Mumbai Indians have totally outplayed Chennai today. Mumbai were almost flawless in their batting display, piling up 202. The bowling - Malinga and McClenaghan in particular - then denied CSK even a whiff of a victory. CSK were never in the game after the 1st over when they got Parthiv Patel out.
Mumbai Indians have made a terrific comeback to win the IPL, after losing the first four games. Rohit, Pollard, Malinga, McClenaghan all came together to help Mumbai win 10 of their last 12 games to win the trophy.
Over 20
Vinay Kumar.
Hip high full toss and driven to sweeper cover for one.

Short and wide outside off, Mohit Sharma swings hard and gets six to deep point.

OUT! Pawan Negi is gone. Short ball, waist high, but slow. Pawan is early into the shot and top edges it to square leg, where the fielder takes the catch. CSK 134/7.

FOUR. Smith goes hard at a ball outside off and finds the extra cover fence off an edge.
This time Vinay Kumar cuts Smith in half. Smith should have been playing the ball off the front foot, but he stays back and tries an ugly slog that is more appropriate in school cricket. The ball passes between him and the stumps to the keeper.
Poor batting. Raina stays back to a full ball. The ball pitches lower and doesn't rise, Raina jumps and tries to get his bat. Makes no contact and the ball goes through to the keeper. CSK 31/1 after 6 overs.

Hussey continues to drive outside off and find nothing but air. 1 off 3 balls so far as CSK's required rate creeps closer to 12.

Mumbai Indians have finished on an imposing 202 after 20 overs. Their run rate stayed between 9 and 11 throughout the innings, but they would have hoped for about 15 more runs. However, 202 is a huge score in a final. Mumbai are favourites now to lift the IPL trophy.

SIX. What a shot. AB de Villiers shot. Rayudu goes across to the off side, and the ball is wide outside off. He gets down on one knee and then sweeps the ball over long leg for six! The timing was not great, but these bats.
Ah, now he gets just a single. Mohit bowled outside the white line but Rayudu played at it anyway.

SIX. Incredible shot by Rayudu. The ball was well outside off stump but it sat up, and Rayudu played a half-pull, half-sweep over deep midwicket for six.
Good fielding from Pawan Negi prevents an off drive from Rayudu going for four.
This ball is short and comes fast onto Rayudu. He pulls anyway with gumption. The ball beats the fielder running back and lands right in between him and deep midwicket. Two runs. MI 146/3 after 15 overs.

Rohit slams the ball over midwicket, but wide long on comes spearing in to stop the boundary. And does it with discomfort.
Rohit slashes at a good length ball two stumps outside off. He gets a thick edge which is prevented from going to the fence by some acrobatics at short third man.

Mohit Sharma comes into the attack. His first over went for 16.
Ambitious cover drive from Rohit. He intended to split the gap between deep cover and long off but ended up curving it only enough for the long off to run wide to stop it.
DROPPED. Slower short ball from Mohit. Simmons plays early, and gets a leading edge. The ball scoops to point - or just over. Negi runs and dives but he mistimes his dive and drops. 50 off 35 for Simmons.

Mumbai Indians' journey to the final has been most remarkable, with the team losing its first four matches before going on to win 8 of the next 10 to finish in second place. Then, Mumbai defeated Chennai in the first qualifier to directly qualify for the final.
Chennai on the other hand, have displayed most of their usual consistency while making the final, winning 9 games in the league stage. After losing the first qualifier to Mumbai, they defeated Bangalore by the thinnest of margins to advance to the final.
