| Zimbabwe will be heartbroken with the outcome of this match. As mentioned before, they were ahead on the DL count at the end of the 27th over but the wicket of debutant Ryan Burl proved costly as it pushed Afghanistan ahead. |
| Earlier in the match, a good bowling performance by Zimbabwe restricted Afghanistan to a low total. The chase didn't initiate well for the home team though. The Afghan bowlers didn't let them off the hook by bowling tidy lines and chipped early wickets. Craig Ervine, however, held one end tightly and his 55-run partnership with Burl kept the game in balance. |
| The match was taking an interesting turn but then the heavens opened up and spoiled all the fun. The timing of the rain gods favoured Afghanistan today but it could have gone either way. |
