Two-time Oscar-winning actor Robert Redford has personally invited Aamir Khan to attend the Sundance Film Festival this year. Robert, the founder of Sundance, has shown a keen interest in Aamir’s movies. Since Robert is an active Hollywood producer too, the industry is contemplating that he might rope in Aamir for one of his productions.
Aamir, who has turned down invitations from many film festivals and award functions in the past because of his self-imposed rule of not attending them, will not give this festival a miss. It takes place from January 21 to 31 in the state of Utah, US. Aamir’s forthcoming production Peepli Live has been included in the festival’s competition section.
A source says, “Robert Redford is throwing a gala dinner for his esteemed guests and Aamir is certainly on his guest list. Aamir is travelling to Sundance and he is backing the movie in every way possible since it’s his production. But this dinner date with Robert is being talked about a lot. Gossip has it that Robert and Aamir might team up for a film. This could be Aamir’s maiden Hollywood venture.”
Though Aamir’s public relations officer confirmed that he would be travelling to Sundance, the actor remained unavailable for comment.
