Match over
8.5 : 8.5: K Roach to Jennings, EDGED! DROPPED! FOUR! All happening here. Roach bends his back to generate extra lift from the surface. It's around off and straightens from there as Jennings stays back to play across the line. It flies off the outside edge to second slip where Roston Chase drops a sitter. It bursts through his hands and goes behind for a boundary. Keaton riding his luck here. Can he make this innings of his count?
16.1 : 16.1: K Paul to Jennings, OUT! Edged and taken this time! At long last, after what seemed like endless hours, with every minute promising a wicket, the Windies have got one. Keaton Jennings was not using his feet much throughout this innings and this time, he has to use them to transport himself back to the pavilion. The change of ball does the trick. Full and outside off, there to be driven, Jennings cannot resist. He goes for the drive, after being so patient for 76 minutes. But no feet moveme
18.2 : 18.2: K Paul to Burns, EDGED, JUST WIDE, FOUR! Nearly a second for the Windies. Full and around off, moving away, Burns looks to drive but is done in by the late away movement. Gets a thick outside edge which flies past a diving third slip to the third man fence.
28.1 : 28.1: K Roach to Denly, FOUR! Edgy four! On the shorter side, Denly throws his bat at it but luckily for him he gets a fat outside edge and over the point fielder. Boundary.
30.3 : 30.3: K Roach to Denly, FOUR! Streaky again but Denly won't mind. Roach looking to hit the pads of Denly as he shuffles across. Joe though gets his bat down in time, it hits the inside edge and races to the fine leg fence.
32.2 : 32.2: Paul to Burns, OUT! No bat there and that is PLUMB! Excellent use of the review there by the Windies and Keemo Paul once again strikes very early in his spell. Good bowling change too. He bowls it slightly fuller and around middle, Burns looks to play across the line which brings about his down fall. The ball straightens a touch, seems to have gone past the bat and hits the front pad. An appeal follows but the umpire shakes his head. Keemo Paul convinces his captain to go for the review. B
33.2: Gabriel to Denly, OUT! Three reds and now England too have lost a review. Not sure why Denly reviewed there, that was plumb, only bat could save him. Windies won't care though as one wicket has brought another for them. Both the set batsmen are back in the hut now. Length delivery this, it is pitched around off and it skids through. Denly goes back and tries to keep it out but ends up playing outside the line. The ball hits the front pad and an appeal, a loud one from the slip cordon but a
35.6 : 35.6: S Gabriel to Buttler, DROPPED AND FOUR! Gabriel can't believe it! Hetmyer is the culprit. He probably should have left it for the first slip fielder who would have had it easier. The tempter, full and outside off, Buttler can't resist and goes after it. The length however was not the right one to look for the drive and hence, the outside edge is induced. It flies in between second slip and first at a good height. Hetmyer in the former position jumps and stretches his left hand out but the
37.6: S Gabriel to Jos Buttler, EDGE AND FOUR! Again! Full and outside off, Buttler goes at it with hard hands, it goes off the outer half and over the point fielder and into the fence.
40.1 : 40.1: K Paul to Root, FOUR! Top class! Full and around off, Root just leans into it and strokes it through covers for a boundary.
41.3 : 41.3: K Roach to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Poor ball and it has been put away! Short and wide outside off, Buttler slaps it through covers and it races away to the fence.
44.1 : 44.1: A Joseph to Root, FOUR! Poor ball and put away! Short and outside off, Root just uses the pace of the bowler and guides it through bakward point for a boundary.
47.5 : 47.5: A Joseph to Joe Root, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! That surely must have been a feather there. The appeal wasn't a loud one, also we here too did not hear anything. Windies will rejoice though as they have got the English skipper. A soft dismissal to be honest. It is short and outside off, Root looks to cut with no foot movement. It takes the faintest of edges and goes to the keeper. A stifled appeal follows and the umpire agrees. Root also walks back without taking the review so there surely mig
51.3 : 51.3: A Joseph to Stokes, FOUR! Almost drags it on! Very lucky that! This one comes back in late from outside off, Stokes looks to cover the swing by playing it with an angled bat. It though takes the inside edge and goes over the off pole and down to the fine leg fence. Stokes by no means has looked convincing after the break here.
