What measures do you have in place to make Fashion Street safe?

We have CCTV cameras which keep a close watch on the movement of people inside the market. We also have four mobile vans for patrolling. Four beat marshals conduct cross-patrolling, and I go on rounds in my jurisdiction to keep a watch on miscreants.

What are the precautionary measures taken so far?

We regularly conduct meetings with hawkers of fashion street, and also take action against them when civic body approaches us for bandobast. We have our Anti Terror Cell activated on priority basis and they collect information of suspects and take appropriate action against them.

Are you ready to tackle any untoward incident?

With government offices in the proximity of Fashion street, we ensure that the emergency services are updated. We keep getting intelligence inputs, and also conduct our regular drills to ensure that all the important and concerned agencies co-ordinate. We have a special team of officials who are expert in dealing with such situations. We have police barricades which are used during bandobast.
