0.0 : Hello and welcome to the 5th game of the Tri-Series in Sri Lanka between India and Bangladesh. We are now at the business end of the tournament with India sitting at the top of the table and the Bangla Tigers down at the bottom. They now can't afford any slip-ups as it would further dent their chances of making it to the finals. They though will be high in confidence heading into this game as they are coming on the back of a brilliant performance. However, their bowling is an issue and they migh
India on the other hand, are back to regular business after a surprise defeat in the first game. After two back-to-back victories, they will look to seal their spot in the final with a win here. Their players are firing on all cylinders and Rohit Sharma will hope for the same. The last time these two sides met, we saw a lop-sided affair with the Men in Blue coming out victorious. One though would predict a better show from the Bangladeshis tonight. Let us hope for an equal display between bat an
PITCH REPORT - Brett Lee says there is no light grass on the surface. Informs there are a couple of cracks which have started to open up in the good length area. Further adds it is a lot drier and mentions it is the third time the wicket has been used. Reckons there will be something for the fast bowlers and later on, there will be something for the spinners. He feels 170-180 will be a good score on this wicket.
Toss - Bangladesh win the toss and they opt to bowl first.
Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah, says the wicket looks dry. He feels the spinners might come into play and thy would look to use the condition. Reckons the wicket gets better as the game progresses. Informs they motivated themselves before the chase in the last game and they are looking forward for this game. Ends by saying they have one change for today as Abu Hider Rony comes in for Taskin Ahmed.
Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, says they would have batted first as they want to prepare for both the situations. He feels the wicket is not going to change a lot and he hopes they bat well. He is happy with the way his team performed in the last game, both with the ball and the bat. Admits it is a new game and they have to start from scratch. (On his own form) He adds he just has to spend a little time in the middle but the performance of the team matters more. States he wants to lead by example

We are done and dusted with the national anthems and now we are all set for the first ball to get underway. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will open the batting for the Indians. Abu Hider Rony will bowl the first over for Bangladesh. He has a slip in place. Here we go...
0.1 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, The left armer starts around the wicket and bowls it short, a slower one outside off. Rohit goes after it but mistimes it to cover-point. It was a loosener but Rohit could not make full use of it.
0.2 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, A good second delivery. The bowler comes running in and bowls it on a length around off, it comes back in sharply. Sharma is done in by the swing and tries to defend it with bat close to pad. The Bangladeshis make a muted appeal but the umpire stays put. Replays however, show it was pad first. It would have been close had the fielding side taken a review.
0.3 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, WIDE! First run for India and it is courtesy an extra. Short and wide outside off, Rohit walks ahead and tries to cut but misses it.
Abu Hider to R Sharma, Fuller in length on off, Sharma defends it.
0.4 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
0.5 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, Sharma is off the mark! He taps this length ball on off, towards cover for a quick run.
0.6 : Abu Hider to S Dhawan, Another slower ball on off, defended to point. A couple off the first over, a good one by the bowler.
Nazmul Islam will bowl the second over.
1.1 : N Islam to R Sharma, Slower through the air on off, Sharma who is quite watchful guides it to point.
1.2 : N Islam to R Sharma, FOUR! First of the match! Very slow and on the shorter side on the stumps. Rohit Sharma has all the time in the world to rock back and whip it through wide mid on for a boundary.
1.3 : N Islam to R Sharma, Shortish on off, cut towards point. Rohit wanted a run but is rightly sent back by Dhawan.
1.4 : N Islam to R Sharma, Drags his length back outside off, Sharma cuts it hard but straight to the point fielder. He should have put that away as there was width on offer also.
1.5 : N Islam to R Sharma, Flatter but on the shorter side, pushed down to long off to change strike.
1.6 : N Islam to S Dhawan, FOUR! Second of the over! A good way to get off the mark for Dhawan. Short and down the leg side, this is the bowler's sixth consecutive short delivery. Dhawan goes on the back foot and paddle sweeps it very fine towards the fine leg fence. 9 runs from this over. A poor over by the spinner, could have been hit for more.
Rubel Hossain is into the attack.
2.1 : R Hossain to R Sharma, Length ball on the stumps, Rohit keeps it out.
2.2 : R Hossain to R Sharma, Back of a length on off, Rohit guides it through backward point. He runs the first one hard but Mustafizur in the deep does well to keep it to one.