52.4 : 52.4: K Paul to Ben Stokes, FOUR! Lovely! Did not try to hit it too hard, just a push and it races away. Keemo is guilty of bowling it a little too full. Stokes with a straight bat times it down to the long off fence.
53.5 : 53.5: A Joseph to Stokes, FOUR! Width offered again and this time Stokes does not miss out. It is way outside off, Stokes throws his bat at it, connects well and it races to the point fence.
55.2 : 55.2: A Joseph to Stokes, FOUR! That made a good sound off the bat! Short and outside off, Stokes slaps it through covers and it races away. This partnership is going along well here.
59.1 : 59.1: S Gabriel to Stokes, FOUR! Into the 40s and the partnership is one short of 50. Short and on off, Stokes stands tall and pushes it through covers. It is right off the middle and it races away.
61.6 : 61.6: S Gabriel to Buttler, FOUR! Short and it has been put away! Outside off, easy pickings for Buttler. He cuts it through point for a boundary.
64.2 : 64.2: R Chase to Jos Buttler, FOUR! What a shot! A lot of risk in that shot as he was playing against the turn but he has executed it to perfection. Chase is guilty of bowling it too full outside off, Buttler reaches out for it and caresses it through the covers for a boundary.
65.3 : 65.3: A Joseph to Buttler, FOUR! Second boundary in the over. A long hop, outside off, Buttler pulls it through mid-wicket. The stand is worth 70 now.
68.4 : 68.4: R Chase to Stokes, FOUR! Fifty for Ben Stokes, he gets there in style! 17th Test fifty for him. He was shaky to begin with but once he got into his own, he has looked good. Right from the start, he has played with good intent on a pitch which has not been easy to bat on and has brought up a very crucial half ton. A knock of great character this. He needs to continue now and make it count. He gets a gift to get to that milestone. Short and outside off, Stokes goes back and slaps it through
71.4: K Paul to Buttler, FOUR! Clever this! A dangerous shot but it comes good for Buttler here. Short and outside off, Buttler plays it late, he guides it through the gap in the slip cordon and a boundary results. 48 now Buttler is on, also the 200 is up. In a strong position now are England.
82.3 : 82.3: K Roach to Buttler, FOUR! Easy-peasy for Buttler. Down the leg side, Buttler helps it on its way and it races to the fine leg fence.
82.5 : 82.5: K Roach to Jos Buttler, EDGY FOUR! Frustrating this for the Windies. On a length and it shapes away. Buttler looks to defend but it goes off the outer half through the slip cordon for a boundary.
85.1 : 85.1: Gabriel to Jos Buttler, OUT! Timberrrr... A 146 kph delivery by Shannon Gabriel has done the trick. He spears it on a length around off and gets it move back in a bit. Buttler plays all around it with a sorry footwork. It goes right through the gate and shatters the stumps. The 125-run stand is broken and Windies have a perfect start to the morning.
86.3 : 86.3: K Roach to Stokes, FOUR! Easy pickings! Roach has been either too far outside off or too close to the pads. This time it's the latter and Stokes helps himself to a boundary by budging it fine on the leg side.
92.4 : 92.4: K Paul to Ben Stokes, FOUR! And it's a no ball as well for overstepping, sixth of the innings, of which, Keemo has bowled five. Amazing indiscipline. Does he look up to Shannon Gabriel for inspiration? Clearly picking the wrong habits of Shannon. Anyway, coming to the delivery, it's short and on middle, Stokes is on top of the bounce as he pulls it behind square leg for a boundary.
