Though there is no official announcement as yet, the cricket experts of official broadcaster have already started reviewing the performance in the series, gives an idea where are we heading to.
The umpires were there at the ground a little while back taking a stock of the situation, with Indian coach Anil Kumble. It looks quite damp at many places. Surprisingly the ground staff was nowhere to be seen!
Vivian Richards was even more critical, saying some heads need to roll.
Sunil Gavaskar made some scathing remarks about the competency of officials from the host association.
The draw will mean that India will lose their number one place in the ICC Test rankings to Pakistan.
The draw will give India their first 2-0 win in the Caribbean. However, Virat Kohli would have definitely liked to make it 3-0.
The WICB and the host association are to be blamed for not having prepared themselves with adequate covers and mopping facilities. The ICC match referee will definitely mention all these facts in his report.
No play was possible for last three days even though the amount of rain to have fallen was not much. And let me remind you that this was only in the afternoon that rain arrived. The weather was perfectly fine in the morning on all three days.
“Cloudless clear sky but even than a lot of soggy spots in the ground. The bowling run up is not up to the mark and we may have a delay start depends upon the umpires and match referee.” Says Dujon.
However, we had farcical scenes on the subsequent days as play had to be abandoned in bright sun-shine.
