Match over
0.1 : 0.1: S Sharif to C Gayle, OUT! Yes, he can, he does it off the first ball! It has been edged and taken! What a start, what a start for Scotland. You could not bowl a better ball to Chris Gayle first up. Safyaan comes running in and lands it on a length, it shapes in at first but then straightens a touch. Gayle tries to defend but the ball takes the outside edge and goes into the mitts of the keeper who takes it easily. They appeal and up goes the finger. The Scottish are ecstatic as they have go
2.1: S Sharif to S Hope, OUT! Sharif strikes on the first ball of his second over also! He is breathing fire out there. Once again the perfect outswinger to Hope. He first angles it in on off and then gets it to shape away. Hope is drawn into playing at it as he pokes at it away from his body. The ball kisses the outside edge and the keeper does the rest. Hope walks back dejected. He too bags a duck and the Scottish are all over the Windies here.
4.4 : 4.4: S Sharif to E Lewis, FOUR! Don't bother running for that! A full ball outside off, by Sharif, the first bad ball by him. Lewis pounces on it and strokes it through extra covers for a boundary. the first for the game.
6.5 : 6.5: A Evans to E Lewis, FOUR! All the pressure built off the first four balls has been released by this poor delivery. Short and wide outside off, offers a lot of width. Lewis rocks back and slaps it through covers for a boundary.
7.5: B Wheal to M Samuels, FOUR! Uppish but in the gap, just! Back of a length on off, the bowler once again gets some extra bounce. Samuels goes back and punches it uppishly towards covers. The fielder there dives low to his left and tries to catch it but the ball is just out of his reach and it goes racing to the fence.
13.5: A Evans to M Samuels, FOUR! Short and wide! An opportunity for Samuels and he makes full use of it. Gets on top of the bounce and cuts it over point for a boundary. An expensive over this is turning out to be.
15.2 : 15.2: A Evans to E Lewis, FOUR! Short and it sat up to be hit! A bumper on middle, does not get it to bounce as the bowler would have desired. Lewis rocks back and pulls it hard through mid-wicket for a boundary. The 50-run stand is up between the two. A vital one as Windies were 2-2.
15.4 : 15.4: A Evans to E Lewis, SIX! Just over! The third short ball on middle, Evin once again takes on the challenge of pulling it. He though does not time it that well and it goes towards deep square leg. The fielder there for a moment must have felt he has a chance as he goes running to his right. He jumps with his hands stretched above his head but the ball goes over the fence.
15.5 : 15.5: A Evans to E Lewis, SIX! Back-to-back maximums for Lewis. This time he goes straight. The bowler over compensates and bowls it full on middle. Lewis gets underneath the length and lofts it straight over the bowler for a biggie. 16 from the over so far.
18.6 : 18.6: Tom Sole to M Samuels, FOUR! STREAKY! Marlon won't mind though. This spoils the over however. Sole floats it up on off, turning away. Samuels goes for the expansive drive but the ball takes the outside edge and goes through the first slip region for a boundary.
19.5 : 19.5: M Leask to E Lewis, FOUR! Swept and swept fine! Down the leg side, Lewis goes down on one knee and sweeps it through short fine leg for a boundary.
20.5: Tom Sole to E Lewis, FOUR! Not learning are the Scotland bowlers! Once again down the leg side, a hit-me ball. Lewis obliges as he goes down on one knee and sweeps it through backward square leg to move onto 45.
22.4 : 22.4: A Evans to E Lewis, FOUR! Back-to-back fifties for Evin Lewis, his third in this format. An important knock by the opener as he had to adjust to the situation, waited for the bad balls and has worked his way to a fine half ton. His job is yet not done though, he would look to make it big. He also gets there in style as he drives the full ball on off, over covers for a boundary.
30.2 : 30.2: B Wheal to E Lewis, FOUR! Streaky runs which the Windies won't mind! But the intention is clear here, Lewis is going to try and up the scoring rate. Length ball on off, the southpaw swings hard across the line and gets an inside edge down to fine leg for a boundary.