93.6 : 93.6: K Roach to Stokes, OUT! Dowrich has taken a stunner! Wow, great athleticism. Roach gets a breakthrough. He delivers a short one outside off, Stokes shapes up for the pull shot but it arrives late to catch the top edge. It balloons in the air towards square leg, Dowrich wears his skates and scoots towards it and then completes the catch with a full length dive. Maybe, he realized late that he has to go for it as fine leg was also there. Still does a brilliant job not only to get there but g
99.5 : 99.5: K Roach to Bairstow, OUT! TIMBERRRR! The yesteryear old 2-card trick works for Roach. After bowling a short ball previously, he cunningly slips in a full ball. Clearly, Bairstow is not expecting it as he is late on the drive. Because the ball is not pacy, at least, according to the speed gun. It reads 133 kph. But he is still late on the drive. It swings back in, takes the inside edge, hits the pads and boom. Into the stumps. So Bairstow was dropped on 2 and has been dismissed on 2. His po
100.2 : 100.2: A Joseph to M Ali, OUT! Edged and taken! Alzarri's toil fetches his rewards. Moeen is gone now. A length ball outside off, Ali cannot control his fishing earnestness and pokes at it. A thick outside edge results and Darren Bravo completes the formalities at first slip. Might have been some extra bounce on that ball which eked the edge.
101.3 : 101.3: Roach to M Wood, OUT! Spectacular running catch! Alzarri, boy, you are one gem of a kid. Bowl with heart, plenty of pace, plenty of dedication and give your 100 percent in the field. A surprise short ball from Roach, given that the ball is swinging so much. But Wood is ready for it and instinctively goes for the pull. However, he is done in by it and gets a top edge. For a second, it seems like it will clear the boundary but Joseph runs to his right from fine leg and makes a difficult cat
101.5 : 101.5: K Roach to Anderson, OUT! Bounced out! Who is this bowling? Mitchell Johnson? Dale Steyn? Pat Cummins? No. It is Kemar Roach. It is THE Kemar Roach whom we know of. Not that same pace but deadly accurate. A short ball, from around the wicket, right at the body. Anderson has nowhere to go as he simply fends at it. Gets hit on the glove and the ball just lobs to third slip where Keemo Paul does the rest. No wicket for Roach on Saturday - 4 on Sunday! ENGLAND ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 277.
4.4 : 4.4: J Anderson to Brathwaite, EDGY FOUR! Windies won't mind though. On the fuller side of things, moves away. Brathwaite pushes at it tentatively, it goes off the outer half and through backward point for a boundary. First boundary in this session.
6.1 : 6.1: J Anderson to Campbell, FOUR! Take that, says Campbell! On the fuller side, John says thank you very much, he extends his arms and lofts it over the bowler's head for a boundary. This is how he plays, he is naturally an attacking batsman.
6.3 : 6.3: J Anderson to Campbell, SIX! All the way! Stylishly shot that one! On the shorter side and on middle, Campbell lifts his front leg up and then pulls it right off the meat. It goes all the way and over the square leg fence.
10.2 : 10.2: Anderson to Campbell, FOUR! WOW! This guy has hit some very delightful boundaries. To add to that, he also holds the pose for the camera. In his zone, slightly fuller and around off, Campbell lofts it straight down the ground for a boundary.
15.4 : 15.4: J Anderson to Campbell, FOUR! Top shot! Not a bad delivery this! Length ball and around off, Campbell on the up strokes it through covers and the ball races away to the fence. 50 up for the Windies. Another excellent start by the openers.
