Match over
1.5 : 1.5: M Hafeez to E Lewis, SIX! Lewis gets into the act! Short and outside off, Lewis stays deep in his crease and pulls it with brute power over the mid-wicket region for a biggie.
2.2 : 2.2: I Wasim to E Lewis, OUT! Shehzad claims a brilliant run out! On the pads, Lewis clips it on the leg side. He rushes for the first run and calls for the second. The fielder from long on rushes to the ball, picks it up quickly and nails it at the striker's end. That's a direct hit and the umpire go upstairs to check it. Replays show that Lewis was struggling and he could not reach in time. Shehzad has made it count on the field.
2.6 : 2.6: I Wasim to C Walton, FOUR! Good shot! Short and wide outside off, Walton cuts it through the point region for a boundary.
4.3 : 4.3: H Ali to C Walton, SIX! In the arc...out of the park! Full delivery in the line of the stumps, Walton smacks that over the mid-wicket region for a biggie. Brilliant shot!
5.1 : 5.1: S Tanvir to M Samuels, FOUR! Free gifts! Good length delivery into the pads, Samuels stays in his crease and plays it fine down the leg side for a boundary.
6.3 : 6.3: I Wasim to M Samuels, OUT! SAMUELS IS GONE! Although, he was way down the track and it looked like it would go down leg. Dicey call. Flat ball on leg, Marlon steps out and looks to slog it over mid-wicket. Is rapped on the back pad and there's a loud appeal for a leg before. Surprisingly, the umpire raises his finger and the West Indies no.3 batsman is gone. That's a big wicket for Pakistan.
7.2 : 7.2: S Khan to C Walton, OUT! Shadab Khan strikes on his very second ball. His first wicket in international cricket! He loops it up and bowls a terrific googly, Walton prods forward to defend but is rapped on the front pad. Loud shouts for an lbw go up and the umpire, after contemplating long and hard, raises the dreaded finger. West Indies have lost their third wicket, in a spot of bother now.
7.4 : 7.4: S Khan to L Simmons, OUT! HE'S DRAGGED IT ON! Shadab Khan with his second wicket of the over. What a start he's having to his career. He loops this on off, Simmons kneels down to paddle it away but ends up getting an inside edge. It goes back and takes the off stump with it. Another wicket down and Pakistan are right on top of this game.
9.2 : 9.2: S Khan to S Narine, OUT! 3-FER FOR SHADAB KHAN! What a way to introduce yourself on the big stage. He tosses it up outside off, Narine once again brings out the slog sweep. Gets the height, but not the distance. Skies it towards Imad Wasim at wide long on who takes a well-judged catch just inside the rope. Half the Windies side is back in the hut and they've not even touched the 50-mark yet.
10.4 : 10.4: H Ali to R Powell, FOUR! First boundary of T20I cricket! Short delivery and Powell camps back in his crease and pulls that one over the mid-wicket region for a boundary.
10.5 : 10.5: H Ali to R Powell, OUT! Powell has to walk back! Off cutter bowled on a fuller length, angling from around off at 120 kph. Powell gets beaten for lack of pace as he fails to clip it on the leg side. Gets rapped on the back pad and then the players appeal. The umpire obliges them as he raises his finger. The debut knock comes to an end quite early.
12.2 : 12.2: W Riaz to K Pollard, FOUR! Short delivery outside off, Pollard pulls it with one hand through the mid-wicket region. Imad Wasim covers some distance and makes a fine stop. He does all of it right but while picking it up, he touches the ropes while getting up. Lucky boundary.
16.1 : 16.1: W Riaz to K Pollard, OUT! POLLARD DEPARTS! Wahab has bowled to the plan and got his man. Banged in short on middle and leg, Pollard pulls this away against the wind. Hits it flat and it's straight into the hands of Imad Wasim at deep square leg. Kieron is out of here and Wahab has a wicket to his name.
16.3 : 16.3: W Riaz to C Brathwaite, SIX! WHAT A HIT FROM BRATHWAITE! "Give me something to celebrate" says somebody in the crowd and Carlos obliges. Wahab bangs it in really short, the West Indian skipper makes room and reaches out over his head. Top edges it but gets a lot of power behind it. It skies.... Really skies and clears the long on fence with ease. Brute force! That's a biggie.
16.6 : 16.6: W Riaz to C Brathwaite, FOUR! THAT'S SMACKED! Good over this for WI, 11 runs have come off it. They need more of these. High full toss outside off, Carlos Brathwaite smashes it through extra cover and sends it all the way to the boundary line.
17.6: H Ali to J Holder, FOUR! The line is poor and Hasan Ali pays the price. Slower one on the body, Brathwaite pulls it down towards fine leg and sends it across the rope for a boundary.
18.1 : 18.1: W Riaz to C Brathwaite, FOUR! Excellent shot. Knew where the fielders were and placed his short to perfection. Knelt across to this full delivery and paddles it through backward square leg for a boundary.
18.2 : 18.2: W Riaz to C Brathwaite, SIX! That made an incredible sound off the bat! What a hit. Shortish on the body, Brathwaite stands tall and with all his might, pulls it over the mid-wicket boundary and sends it sailing into the stands. The 100 comes up for West Indies. 10 runs off the first 2 balls. Wahab Riaz under pressure here.