2.4 : R Hossain to S Dhawan, Walks down the track and makes it a full toss. He though could not time it as it was bowled at a good pace. It goes towards mid off and the batsmen take a run.
2.5 : R Hossain to R Sharma, In the air... but just out of reach! Rohit almost bagged another failure. Rubel lands it on a length around middle, Sharma tries to go over the top but mistimes it completely. It goes uppishly over the bowler's head and there are two fielders converging for it, one from mid on and the other from mid off. Rony from the former position goes for it with a full stretch dive but can't reach it. A run taken by the batsmen.
2.6 : R Hossain to S Dhawan, FOUR! Trademark Dhawan! Full and on off, a half-volley. Too easy for Dhawan as he leans into it and times it through covers to end the over with a boundary.

3.2 : M Rahman to S Dhawan, On a length around off, kept out.

3.4 : M Rahman to S Dhawan, Good length on middle, cramping Dhawan for room. He eases it down to mid on and takes a single.
3.5 : M Rahman to R Sharma, Good bowling this! Once again hits the length around middle, bowls the cutter. Sharma can't do a lot with it as he just taps it towards mid off for a quick run. Just three singles of this over so far. Can he finish it well?
3.6 : M Rahman to S Dhawan, SIX! No, he can't! What a hit, son! Dhawan comes down the track, expecting a slower one and he gets it. He sends it sailing over the bowler's head and he has hit it well enough for it to go all the way. First of the game.

4.6 : M Hasan to R Sharma, Very full and wide outside off, Rohit squeezes it through point. Liton Das gives it a chase and saves a run for his team.
Abu Hider Rony is back into the attack. He will bowl the last over of the Powerplay.
5.1 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, FOUR! Full points to the bowler there but runs for the batsman. A slower ball which completely deceives Rohit. He tries to force it through the off side but gets an outside edge through the vacant slip cordon for a boundary.
5.2 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, Shortish on off, guided towards point for a run.
5.3 : Abu Hider to S Dhawan, Good bowling! He sees Dhawan giving him the charge and bowls a slower one on middle. Dhawan adjusts and guides it towards point for a run.

5.6 : Abu Hider to S Dhawan, FOUR! Dhawan takes full toll of it! A full ball on off, Shikhar lofts it over the mid off fielder for a boundary. A good Powerplay for India, they are 49 for no loss.

6.2 : N Islam to S Dhawan, Floats it up on off, worked towards mid-wicket.
6.3 : N Islam to S Dhawan, DROPPED AND FOUR! That has been horribly misjudged by Liton Das! Dhawan comes down the track and tries to go big over the leg side. He however, only gets elevation but no distance. It goes towards deep mid-wicket where Das does not judge it and then dives to his right with his hand stretched out. He gets his hand to it but can't hang on. To add salt salt to the wound it rolls away for a boundary. A reprieve for Dhawan, he has been in form, bow costly will this prove?
6.4 : N Islam to S Dhawan, The batsman has driven it through mid on.
6.5 : N Islam to S Dhawan, A huge appeal! Dhawan goes for the sweep but misses and is hit on the pads. The bowler appeals but the umpire shakes his head. The impact was outside off.

9.5 : R Hossain to S Dhawan, OUT! A CORKER OF A YORKER! What a delivery by Rubel Hussain. That dropped catch has not cost Bangladesh a lot. Liton Das will surely be breathing a sigh of a relief here. Rubel comes steaming in and bowls an effort delivery. A yorker to be precise and also gets it to tail away from leg stump. Dhawan plays all around it and misses it to see his middle stump get knocked out. A brilliant sight for the bowler and a much-needed wicket for the bowling side. They have broken
Suresh Raina is the next man in.
9.6 : R Hossain to S Raina, Raina almost got dismissed off his first ball! He gets a ball down the leg side, Raina flicks it uppishly towards fine leg. The fielder there has to make up his mind quickly whether to go for the catch or not. He does not go for it and lands it on the bounce. He should have take a chance there, he might have got to it.
10.1 : N Islam to S Raina, A full toss, a gift for Raina. He though is surprised by it as he hits it back to the bowler.
10.2 : N Islam to S Raina, Tosses it up on off, defended.