18.3 : 18.3: M Ali to Brathwaite, OUT! Caught! A wicket out of the blue! What a wonderful field placement. Just one man out in the deep on the leg side. And Brathwaite exhibits his fielding coaching skills to perfection. Finds that man and hands him some catching practice. Only James Anderson was stationed in the deep - at widish long on, almost near mid-wicket. Brathwaite comes down the track and looks to go straight. However, with the ball drifting, the bat turns in his hand and goes towards Anderson
18.4 : 18.4: M Ali to Campbell, OUT! Two in two for England! And it is not Broad. Not Anderson. But Moeen. Out of nowhere. Both openers dismissed in quick succession. Pretty straight ball, fuller in length, Campbell comes forward and plays all around it, looking to flick. Misses and that looks plumb. Umpire Dharmasena thinks long and hard and then raises his finger! Campbell has a chat with Hope and takes the review. Well, replays suggest that it might be a bad call. Because one could see the leg stump
21.5 : 21.5: M Wood to S Hope, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Wood strikes gold straightaway! Just the start he would have wanted on his comeback. Bowls it full and around off, Hope looks to drive but ends up playing inside the line. The ball flies of the outside edge and towards gully. Burns takes it. Wood already seems to make a difference here. The X-factor England were missing seems to be visible here in Wood's first five balls. Windies now in big trouble here.
21.6 : 21.6: M Wood to Chase, OUT! Two-in-two for Wood! Why was he held back for 21 overs? His sheer pace is doing the trick for England. Roston chase bags a golden duck. Pace and bounce here gets the better of the tall batsman. It is on off and it skids through. Chase tries to defend but the ball flies off the outside edge and goes towards fourth slip. Burns takes a sharp catch. Windies are 59 for 4 from 57 for 0. They trail by 218 more.
25.1 : 25.1: M Wood to S Hetmyer, FOUR! EDGED AND OVER! Almost another one there for Wood. He goes full and outside off, Hetmyer throws his bat at it, manages to get a thick outside edge which flies over the third slip fielder and into the third man fence.
25.6 : 25.6: M Wood to Bravo, FOUR! Nicely played! On the shorter side, Bravo stays leg side of the delivery, uses the pace, times it right off the middle and gets it to the point fence. Good over this for the hosts, 12 from it.
27.1 : 27.1: M Wood to S Hetmyer, OUT! Dropped, no caught! Wood has another one and Windies have half their side back in the hut. Hetmyer falls in the last over before Tea. Once again the pace and the zip off the surface proves to be a Windies batsman's downfall. It is slightly short and outside off, Hetmyer who was beaten a couple of times before this, finally edges one as he again hangs his bat out again. The ball takes a fat outside edge and goes to Root at first slip. He takes it on the second atte
28.4 : 28.4: S Broad to Dowrich, FOUR! Classy! Holds the pose for the cameras too. Full and outside off, Dowrich leans into it and strokes it through covers. You need not run for those.
29.2 : 29.2: M Wood to D Bravo, OUT! Four-fer for Mark Wood! Darren Bravo's resistance comes to an end. Excellent bowling this, the short ball on the last delivery to push the batsman on the back foot and then the fuller one to get him out. It is on off, Bravo is neither forward nor back as he tries to keep it out with a tentative push. The ball takes the outside edge and goes to the right of Root at first slip. The England skipper, reacts late but manages to hold on, in the second attempt. Into the lo
29.3 : 29.3: M Wood to Paul, FOUR! Stand and deliver! Short and on middle, Paul moves his front leg out of the way and flat-bats it over the mid on for a boundary. Nice way to get off the mark.
33.2 : 33.2: M Wood to Dowrich, FOUR! Well played! Got on his toes and then works it through square leg. There were shouts of catch it but it passes the short leg fielder quickly and into the fence.
33.6 : 33.6: M Wood to Paul, FOUR! Timed nicely! Short and outside off, Paul used the pace and then guides it through point. No one in the deep and it races away. 100 up for the Windies but they have lost 6 wickets. They trail by another 174. Also, Wood seems to be tiring here, the zip seems to be missing in the last couple of overs or so. Probably this will be his last over for this spell.
34.3 : 34.3: M Ali to Paul, OUT! STUMPED! The bowling change works wonders. Ali gets his third and now England are into the bowlers. Tossed up outside off, Paul dances down the track but does not get to the pitch of the ball. He looks to defend but does so for the turn. There ain't any, the ball goes past the outside edge. Bairstow behind the stumps, collects it and whips the bails off in a flash.
