Match over
0.0 : Hello and welcome for the third game of the tri-series. It's Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh at R. Premdasa Stadium, Colombo. The hosts shocked the world by beating India in the opening encounter and by doing so, they head into this game as favorites. Riding on Kusal Perera's blazing fifty, they toppled the Indians to pull off a great win and start the series on a right note.
Bangladesh, well they are having a tough time in this format. After losing the series at home against the hosts recently, they suffered a hammering at the hands of the Indians in their first game. They need something special tonight if they are to come out victorious. Will they be able to turn things around? Only time will tell.
Before anything else, let me tell you the conditions are not looking good in Colombo as the covers were on a while back due to the rain. But the good news is that they have been peeled off and we won't be having a scheduled toss. Let's hope it clears out soon and we get a full-fledged game. Stay with us as we will keep you posted as and when we get an update.
TOSS - After a 10-minute delay we are all set for the toss to happen. Murali Kartik is alongside the two skippers. Chandimal flips the coin and it comes down in favour of Mahmudullah. Bangladesh opt to bowl!
Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah feels the wicket looks good with a bit of grass on it. Hopes to restrict Sri Lanka to a total that they can chase down later. States with the rain around, they have decided to bowl first. Feels they didn't do that bad against India in the previous game and hopes for a good show tonight. Informs they are going in with the same team.
Sri Lanka skipper, Dinesh Chandimal starts by saying they are really pumped up with the win over India. Adds they would have batted first anyway as they are looking to rack up a big total and put Bangladesh under pressure. Reckons they have certain plans against certain teams and is happy to have executed it to perfection which has helped them gain success since the start of the year. Informs even they are unchanged from their last game.