11.5 : M Rahman to R Sharma, Down the leg side this time, pulled straight to short fine leg. The batsmen take off quickly and complete the run.

12.3 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, FOUR! That's a very good shot from the Indian skipper! Too full from the left armer, Rohit is able to get low to it and sweep it over short fine leg for a scintillating boundary.
12.4 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, Fifty for Rohit Sharma! His 13th in this format and a much-deserved one. He needed this. He comes down the track and hits it through covers.
12.5 : Abu Hider to S Raina, Hangs back and offers a firm punch through the covers for one more.

13.3 : M Hasan to S Raina, SIX! Connects this one to perfection! BANG! Tossed right up there by Hasan, Raina gets down to this one and slog sweeps it high and handsome over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
13.4 : M Hasan to S Raina, FOUR! That's blasted away! Raina holding nothing back on that. He dances down the track, gets close to the pitch and hammers it straight back down the ground for a boundary.
13.5 : M Hasan to S Raina, Stays back to this one spinning away from around off and plays it to point.
13.6 : M Hasan to S Raina, Straighter one on off, takes the inside edge of Raina's bat and thuds onto his pads.

14.2 : R Hossain to R Sharma, Right in the blockhole. Good delivery, but equally well played by the Indian captain. He digs it out down to long on and takes just the one this time.
14.3 : R Hossain to S Raina, Makes sweet connection but unfortunately for Raina, it's straight to the fielder. He backs away to the full swinging ball and drives, finds extra cover though.
14.4 : R Hossain to S Raina, FOUR! Edged and away! Short ball banged in, Raina clears his front leg and takes on the pull, but gets a top edge over the keeper's head. Mustafizur from fine leg comes across to cut it off, but his sloppy effort allows the ball to go through him and away to the fence behind.
14.5 : R Hossain to S Raina, FOUR! Consecutive boundaries for Suresh Raina! He picked this up perfectly. Expected the yorker to come, so he leaned ahead and just lofted it over mid on for a boundary.
14.6 : R Hossain to S Raina, Brings the wrists into play as he turns this through wide mid on. The man in the deep cuts it off and keeps the batsmen to two. Good over for the Indians, 13 runs off this one.

15.1 : Mahmudullah to R Sharma, Starts off from around the wicket and darts it across the right-hander. Rohit Sharma waits for it before he cuts it square on the off side for a run.
15.2 : Mahmudullah to S Raina, FOUR! And the 50-stand is up! Brought up in superb style by Raina. Dropped short, he goes deep inside his crease, positions himself well for the pull and executes the placement to perfection as he beats the two men out in the deep to the mid-wicket fence.
15.3 : Mahmudullah to S Raina, Spinning away from around the off stick, knocked to the long off fielder for a single.
15.4 : Mahmudullah to R Sharma, Mistimed shot but no harm done. Rohit comes down the track, goes for the big hoick but can't connect properly. Plays it down towards wide long on and rotates strike.

15.6 : Mahmudullah to R Sharma, Punched off the back foot by the batsman. The batsmen have run through for a single.
Mustafizur Rahman to bowl again.
16.1 : M Rahman to R Sharma, Cutter on leg, Sharma looks to flick it away through mid-wicket but instead spoons a leading edge to long off. Easy single taken. Unable to middle it, Rohit. He's had to work hard for his knock so far. Hanging in there, which probably is the most important given Raina is hitting them well.
16.2 : M Rahman to S Raina, FOUR! Beautiful! He's such a delight to watch when he's in full flow. Short ball just outside off, Raina cuts this over short third man and picks up a boundary.
16.3 : M Rahman to S Raina, Just behind a length, punched away through towards sweeper cover for one.
16.4 : M Rahman to R Sharma, SIX! Might be struggling, but he's connected this one really well. Full ball on the pads, Sharma kneels down and brings out the slog sweep. Dumps it over square leg and into the stands, where a spectator manages to take the catch. Nicely done, good man. Maybe the Tigers could have used him on the field.
16.5 : M Rahman to R Sharma, The batsman has driven it through mid off. The batsmen have run through for a single.
16.6 : M Rahman to S Raina, Shorter on off, the southpaw backs away and places the punch to sweeper cover for a single.