36.6 : 36.6: M Ali to Dowrich, FOUR! Reverse sweep and nicely played! He manages to hit it through backward point. No fielder there so a boundary.
38.6: M Ali to Dowrich, FOUR! Firm drive and the desired result. A little too full on off, Dowrich strokes it through extra cover and it races away. Deficit is below 150 now.
43.5 : 43.5: S Broad to Dowrich, FOUR! Very fine and into the fence. On the pads, Dowrich walks right across and flicks it to the fine leg fence.
44.6 : 44.6: M Ali to K Roach, FOUR! Outside off, Roach slashes at it, it goes off the outer half through backward point. Stokes gives it a chase but he had no chance there. Frustrating runs these for England. Windies though would hope the two can continue.
45.1 : 45.1: S Broad to Dowrich, FOUR! That is wonderfully timed. Just a flick from Dowrich! A length ball, a bit too straight, Shane gets across his stumps and with efficient wristwork, nudges it behind square leg. Fine leg has no chance. The stand moves to 41 from 64 balls.
45.2 : 45.2: Broad to Dowrich, OUT! Superb review from Broad and England and Dowrich is adjudged LBW! First wicket for Broady. It is landed on a good length around off and Dowrich gets across to defend. But this does not come in with the angle. Instead it straightens slightly after pitching and squares Shane up as he looks to defend. Is hit on the pads and Broad appeals but the umpire is unmoved. Broad feels this is out and convinces Root to go upstairs. Root does so and lo! Hawk Eye shows it to be dea
46.3 : 46.3: M Ali to Joseph, OUT! In the air... what a catch. Ho ho ho, that is a screamer there. Ali tosses this up around off, Joseph goes for the slog but ends up playing it against the angle. He ends up getting it off the outer half. It goes high in the air towards mid off. The batter though would feel, he might just get away with this one. Broad however, runs backwards and then sticks his right hand out and the ball sticks. He then tumbles over and gets up with a big smile. He is now mobbed by hi
47.1 : 47.1: M Wood to Gabriel, FOUR! Gabriel is not going to die wondering. Short and wide outside off, slapped through point for a boundary.
47.2 : 47.2: Wood to S Gabriel, OUT! BOWLED! Wood wins the race of the fifers! Full and straight, perfect delivery to a tail-ender, Gabriel swings and misses. The ball hits the stumps and ENGLAND HAVE A LEAD OF 123.
3.5 : 3.5: S Gabriel to Jennings, FOUR! Through the gap and a boundary! Deliberately played this. Short and outside off, Jennings waits for it and then guides it down to the third man fence.
10.1 : 10.1: K Paul to Burns, OUT! Wicket first ball! What a start for Windies! Paul runs in from 'round the wicket and angles in a length ball on middle, Rory leans forward and across to play the flick shot but fails to keep it down. Alzarri Joseph is strategically placed there at square leg and he takes a fine low catch. Keemo is smiling and a dejected Burns is on his way back. A soft dismissal really.
10.2 : 10.2: K Paul to Denly, FOUR! Off the mark straightaway! A back of a lenngth delivery around off, Denly stays back and at the last moment runs it wide of the slip cordon for a boundary.
13.2: S Gabriel to Denly, FOUR! Confident shot! Denly leans forward to a full ball and drives it through cover-point. But what happened there to the fielder? Keemo Paul scoots behind the ball from point, it starts to slow down before the rope but then Paul also slows down. He seems to have pulled his hamstring.
15.5 : 15.5: S Gabriel to Joe Denly, FOUR! Up and over gully! Width on offer outside off, short in length, Denly flashes and flashes hard at it. It flies off the outside half over the jumping gully fielder for a boundary. Gabriel has his hand on his head in disappointment.
15.6 : 15.6: S Gabriel to Denly, FOUR! Shot of the morning but it had a hint of risk in it as well. Fuller length ball around off, Denly brings down a straight bat and drives it back. It's uppish but before Gabriel reacts to his right the ball has screamed past him to the fence down the ground.
