As I said had Aus started batting like this 2 hours ago they'd have been able to declare tonight & have batted Ind out of the game #INDvsAUS

RG Sharma to Marsh, OUT, caught in the deep! He had run down the track, got down on his knee and slugged the ball hoping to beat long-on but holes out to the man.
MR Marsh c Vijay b RG Sharma 40 off 26 balls
KV Sharma to Warner, OUT, bowled off the switch hit and Karn picks up Warner again! It was a bit too full and the drift slid the ball under the bat, through his legs and onto his stumps. End of a top class innings from one of Australia's best batsmen right now
DA Warner b KV Sharma 102 (271m 166b 11x4 1x6) SR: 61.44

It looks like the openers have identified Karn Sharma's bowling and are capitalizing on it.

— Abhijit Banare (@AbhijitVirgo) December 12, 2014

Lunch- Day 4
Australia end at 32/0 in 10 runs, going ahead by 105 runs
8 overs- 25/0. Karn Sharma bowls well as batsmen manage just two runs.
Commentators believe that the pitch's unpredictability is surprising as on Day 4 the pitch offers so much turn, bounce. Batting becomes harder.
Indian seamers bowling fuller. Change in lengths.
Bengal should be proud of the two sons - Shami and Saha, playing for India together, that too in Australia. #IndVsAus
— Sanjib Chakravorty (@isanzc) December 12, 2014

Karan Sharma is going to be our lethal weapon. Well I wish so #IndvsAus

Australia take a 73-run lead as India collapses for 444.
#India all out for 444, losing five wickets for 45 runs on the fourth morning. @CricketAus lead by 73. #INDvsAUS
— (@Hassam420) December 12, 2014
Quadruple Nelson! Scoring 444 & conceding a 73 run lead is by no means game-losing. Not bad India, All results still possible. #INDvsAUS
— Arjun Rangarajan (@Hungarious_Jun) December 12, 2014
WICKET! And India lose the tenth wicket as Mohammed Shami is taken at first slip by Watson. It was a good length ball outside off and Shami, as has been his gameplan today, slogs. Gets a bottom edge that deflects to the cordon. Watson dives low to his left, making no mistake in taking that one. Mohammed Shami c Watson b Siddle 34 off 24b
Shami providing some entertainment with the bat #propertailender #INDvsAUS
— Sonal (@SonalHirani95) December 12, 2014
@cricketaakash what @ShaneWarne must be thinking? When these spinner are doing welll against India #INDvsAUS
— JJ (@jjvyakyam) December 12, 2014
Indian players really need to learn how to play off spinners. Making an average bowl look tremendous #INDvsAUS
— Gunjan Vaswani (@gtv58) December 12, 2014
Nathan Lyon spun a web of wickets in the morning session on Day 4 to ensure collapse of Indian tailenders. The Oz off-spinner gets a fifer bowling 36 overs to give away 134 runs.

Lyon wreaks havoc in the lower Indian batting order.
Lyon strikes again! This time he dismisses Saha. WP Saha c Watson b Lyon 25 off 68 balls
Ishant Sharma and Varun Aaron now left to bat.
Now the outcome of this match looks inevitable i.e. australia winning. Last 3 wont survive for much. #INDvsAUS
— Ripudaman Singh (@RS__Rathore) December 12, 2014
Bowled. Tail def feeling extra long without any of Buvi, Ashwin or Jadeja. Just need to support Saha for another 30-40 runs.#INDvsAUS
— Arjun Rangarajan (@Hungarious_Jun) December 12, 2014
OUT! Siddle cleans up Karn Sharma. Kisses his black armband after landing a really full delivery that catches Karn on the crease and forces him to play across with the ball crashing into the middle stump
KV Sharma b Siddle 4 (8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00
Nathan Lyon getting some good turn here. From someone who doesn't really turn it a lot he's getting his money's worth. #INDvsAUS
— Andy Brennan (@silverbrenno) December 12, 2014
Nathan Lyon is bowling beautifully. Hopefully Karn Sharma can rip a few next innings. #IndvsAus
— Arjun Rangarajan (@Hungarious_Jun) December 12, 2014
109 overs- 401/6
WICKET! India has lost their flamboyant batsman Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai Indians batsman tried to nudge Nathan Lyon's delivery, only to unsuccessfully return it to the bowler's hand who had to dive low to his right to remove the batsman. RG Sharma c & b Lyon 43 off 89 balls
That is d problem of R.Sharma, after getting settled down thrown his wicket cheaply #IndvsAus :(
— Sandip Karmakar (@Sndpkarmakar) December 12, 2014
Oh Rohit, why must you delight and disappoint so much so often? #INDvsAUS
— Shiamak Unwalla (@ShiamakUnwalla) December 12, 2014
Turning the TV on just as a wicket falls. Worsst feeling. #INDvsAUS
— Arjun Rangarajan (@Hungarious_Jun) December 12, 2014
Peter Siddle comes in for Mitchell Johnson. But here's our poll question:
Nathan Lyon comes into the attack after two boundaries were struck in the last over. India are at 387/5.
This guy is eerie:
Never thought I'd ever say this, but... it is time to bring on Lyon. #INDvsAUS
— Paul Dennett (@IndiaInOz) December 11, 2014
The ball isn't moving a lot, and India seem reasonably comfortable at this point. But who will crack first in this waiting game? Another maiden over, India 377/5.
Oh! Wriddhiman Saha gets struck on the back hand from a Mitchell Johnson bouncer. This bowler is really dangerous, Kohli or not. Saha's also got a chest guard. India are 374/5, because Saha survived that over.
This almost happened:
Really really can't afford to lose anymore wickets india #INDvsAUS
— Surina Mawkin (@_ssurina) December 11, 2014
And play begins on Day 4. It's Ryan Harris bowling to Rohit Sharma, who's batting on 33. Wriddhiman Saha is on 1.
Welcome to the LIVE coverage of Day 4 of the 1st Test between India and Australia, at the Adelaide Oval.
India staged a good fightback on Day 3 after Australia had declared on their overnight score of 517/7. India's hero was their captain Virat Kohli, who scored a fluent 115 despite being hit on the helmet with a Mitchell Johnson bouncer.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who had a horrid series in England along with Kohli, also came along with a sedate 73, and Murali Vijay made 53. India's score at the end of Day 3 stands at 369/5, with the visitors trailing by 148 runs.
While India's hopes of creating a winning situation are very bleak, they would be looking to add at least another 100 runs to put a degree of pressure on the Australian batting. India have to bat last, so they would be happy to give the Australians lesser time and runs to play with.