17.1 : Abu Hider to S Raina, Just back of a length outside off, slashed to point. One run added to the total.
17.2 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, SIX! Another big one for Rohit Sharma! Right off the meat. Short ball angling in from around the wicket, the opener stands tall and takes on the pull. Connects well and muscles the pull over mid-wicket for half a dozen.
17.3 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, Good comeback from the bowler. Fires in a yorker on middle stump, Rohit digs it out off the inside edge past the leg stump behind. One run taken.
17.4 : Abu Hider to S Raina, SIX! Raina's been immaculate since he's walked out in the middle. This isn't that short, but he still takes on the pull off the front foot. Swings hard and sends it sailing over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum.
17.5 : Abu Hider to S Raina, In the blockhole from Abu Hider, it's driven down to long on for one.
17.6 : Abu Hider to R Sharma, SIX! Rohit Sharma, you beautiful, beautiful man! Speechless at this. His power hitting is just something else. High full toss, not enough for the umpire to signal a no ball. Rohit swings hard across the line and it's high into the night sky. Has the height and the distance as well as it clears the mid-wicket boundary with ease.
18.1 : M Rahman to S Raina, Takes Raina by surprise with the bumper. Well directed, no shot offered by the batsman.
18.2 : M Rahman to S Raina, Mistimed pull to this short ball, down to long on for a single.
18.3 : M Rahman to R Sharma, FOUR! Full toss with width on offer outside off, Rohit walks a step across, swings and scythes it over point for a boundary.
18.4 : M Rahman to R Sharma, FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries for the Indian captain! The 100-run stand between these two comes up with that as well. Fine hit by Rohit Sharma. Full toss outside off, he opens the face and runs it down to the third man boundary.
18.5 : M Rahman to R Sharma, Skips down the track to get close to the pitch and hits it down the ground for a single.
18.6 : M Rahman to S Raina, Fuller from Rahman, Raina gets it off the inner half while trying to swing to square leg. One run to end the over. 11 runs off the over.
Rubel Hossain to bowl the last over of the innings.
19.1 : R Hossain to S Raina, OUT! Suresh Raina just misses out on his fifty! Bit unfortunate, played exceptionally well, fully deserved it. But, he's done his job nonetheless. Full on the pads, Raina lofts it over mid-wicket. Not enough distance on this one as it's into the hands of Soumya Sarkar who takes it after moving to his left.
Dinesh Karthik to walk in next to bat.
19.2 : R Hossain to R Sharma, Short of a good length angling in, hits Sharma on the body as he misses his pull. A leg bye is taken as the ball falls on the off side.
19.3 : R Hossain to D Karthik, Quite full, swinging in, smacked down to long on by going deep inside the crease. Karthik is off the mark.
19.4 : R Hossain to R Sharma, Stifled appeal, but the inside edge has saved Sharma there. Inswinging yorker on middle and leg, the batsman swings and gets an edge onto his pads before taking the run.
19.5 : R Hossain to D Karthik, Superb ball. Beautiful delivery as Rubel spears it in the blockhole. Karthik jams it out through to sweeper cover and takes one.
19.6 : R Hossain to R Sharma, OUT! Rohit Sharma is run out! Misses out on a ton and this is an excellent over from Rubel Hossain. Conceded just 4 off it. Full on off, Rohit smashes it hard back to him. Rubel stops it, and since it's the last ball of the over, the batsmen run. This allows the bowler to run back and take the bails off. Rohit is out but it's been a superb knock to say the least from him. INDIA FINISH ON 176/3!
The Men in Blue have a more than satisfactory total on the board. Being put into bat and given the wicket, they needed a good start and that's what they got. Questions were raised about Rohit Sharma's form and today he came out to prove everyone wrong. Make no mistake, he struggled, but he toughened it out there and eventually started to middle it towards the end. He first formed a 70-run stand with Shikhar Dhawan to set the tone, then blew the Tigers away with Suresh Raina, who came in and thwa
