took on the England bowlers. While Sundar kept tiring the bowlers by playing a classic Test match knock. Pant, from the other end, was taking on the attack. The Delhi lad who has this knack of deciding a Test with his batting did the same. Pant scored a supreme century and Washington showed his mettle as well. The pair added 113,  a s
Will this be the last day in this Test match? It very well might be as England would need to bat out of their skins now to have a chance in this game but first they will need to pick up the remaining three wickets quickly. They have already given a lead of 89 runs and India are not done yet. The visitors' batting has been poor in this series and with a lead already being a good one for India, things look bleak for England in this series and the chances for India going to the WTC final has increa
Day 3 which is also called the moving day is upon us with India ahead in the game. They lead by 89 runs and are looking set for a good lead over the visitors. India were not ahead all the time, in fact, England had won the first 2 sessions on Day 2 but Pant's majestic century along with Sundar's innings helped the hosts gain the advantage towards the end of Day 2. The hosts would now look to press home the advantage and put England out of the contest. England, on the other hand, would be disappo

DRINKS! India have done really well here at the start of Day 3! Axar Patel and Washington Sundar have bunted the bowling attack and have looked really good. Sundar is on his way to a century while Patel has played his part. England, on the other hand, need to break this partnership and get the remaining wickets as quickly as possible. They have a tough ask on their hands. Can they make a comeback?
108.1 : Ben Stokes to Washington Sundar, Shorter and on middle, this is pushed down to long on for one.
108.2 : Ben Stokes to Axar Patel, Edged but safe! An effort ball, gets it to rise, Axar looks to fend at it but the ball hits the splice and goes through the vacant gully region, down to third man for one.

This is short and on middle, Sundar pulls it with one leg up in the air through mid-wicket. An appeal for run out taken upstairs. It looks close and it seems that Axar Patel is out of his crease. He has already started walking back to the pavilion. Out is the signal.
113.6 : Joe Root to Washington Sundar, OUT! The dive does not save Axar! He is a goner. 7 short of his first Test half ton. He is gutted as he walks back. Batted so well till now but he has to go in an unfortunate manner. That is the only way this partnership looked like it will be broken. Coming to the ball now, it is a low full toss, Sundar hits it hard to mid on. Axar wants a run and charges out. He is sent back though as that was hit really well and there was no run in it. Bairstow there pick
Ishant Sharma is the next man in.
114.1 : Ben Stokes to Ishant Sharma, OUT! LBW! Ishant Sharma goes for a first-ball duck! This looked plumb in front and he has to. Stokes gets his third and Washington Sundar might be thinking that he might be stranded here in the 90s. Stokes goes full on middle, Sharma shuffles across and looks to flick but misses and gets rapped on the pads. Stokes and England appeal and up goes the finger. Ishant walks back without taking the review.

Sundar walks back a little disappointed but he has played a wonderful knock. INDIA ALL OUT ON 365 WITH A LEAD OF 160.
You have to feel so bad for Sundar who has his head down as he walks back quickly towards the dressing room. He does get a pat on his back from a few teammates as he makes his way back but he surely will be heartbroken as he was so close to his first Test ton. Nevertheless, he has done an exceptional job for his side.
Sundar walked out to bat when India were in a spot of bother, the game was in balance then as the hosts were 146 for 6. However, then came two stands which took the game away from England completely. First between Pant and Sundar with the former scoring a ton. He was dismissed yesterday but Patel and Sundar continued the good work. They too added another 100-run stand which took India's lead to over 150. Their innings came to a sour end as Axar was dismissed a little short of his first half ton
England did have their moments with the ball! They started off really well as they did not let India score freely and also picked up wickets at regular intervals. Anderson, Stokes and Leach, all three were good until the last session yesterday. One just feels they ran out of gas as runs started to flow in the last session of Day 2 and they did not look that threatening too. They failed to capitalize when they had a chance and that probably has put them well behind in the game.
England now trail by 160, they will need to score at least 350 if they are to think of winning this game. That though seems a long way away, their first aim will be to avoid an innings defeat. The wicket is still good enough to bat on so they would love to make use of that. They will come out for a bit before Lunch, can they come out of the nervy period unscathed? India on the other hand, will love a wicket at least.
0.1 : Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, Siraj starts with a good length ball outside off, Crawley lets it through to the keeper.
0.2 : Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, Full ball outside off, Crawley has once again no problems in leaving it alone.

2.2 : Mohammed Siraj to Dom Sibley, Good length ball on off, Sibley prods forward and then blocks it to cover.

