Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi skipper, says his side will bat first on this wicket. He feels his boys are confident with the performances in the last few games. Wants his team to stay calm and not worry about the results. Feels team bonding can only improve with the attitude and character they show on the field. Kane Williamson, the Hyderabad skipper, says he wanted to bat first as well. He hopes that his bowlers can make some early inroads and informs he wasn't sure how the wicket would play. He feels they can still improve in all the aspects and expects his team to adapt quickly to the conditions. What a knock we just witnessed! Pant simply went berserk in the final phase of the innings and just tore apart the Hyderabad attack. He did the bulk of the scoring for Delhi and registered his maiden ton in the Indian T20 League. The Hyderabad bowlers weren't able to execute their plans well in the final four overs as they conceded 67 runs and just managed to pick the wicket of Maxwell.
Earlier in the innings, Delhi after opting to bat first lost both the openers in successive deliveries in the 4th over bowled by Shakib. Error in judgement saw their skipper's back few overs later. Patel and Pant anchored the innings with a steady 55-run partnership. But once Pant lost his partner, he took the onus on himself and clobbered the Hyderabad attack to all corners of the park and helped Delhi post a big total.
