What a comeback from Mumbai! They only conceded seven runs in the last two overs and picked up five wickets to bundle Delhi out for 172. Before that, Delhi were looking good to go beyond 190, but the bowlers stepped up and the away team will be the happier side going into the break.
Delhi got off to a decent start with Prithvi Shaw playing some lusty blows before getting out. Then it was David Warner and Manish Pandey who steadied the ship for a bit, but Pandey could not stick around for long. They lost their way in the middle as they kept losing wickets, but just like in all the other matches, Warner held one end and registered another half-century. Feels that 172 is a challenging total on this wicket and hopes to defend this total.
Mumbai, on the other hand will have mixed feelings about their bowling performance. They got an early breakthrough, but could not build on them. However, Piyush Chawla absolutely brilliant in the middle overs and got rid of the middle order alone. They were a bit sloppy in the field and dropped crucial chances which has cost them some extra runs. Earlier in the game, after Rohit Sharma called it right and opted to bowl first, Delhi did lose Prithvi Shaw early but David Warner and Manish Pandey kept the scoreboard ticking by scoring freely.
