Gill is on strike as Rehan Ahmed delivers the last over of the day. He manages to clip Gill's inside edge, but due to the absence of a short fielder behind the square on the leg side, Gill is able to secure a single and get off strike. Kuldeep then successfully sees out the remainder of the over. As a result, India finishes the day at 196/2.

Another short ball was bowled outside the off stump, but Patdar managed to hit it straight to short mid-wicket.

After a full delivery from Hartley, Gill expertly brushes it to long on for a single. Jaiswal appears fatigued from his aggressive batting performance. He shifts to a defensive strategy to navigate through the remainder of Hartley's over. Ultimately, Jaiswal decides to leave the pitch due to injury, retiring hurt.

Gill takes a quick single, allowing Jaiswal to face the next delivery. Wood delivers a short ball, which Jaiswal expertly guides to the off side for another single, bringing his total to 96 runs. Wood then bowls a short and wide delivery, which Jaiswal confidently smashes through the covers for a boundary. With that shot, Jaiswal reaches his second century of the series.

Jaiswal starts off Root's over with a precise paddle sweep, earning a couple of runs. Root delivers a full ball, which Jaiswal hits straight to deep mid-off, opting not to take any risks. He is now just one hit away from reaching his century.

Anderson replaces Wood. There have been some glimpses of the ball reversing and Anderson will hope to make the most of it. FOUR! Full on middle and off and Gill flicks it on the leg-side. Defended back to Anderson solidly to end the over.

Punched through point by Jaiswal for a single as Wood continues. FOUR! Too full and too wide outside off, and Gill leans into a crisp drive-through cover. Driven again to cover but just a single this time for Gill.

Jaiswal and Gill are back to resume India’s innings after Tea. The hosts are in the driver’s seat, but expect England to spring some surprises. Mark Wood has the ball. Jaiswal dabs behind point for a quick single.

Jimmy Anderson with the new ball for England. Just outside the off stump and Jaiswal shoulders arms to it. Another one on the same corridor. Jaiswal leaves it again. On the pads and Jaiswal touches it to mid on and takes a single. First runs on board for India in this innings. Short from Anderson and Rohit pulls it for a four. Not the greatest connection there

Boom!! And it is over. Siraj, deservedly, strikes the final blow. Full and straight from him and Anderson’s off stick is rattled. England started the day at 207/2 but has crumbled to 319 in just more than a session. Advantage India now!

Hartley brings out a classy cover drive against Jadeja. FOUR!! No width for the rest of the over from Jadeja. 

Siraj now up against Rehan. A short mid on and and a short mid wicket in place. India looking to force an error from the new batter. Siraj draws a thick inside edge out of Rehan. Runs away for a single.

Jadeja reintroduced. Short cover and a slip in place for the left-arm spinner. Foakes on strike. Jadeja fires one in and Foakes slices it to the off side for a single. Stokes now tries to take on Jadeja with a flourishing reverse sweep. Doesn’t connect. Pops off the Jurel’s gloves.

Siraj with the first over of the session. Straight line from Siraj to start with and Stokes defends within the confines of his crease. Siraj getting the ball to nip in, just a bit. Stokes responds by moving out of the crease to defend with a straight bat. Maiden over!

Kuldeep continues. Kuldeep comes around the wicket after four dot balls. FOUR! Change of angles and Foakes flicks it for a boundary through midwicket after stepping out. He defends off the backfoot to end the over.

Kuldeep Yadav from the other end. Tossed up and driven back to Kuldeep by Root. Tucked to short fine-leg for another dot. Root goes back in his crease and defends this to short-leg. Punched off the backfoot through midwicket by Root for a single. Driven to mid-off by Duckett. Tidy over, just one from it.

Devdutt Padikkal is on the field for R. Ashwin. Ben Duckett and Joe Root will resume England’s innings. Jasprit Bumrah to begin the day’s proceedings. Bumrah comes around the wicket. Two slips and a gully. Wide outside off-stump on a fullish length first up and Duckett defends. Angling in a bit towards off-stump and guided past point for a single. Short-of-a-length just outside off-stump and Root shoulders arms. Root defends and the ball goes off the inside half of the bat for a single at fine-leg. Angling down leg-side and well kept by Dhruv Jurel behind the stumps.

Ben Duckett’s power-packed hundred overshadowed R Ashwin’s monumental feat as England reached 207/2 at stumps on day two and will look to counter-attack on day three.