19.5 : 19.5: S Tanvir to J Holder, DROPPED AND FOUR! Poor from Hasan Ali, did not anticipate the ball well at all. Jason Holder pulls this short ball over square leg. Hasan Ali out in the deep comes running in first and tries to settle himself under the ball but fails to do so. He spills it behind, it falls just inside the rope and that will be a boundary.
19.6 : 19.6: S Tanvir to J Holder, OUT! And that's the end of the innings! Jason Holder lofts this length ball on the stumps towards mid off where Mohammad Hafeez takes the simplest of catches. WEST INDIES FINISH ON 111/8!
0.6 : 0.6: S Badree to A Shehzad, FOUR! Timed to precision! Short and around off, Shehzad stays in his crease and cuts it fine through the point region. Rovman Powell gives it a chase to stop the boundary but the ball wins the race. He barges into the hoardings.
1.6: J Holder to K Akmal, FOUR! Akmal takes on the charge! On a fuller length around off, Kamran Akmal senses the length well as he goes to lofts it over the extra cover region. Manages to get an inside edge over covers for a boundary. Risky but gets away.
2.5 : 2.5: S Narine to K Akmal, FOUR! Loose from Narine! Short and wide outside off, Akmal stays deep in his crease and slashes it through point for a boundary.
4.2 : 4.2: J Holder to A Shehzad, FOUR! Brute! Short delivery into the body, Shehzad dances down the track and smacks that powerfully through the mid-wicket region for a boundary.
4.3 : 4.3: J Holder to A Shehzad, OUT! Shehzad departs! Another delivery on a shorter length around off at 124 kph, Shehzad stands tall in his crease and tries to feel it outside off. Gets beaten by the away movement as he manages to nick it straight to the keeper. Holder draws first blood.
4.5 : 4.5: J Holder to B Azam, FOUR! Good shot! Short outside off again, Babar gets it in a good position this time and pulls it beautifully through the mid-wicket region for a boundary.
5.1 : 5.1: S Badree to K Akmal, FOUR! Darted on the pads, Kamran sweeps it fine down the leg side, beats the keeper and sends it across the fine leg fence for a boundary.
5.2 : 5.2: S Badree to K Akmal, SIX! Superb shot! Full ball on the stumps, Kamran Akmal makes room for himself by clearing his front leg, goes inside out over the covers and sends it sailing into the stands for a biggie. Marvelously hit, that.
5.3 : 5.3: S Badree to K Akmal, OUT! Kamran departs in search of the big shot. Gets a full toss on middle and leg, he kneels down and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket. Doesn't middle it well at all and it's into the hands of Evin Lewis who runs in and takes a simple catch. Badree has a last laugh. Pakistan lose another wicket. 72 needed off 87 balls.
8.4 : 8.4: C Brathwaite to M Hafeez, OUT! HAFEEZ IS OUTTA HERE! Short and around off, Hafeez looks to pull but gets a big top edge on this one. It balloons towards the vacant silly point position as Brathwaite and Walton both go for the catch. They collide, but the skipper manages to hold on to the ball. They had a little laugh looking at each other but Carlos seems to be hurt. Don't blame him, practically got speared in the rib cage. But Hafeez is gone and Pakistan lose their third wicket.
9.6 : 9.6: S Narine to S Malik, FOUR! Deft from Shoaib Malik. Waits for this, plays it very late as he cuts it away across the third man fence for a boundary.
12.5 : 12.5: K Williams to S Malik, FOUR! Good shot! Short delivery around off, Malik plays an awkward pull shot through the mid-wicket region for a boundary. Lendl Simmon tries to stop it with his legs but fails to do so.
13.3 : 13.3: K Pollard to B Azam, FOUR! One bounce over the ropes! Slower length delivery around off, Azam heaves it towards wide of long on for a boundary. The fielder from long on could not cut it off.
14.2 : 14.2: J Holder to B Azam, FOUR! Improvisation! Short delivery in the line of the stumps, Azam rightly knows the fielding arrangement as he shuffles across to pull it over the short fine leg region for a boundary.
14.6 : 14.6: J Holder to B Azam, OUT! Azam throws it away! Fuller delivery outside off, Azam stays in his crease and goes hard at it to put it over the cover region. He gets an outside edge to it and the ball flies towards the fielder at short third man. Rovman Powell takes a simple catch and Jason Holder raises his hands to celebrate. Can the Windies trigger a collapse?
16.3 : 16.3: C Brathwaite to S Malik, SIX! He's really got hold of that one! BANG! What a hit. Back of a length around off, Shoaib Malik is expecting that one as he hangs back to it. Pulls it high and handsome over the wide long on boundary for a huge maximum. Just 4 runs needed to win this match now.
17.1 : 17.1: J Holder to S Malik, FOUR! That should do it! Shoaib Malik finishes things off in style. Leans into this full length delivery and drives it through the gap in the covers for a boundary. PAKISTAN WIN BY 6 WICKETS WITH 17 BALLS TO SPARE AND LEAD THE SERIES 1-0!