2.4 : Mohammed Siraj to Dom Sibley, Good fielding from Washington Sundar! Full ball on the pads, Sibley flicks it to the backward square leg region. Sundar comes across from fine leg, slides and makes a good stop. Keeps it down to a single.
2.5 : Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, On a length on middle, Crawley flicks it through the square leg region for a couple of runs.
2.6 : Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, Excellent stop by Siraj! Full ball on off, Crawley drives it crisply towards the bowler. Siraj, on his followthrough dives and does really well to stop. He seemed to have hurt himself in the process and is in some pain. He gets up and walks back along with the physio. LUNCH ON DAY 3.
So first mission achieved for England. They have gone through the nervy period unscathed after India got a lead of 160, courtesy a fine batting performance from Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant who scored a century on Day 2. There’s still a long way to go though in the test. The visitors will need a good opening stand. India, on the other hand, just have to be patient and hope their bowlers can do what they have been doing throughout this series. Stay tuned for the afternoon ses

4.4 : Ravichandran Ashwin to Zak Crawley, OUT! CAUGHT AT FIRST SLIP! Ashwin strikes in his first over and this is the perfect start for India in the second session. Crawley's Test is over and he does not create much of an impact. Drinks! India are just 2 wickets away from a victory and it looks like they will end the game today itself. They have bowled superbly and they are on top while England have meekly surrendered. Dan Lawrence has played really well but with only two wickets in hand, they would look to take the lead. Can they? 15 overs are left in the day with one hour to go but the umpires can play for extra half hour if they feel that a result is possible today.

An emphatic win for for the Indians! England have just surrendered! Very poor display of batting once again from their side as they have let India inflict an innings defeat. With this win, India not only win the series 3-1 but also ensure their place in the finals of the WTC against New Zealand.
Once again it was the two spinners who starred for the Indians! Ashwin and Axar bowled almost all of the overs India did in this innings and bagged 5 each and it just took them a little over one session to bowl this English side out. Brilliant bowling performance from the Indian spinners and they have hammered England in this series.
Axar Patel is up for a chat. He says that he could do this after the confidence he got in the first game that he played. Adds that when he and Ashwin were bowling, his plan was to vary the speed and he bowled with the same speed in the last two Test matches. Goes onto say that when he came back to the dressing room, he did not get time to talk to Washington Sundar after India's innings but will have a chat with him now.
Washington Sundar comes up now. He says that he is very happy to win the series and he is very happy to contribute. States that he is not disappointed on missing out on a hundred and his time will come later on. States that if the team could succeed because of his performance, that makes him happy. Says that the pitch was very good to bat on and it was doing something on Day 2 but they all felt that the wicket was good overall and it was also a challenging wicket.
Rishabh Pant, the MAN OF THE MATCH, says he feels the hardwork he has put in is paying off and that has also given him confidence. Mentions his batting performance has given him the confidence to keep well. States his knock was important as they were in a tough situation when he came out to bat and he is happy about his performance. Adds he has always wanted to enjoy while playing and that is what is in his mind all the time.
Right then! Virat Kohli lifts the trophy and India take the series 3-1 and have booked a place to face New Zealand in the WTC final to played in June, 2021. England, on the other hand, have been outplayed and they will look to come back stronger in their next series. Tests are done now and it is time for the limited-over series. First up is the T20Is which will be played in Ahmedabad. The first one is on 12th March 2021 at 1900 local (1330 GMT). Do join us for that. Until then, cheers and take c
England, on the other hand, should have done better not only in this innings but in this Test. They won the toss again and elected to bat but did so poorly. They should have scored a lot more than 205 on a wicket which was not that bad to bat on. However, no batter showed application and the willingness to grind it out in the middle. It was a combined effort from the Indian bowlers to restrict England to a low score in the first innings.
The visitors then bowled well and did keep themselves in the game but the Indian lower order, Pant, Sundar and Axar added more than 200 runs to put India in the driver's seat. Once a big lead was taken, it was always going to be difficult for England to get back in the game and they ended up surrendering quite easily. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony.
Ravi Shastri is up now for a chat. He says that when youngsters are coming through the ranks, it is pleasing to see. Adds that what Pant and Sundar did was amazing and they have worked really hard to get to the top of the table. Says that the boys just took one series at a time and they were not bothered about the WTC final. Says that they deserved to be in the final. Goes onto say that the first Test in Chennai would have been different had they got more rest but does not take the credit away
Joe Root, the England skipper, says that the first positive was the first Test but they could not match India in the rest. Adds that they will continue to learn and believes that they will become a better side from this experience. States that India managed to take home the advantage at crucial times and the partnership between Sundar and Pant was magnificent. States that India outplayed them and wishes India best of luck for the final. Goes onto say that Ahmedabad has a brilliant stadium and it
Ravichandran Ashwin, the MAN OF THE SERIES, says that the fact that they have qualified for the WTC final is pleasing and after they lost the first Test, the intensity was low but they have come back well. Adds that the players stood up and they have had a good series win. Tells that the last four months have been very good for him and he was not in good form with the bat but in Chennai, the moment arrived and he scored a century. Says that the kind of confidence the team management gave in him
Virat Kohli, the INDIAN SKIPPER, says the comeback after the loss in the first Test pleased him the most, England outplayed them in the first game, the toss became very crucial in the first Test but from the next game onwards it became more interesting and the comeback pleased him the most.
