Kolkata vs Mumbai Live Cricket Score, 5th T20, Indian Premier League 2016, April 13, 2016

KKR 187/5 (20)
Mumbai won by 6 wickets
MI 188/4 (19.1)
Match over
Commentary :
6.0 :

The Strategic Timeout has been called after 6 overs. Kolkata Knight Riders, at 40/1, will be moderately happy with their performance so far. One wicket less and 5-10 runs more would have been an excellent start. But this does not look like a 200-run pitch.

Is Sanjay Manjrekar one of Harsha Bhogle's critics? It seems so right here.

Gautam Gambhir reaches his 27th fifty in IPL. Off 39 balls. KKR are in a really strong position at 107/1 in the 12th over. 190 is possible if they continue the momentum.

6.1 :
5.2 :

Some gyaan from Impact Index Cricket:

Gautam Gambhir was off off the last ball of the previous over, but Colin Munro then offered a half volley to Pathan which was bashed past a flying mid off for four. 174 in 18.2 overs. How many more can KKR get in the last 10 balls?

8.3 :

Hope this warm up actually helps them get a win under their belt. As of now, Kolkata are in a strong position and accelerating despite the wicket of Uthappa.

Mumbai need some more big fielding efforts like this one right here. Coz Andre Russell is already on the rampage.

4.4 :

Mitchell McLenaghan is the new bowler. Robin Uthappa abandons all caution which he had been showing for the first three overs and goes for a pull. He is out because the ball came on to him too quickly. A wicket thrown away. 21/1.

Andre Russell has smacked 3 sixes in his short 9 ball stay. KKR's run rate is over 9. Nearly 5 overs still left. Harbhajan is back to being the mediocre bowler he has been for the better part of 10 years now.

10.5 :

SIX. Gautam Gambhir, after a slow start, is now turning the screws on the Mumbai Indians. KKR have suddenly neared 100 in the 11 over. Suchith is getting hammered, conceding 30 in 1.5 overs.

Manish Pandey reaches his fifty with a single. Off just 26 balls. Mumbai's plan to bowl first has backfired already. Ricky Ponting says he hopes his bowlers would contain KKR to a decent score. He feels it is a good batting wicket - 'easy paced'. But it doesn't look that easy paced to us.

Gautam Gambhir's catch has been dropped. It was a simple chance to Hardik Pandya inside the circle. This is terrible for Mumbai. They don't deserve to be given under 200 to chase. Pretty shoddy with ball and field. However, some late attempts to bowl slower balls are being made now.

Andre Russell is bowled but he has done the damage. 36 off 17 balls. KKR have moved up to 164 in the 17th over.

And apologies, it was Bumrah not Pandya who dropped the catch.

Yusuf Pathan is the new batsman. Ya right.

A good last over from Bumrah sees desperation in the KKR ranks. Colin Munro is run out because Yusuf Pathan refused a second run.

13.6 :

OUT. Manish Pandey has fallen just as the commentators were praising him. KKR are 121/2 in the 14th over. But Mumbai will have to strike a couple more blows quickly if they are not to chase a huge target.

Andre Russell is the new batsman. He can hit the ball a long, long way. Just ask the Indians who played the World T20 semifinal. Nevertheless, Harbhajan gets a wicket and we can all praise him now.

FOUR. A boundary by Suryakumar Yadav to end the innings. It was a reverse sweep and KKR finish on 187/5. A very good score, but Mumbai perhaps pulled it back just a little in the last couple of overs. However, all in all, Mumbai's choice to bowl first has backfired. MI will have to play out of their skins with their out-of-form batting lineup to get to this score.

Gautam Gambhir has the orange cap. He made 64 today and now has scored the most runs in this IPL so far. Manish Pandey's 52 off 29 was the real cracker tonight, though. And those Andre Russell sixes.