Bangladesh were never in this to be honest. Right from the first ball. It's evident from the fact that they only managed to get three wickets, with two coming in the final over of the innings. Rubel Hossain was the standout bowler, having picked up 2 wickets for just 27 runs in his 4-over spell, while Nazmul Islam was good as well. The rest weren't quite up to the mark and leaked runs. The run chase won't be easy now, despite the wicket known to ease out for the batters as the game progresses. L
0.0 : We are back for the chase. Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das will open the innings for Bangladesh, while Mohammed Siraj will take the ball first up. A slip in place for him. Here we go...
0.1 : M Siraj to T Iqbal, Back of a length around off, Tamim cuts hard but straight to the man at point.
0.2 : M Siraj to T Iqbal, FOUR! And he cuts loose! Doesn't waste time in doing so. Short of a good length close to off, Tamim is up on his toes as he slashes this hard over point to find the fence.
0.3 : M Siraj to T Iqbal, Camps back to this good length ball and keeps it out with the full face of the bat.
0.4 : M Siraj to T Iqbal, Just behind a length, around off, Tamim walks down to hit but gets it off the bottom edge towards cover, where a misfield from KL Rahul allows the batsmen to take a single.
0.5 : M Siraj to L Das, Nicely done. Fraction straight in line, Liton Das is off the mark with a brace as he works it through mid-wicket.
0.6 : M Siraj to L Das, Touch wide outside off, guided behind point, down towards third man for a run. Decent first over for the Tigers, 8 off it.
Washington Sundar will bowl from the other end.
And the review is taken. Drama on the first ball of Sundar's spell. Liton Das is the man in question, looks quite safe, but let's see what happens here...
1.1 : W Sundar to L Das, Not out! Wasted review to be honest. Looked clearly not out to the naked eye to begin with. Das gives the charge to this loopy full toss. Misses and is hit high on the thigh pad. Appeal goes up, but nothing from the umpire. The impact is outside off and the batsman is way down the track, but for some reason the review is taken. Maybe Dinesh Karthik asks to take it. It goes upstairs and replays show the batsman is clearly safe. Poor call. The review should never have been
1.2 : W Sundar to L Das, Straighter one on the stumps, worked away on the leg side.
1.3 : W Sundar to L Das, Tossed right up there, blocked off the front foot with the full face of the bat.
1.4 : W Sundar to L Das, FOUR! Great shot! Seeing the batsman give the charge, Sundar drags it wide. But the batsman still hits it across the long off fence for a boundary.
1.5 : W Sundar to L Das, OUT! Sundar picks up a wicket in his first over again. 50th T20 stumping for Dinesh Karthik. Das give the charge once more and this time the bowler darts it wide outside off. Das can't get to it and this allows the keeper to take the bails off with ease.
Soumya Sarkar is in at No.3.
1.6 : W Sundar to S Sarkar, The batsman delicately works it fine down the leg side.
Shardul Thakur is into the attack.
2.1 : S Thakur to T Iqbal, Short of a good length outside off, punched off the back foot into the off side.
2.2 : S Thakur to T Iqbal, FOUR! That's a glorious shot! Fuller in length and well outside off, Iqbal thrashes it through the gap in the covers to find the fence.
2.3 : S Thakur to T Iqbal, FOUR! Two in two for the opener! Full again, wide outside off, Tamim throws the kitchen sink at it and crashes it square through the off side this time for another boundary.
2.4 : S Thakur to T Iqbal, SIX! This has gone all the way! Poor bowling from Shardul though, he needs to get his radar right. Down the leg side, Tamim moves inside the line and lifts it over fine leg for a maximum.
2.5 : S Thakur to T Iqbal, FOUR! 18 off the over so far. Tamim is on fire here. Thakur is being taken for a ride. Just behind a length, it's pulled hard over mid-wicket for one more boundary.

Tamim Iqbal though continued playing his shots and got the Bangla Tigers off to a flier. However, Washington Sundar spun a web around the opposition batsmen as he picked up three big wickets in the Powerplay.