30.3 : 30.3: B Wheal to E Lewis, OUT! Lewis is gone! Wheal brings about an end to the massive 121-run stand. From around the wicket, it's angled in on a fuller length, Lewis stands his ground and once again looks to go big across the line, misses and is caught flush right in front of the stumps. Loud appeal goes up and the umpire has no problem in raising his finger. Can Scotland inflict further damage from hereon?
31.3: R Berrington to M Samuels, FOUR! Straying on the pads, easy enough for Samuels to help it on its way. A little shuffle across and the tickle which follows is enough to beat the keeper diving to his left.
33.4 : 33.4: M Leask to M Samuels, OUT! SAMUELS DEPARTS! Looked to up the ante and departed in the process. Flighted ball outside off, Samuels charges down and looks to clear the fence. Doesn't middle it and it's a good catch taken by Tom Sole out at wide long off. He runs to his left and pouches it well.
33.5 : 33.5: M Leask to S Hetmyer, OUT! Beauty of a delivery from Micheal Leask! Absolute ripper. Wow. He comes from around the wicket and tosses it up on off. It drifts in at first but then spins away just enough. Shimron Hetmyer is half-forward to play at that and he nicks it behind where Matthew Cross takes it excellently in his gloves.
39.3 : 39.3: A Evans to J Holder, OUT! What a poor shot from the skipper. Poor. Unbelievable that he of all people has done that. Short ball banged in on off, Holder goes back to pull but he's in no position to play that shot. The bounce is too big for him and as a result, he gets it off the splice towards mid-wicket. MacLeod moves to his left and takes the simplest of catches. Holder looks to the heavens, but it's Evans who smiles.
41.5 : 41.5: M Leask to C Brathwaite, SIX! What a monstrous hit! Wow. That's gone out of the park. Tossed up, right in the slot and Brathwaite holds nothing back when smoking this straight back down. Clears the roof and sends it out of the park.
43.5: S Sharif to R Powell, OUT! He's chopped it back on! Sharif has his third of the game. Length ball close to off, Powell looks to play at it but there's some slight inward movement off the seam which does him in. Takes a big inside edge and then crashes into the leg pole.
45.4 : 45.4: R Berrington to A Nurse, OUT! Soft dismissal! Short of a good length outside off, Nurse walks a step across and throws everything at it. Gets an edge which spoons straight to Wheal at short third man.
46.4: A Evans to K Paul, FOUR! Deft. Nicely done from Keemo Paul. He plays this really late, it's on a length around off, connects perfectly and sends it across the third man boundary.
48.2 : 48.2: B Wheal to C Brathwaite, OUT! Carlos Brathwaite, the only man who probably had a few big hits left to hit towards the end of this innings, makes his way back slowly to the pavilion. Length ball cutting back in outside off, Brathwaite spoons a leading edge looking to put bat on ball. It goes towards George Munsey who takes a good diving catch.
48.4 : 48.4: B Wheal to K Paul, OUT! WINDIES HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 198! Excellent delivery from Wheal to wrap things up. Fires in a yorker on leg, Paul looks to flick it away but it's too good for him. Goes off his pads and rattles the stumps behind.
2.2 : 2.2: K Roach to K Coetzer, OUT! There goes the first one and it is a big wicket. The in-form Coetzer departs. A very loose dismissal and the Scotland skipper will be kicking himself for playing that shot. A length ball around off, Coetzer tries to force it through the off side but fails to keep it down. It flies towards Evin Lewis who takes a simple catch, head height. An early wicket for the Windies, just the start they needed defending a below par total. They are all pumped up.
2.6 : 2.6: K Roach to M Jones, FOUR! Top shot! Shortish on off, outside off, Jones rocks back, gets on top of the bounce and punches it through covers for a boundary. The first of the game.
3.4 : 3.4: J Holder to M Cross, OUT! Played on! The Windies skipper strikes. His 15th wicket in this qualifier. Both the openers back in the hut for Scotland now. A short ball which has been so effective for Holder throughout the tournament on off. Cross tries to guide it down to third man but is done in by the bounce. The ball takes the inside edge and goes onto uproot the off pole. Holder is up and running in celebration and the Scots are now in trouble here.
