0.0 : Hello everyone and welcome to the coverage of the third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo. The hosts posted a challenging score on board in the second encounter and would have been confident of defending it before rain played spoilsport. Upul Tharanga and co. will have to put it behind them and regroup quickly.
The visitors are in a position they are not quite accustomed to - leading the series 1-0 going into the final game. They have never won a bilateral ODI series against the Islanders and this could be their best chance. The last ODI played at this very ground was way back in 2011, so it remains to be seen how the deck behaves. There is a lot at stake, so expect a cracker!
Pitch report - Russel Arnold doing the pitch report reckons that it is a belter of a wicket. There is a lot more grass on the wicket which should help the seamers early in the day. He also adds that spinners will come into play later in the day. Opines that he would look to bowl first with the conditions on offer. Jokes about the par score being 350.
Toss - Bangladesh win the toss and opt to field! They are unchanged from the previous game. Sri Lanka make a solitary change, Seekkuge Prasanna comes in for Nuwan Pradeep.
Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza begins by saying that rain has been a factor in their decision to bowl first. Is hopeful that the grass will help the seamers. Calls it a 250-270 wicket. On the pressure of winning, he opines that pressure is a good thing and it helps them perform. Adds that Sri Lanka batted well on the flat deck in the previous game, they would have also loved to bat first.
Sri Lanka skipper, Upul Tharanga says that even they would have bowled first. States that there is grass on the wicket but it is dry underneath. Opines that SSC is a good batting wicket. Conveys that Kusal Mendis fought very hard in the last match which helped them post a good total. Thinks that there is not too much pressure on them, last game unfortunately got washed out. Feels that it got darker earlier in the last few days but adds that weather is something they can't control.
The players are out in the middle. The two Sri Lankan openers Upul Tharanga and Danushka Gunathilaka are out to bat. Bangladesh begin with Mashrafe Mortaza! Here we go...
0.1 : M Mortaza to D Gunathilaka, WIDE! Starts with a length ball down the leg side, Gunathilaka can't clip it away.

1.4 : M Rahman to U Tharanga, Length ball just around off, Tharanga comes forward and defends it into covers.
1.5 : M Rahman to U Tharanga, Slants it on middle and leg, Tharanga looks to help it on its way but seems to have missed it. The keeper Rahim goes to his right and collects it. The players go up in an appeal but the umpire stays put. Rightly so, as there was no bat there as it went off the thigh pad and the Bangladesh skipper confirms the same by having a word with the umpire.
1.6 : M Rahman to U Tharanga, FOUR! Oh my, what a shot! Full around off, Tharanga just stands tall and drives it with sublime timing past extra cover for a boundary. Superb start for him.

3.5 : M Rahman to U Tharanga, Loud shout for an lbw not given! Fuller in length on the stumps, Tharanga looks to clip it away but misses and is hit on his pads. There is a loud appeal for an lbw but nothing from the umpire. They think of a review but do not go for it as it always looked to be sliding down leg. Interestingly, Mortaza was going at the other end, thinking it was over but we have a ball left.

4.3 : M Mortaza to D Gunathilaka, Did it carry? Nope! Hurls it outside off, Gunathilaka loses his balance as he looks to defend it from his crease. He gets an outside edge which just dips on Rahim. 6.6 : M Hasan to D Gunathilaka, SIX! That was always coming! Gunathilaka was struggling and this time he has taken the aerial route. Mehedi bowls it around off and middle, Gunathilaka kneels down and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket for a maximum.
Double change. Taskin Ahmed replaces Mustafizur Rahman.

M Mortaza to S Lakmal, Shorter in length outside off, pulled over mid-wicket for a couple of runs. The throw comes in at the striker's end and Lakmal dives in time to get into his crease. So the extra ball does not cost that much. Sri Lanka finish their 50 overs with a score of 280/9!
Top effort from both the sides on what looks like a two-paced deck. Bangladesh won the toss and put Sri Lanka in. They though would not have expected what followed as the hosts raced away to a fine start with a 76-run opening stand. The visitors then came back in the game with a flurry of wickets. Kusal Mendis held one end for his side with a fine half century but did not get enough support from the other end.
Once Mendis fell it seemed like Sri Lanka may not get too many as the Bangladeshi bowlers bowled some tight overs. Thisara Perera though ensured that the hosts had a good score on board, thanks to his brisk fifty. The skipper Mortaza was the best bowler for the tourists in terms of wickets as he finished with figures of 3/65 in his spell. Mehedi Hasan bowled a tight spell as the rest were economical but not threatening enough.
Sri Lanka have never lost an ODI series to Bangladesh and will aim to not let go the game from hereon. They have done really well so far but will be aware that the job is not done yet. The Islanders will back their slower bowlers to come good. Bangladesh on the other hand, are on the cusp of something special which should be motivating enough for them to put on a good show. Will the hosts level the series with a win or will Bangladesh script history? Do join us for the chase to find out.

Shakib was having issues with his back which might have led to his wicket as he looke
A lot was expected from Mahmudullah, but Suranga Lakmal got rid of him early. Mehedi Hasan along with Taskin Ahmed stitched together a stand of 54 to frustrate the Islanders. Earlier in the match, Gunathilaka and Tharanga gave their side a dream start - 76 in the first ten overs. Though Bangladesh pulled things back in the middle overs, a breezy knock from Thisara ensured that they posted a par total on board. How important was his knock? Who will be the Man of the Match? Thisara or Kulasekara? Let's find out at the presentation....
Man of the Match, Thisara Perera starts off saying that he is really happy with his batting. He has given his everything in practice. Mentions that he has come back after six months and wants to really do well in the future. Credits his practice sessions for his good show.
Man of the Series, Kusal Mendis (translated from Sinhalese) says that he is extremely happy with his performance. Credits his team for always showing confidence in him.
Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Mortaza says that they were not upto the mark. Opines that they lost the match in the first ten overs of either innings. Says that they lost too many wickets early and adds that Sarkar and Shakib did play well but couldn't carry on. Ends by saying that they will work on their mistakes and try to improve in their next ODI assignment against Ireland.
Sri Lanka captain Upul Tharanga says that his team played really well. Thinks that the run outs cost them the momentum but Thisara Perera played well to bring things back in control. Calls Thisara's knock a very important one. Says that the all-rounder really showed that he can hit the ball really well.