6.1 : 6.1: K Roach to M Jones, OUT! The short ball does the trick for Roach! Third one down and Kemar gets his second. Jones will consider himself a touch unlucky but this shot was not needed. Roach makes use of the crease and bowls it from wide of it. Bangs it short at the body of the batsman. He goes for the pull and does strike it well but straight to the man at fine leg. Powell there takes a step or two ahead and accepts it. The Windies on top now, they need 7 wickets and Scotland need another 176
8.1: K Roach to R Berrington, FOUR! Errs in line and bowls it down the leg side. The batsman does well to flick it very fine down the leg side for a boundary.
13.2 : 13.2: C Brathwaite to R Berrington, FOUR! This time he bowls it a tad fuller outside off, also offers width. Berrington strokes it through covers and the ball races away. 162 more needed.
15.2: C Brathwaite to C MacLeod, FOUR! Really sweet timing but a poor effort by Samuels. A much-needed boundary for Scotland. Short and on off, MacLeod punches it off the back foot through covers. Samuels from that position hares after it. He gets there but puts in a lazy effort with his foot and is not able to stop it. Should have stopped that one, maybe should have gone with his hands.
16.2: K Paul to R Berrington, FOUR! Pulled with authority! Short and on middle, Berrington this time is ready for it and pulls it off the middle and through square leg for a boundary.
21.6 : 21.6: A Nurse to C MacLeod, OUT! Ashley Nurse strikes! The Windies celebrate. Quicker through the air, shorter in length as well and outside off, Calum MacLeod off his back foot punches this back uppishly. Nurse does well to quickly dive low to his left and take it inches above the turf. End of a promising 42-run stand.
22.4 : 22.4: C Brathwaite to G Munsey, FOUR! Edged and straight through! There was a wide slip in place but it's gone between him and the keeper. Length delivery in the off stump channel, Munsey hangs his bat out and the ball goes off the edge safely to the third man boundary.
25.5 : 25.5: A Nurse to G Munsey, FOUR! That's just adding insult to injury. Munsey gets low to this one and reverse sweeps it through short third man for a boundary. Lovely innovation, need more of these from the Scottish batsmen.
26.1 : 26.1: C Brathwaite to R Berrington, FOUR! Beautiful way to start the over. Poor ball, it's overpitched outside off, Berrington leans into the shot and sweetly drives it through the covers for a boundary.
26.3 : 26.3: C Brathwaite to G Munsey, FOUR! This is turning out to be a good over for the Scots. Short and wide outside off from around the wicket, Munsey rises on his toes and then slaps the cut through point to send it across the rope.
27.2 : 27.2: A Nurse to G Munsey, FOUR! Munsey is taking the attack to the bowlers now. Brings out the reverse sweep again, sees the fielder is up inside the crease so clears him. Over short third man and away to the boundary line.
27.5 : 27.5: A Nurse to G Munsey, FOUR! Another reverse sweep and another boundary. What will Jason Holder do now? George Munsey is asking a lot of questions and making him think. Brings out the innovative shot again, hits it over Chris Gayle's head at short third man and finds the fence.
31.4 : 31.4: A Nurse to R Berrington, OUT! The finger goes up! But my word, when Richie Berrington walks back and looks at the replays, he's going to feel hard done by. That doesn't look out at all. Landed on off, it spins in sharply and catches Richie on the pads as he misses his flick. The umpire raises his finger in response to the appeal, but he shouldn't have. The naked eye could see it, the replays have confirmed it. Was going way down leg. Windies have caught a lucky break, Scotland lose an impo
32.6 : 32.6: J Holder to M Leask, FOUR! What a shot from Michael Leask! Full and outside off, Leask just thrashes this through the gap in the covers and finds the fence with ease.
34.3 : 34.3: J Holder to M Leask, FOUR! Up and over! Streaky but Leask will take it. A huge risk by Leask but it pays off. A short ball on middle, Leask goes for the pull but gets a top edge which goes over the keeper and into the fence. 79 from 93 needed.