17.2 : 17.2: S Gabriel to Jennings, FOUR! Streaky runs for Keaton Jennings. He's got the runs, but he'll feel lucky to have not gotten out. Gabriel fires it full and wide outside off, Jennings goes after it and it goes off the thick edge between gully and backward point. A boundary results.
20.1 : 20.1: A Joseph to Joe Denly, FOUR! Shot. Right in the gap. Joe Denly leans into the drive and pumps it through the gap in the covers on the up. Chase chases from the deep, runs to his right and puts in the dive, only to come second best.
27.1: A Joseph to K Jennings, OUT! BOWLED AROUND HIS LEGS! That is some way to lose a wicket. Pitched outside leg and Jennings gets a good stride forward to flick. But he is not at all to the pitch of the ball. Perhaps he expects the ball to come around middle. However, it is not coming in that much. He misses his flick and the ball hits his back thigh, which barely moves. Now comes the misfortune. The ball then deflects onto the stumps. That is sheer bad luck. He was dismissed in a similar fash
29.1: A Joseph to Denly, FOUR! Shot! Joseph bowls it short and outside off, Denly camps back and punches it in front of square on the off side. Finds the gap at cover-point and it races away to the fence.
31.4 : 31.4: A Joseph to Root, FOUR! PUMMELED! Hit with authority. A short ball, around middle, Root pulls it over mid-wicket and the ball races away to the fence. The stand now moves to 20 from 27 balls.
35.2 : 35.2: S Gabriel to Root, FOUR! Cracking shot. Fractionally short in length, punched through point for a boundary!
37.6 : 37.6: S Gabriel to Joe Denly, FOUR! That's uppish but wide of the mid-wicket fielder. Fuller length ball on middle, Denly flicks across the line but is a bit early into his shot. It loops in the air but goes wide of Chase. He runs behind it but the ball teasingly rolls past the rope.
38.5 : 38.5: K Roach to Denly, FOUR! Maiden Test fifty for Joe Denly! Has worked hard in this knock and richly deserves this applause from the crowd. Slightly overpitched, around off, Denly strides forward and plays a cracking straight drive for a boundary. Well played, can he convert it into a century now? Lead is 241.
39.4 : 39.4: S Gabriel to Joe Denly, FOUR! This is called educated edge. Why? Not sure. Maybe because you have the knowledge of what you are doing... Fullish and on off, at 150 kph, Denly tries driving it through the line but it takes the outer half of his bat and speeds through the gap between gully and slips for a boundary.
43.1 : 43.1: S Gabriel to Joe Denly, EDGED, FOUR! When you flash, flash hard. Short and wide outside off, Denly throws his bat at it but the pace does him in. Gets an outside edge which flies over the leaping Roston Chase at first slip to the third man fence. The lead now moves to 260.
45.2 : 45.2: S Gabriel to Denly, FOUR! Good shot. Short outside off, Root cuts and cuts it hard over third man for a boundary.
45.5 : 45.5: S Gabriel to Denly, OUT! Big wicket for the Windies. It was a much-needed one for them. It was bowled short and wide outside off, Denly looks to cut it but gets beaten due to lack of footwork. He gets a bottom edge and Shane Dowrich takes a comfortable catch. England lose their third wicket. The partnership is broken. It was a 74-run stand. End of a good knock from Joe Denly. England lead by 270 runs.
47.5: S Gabriel to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Poor delivery from Gabriel. Full toss outside off, Buttler looks to drive but gets an outside edge. It goes towards backward point for a boundary.
48.5: R Chase to Buttler, EDGED, FOUR! Lucky escape for Buttler. Outside off, Jos looked to push it through the off side but there was some extra bounce on it, which induced an outside edge. The man at first slip reacts late and the ball goes past him to the third man fence.
49.6 : 49.6: A Joseph to Root, FOUR! Edged away! Outside off, on a length, Root pushes at it but the ball moves away slightly, takes the outside edge, albeit to an unmanned third slip. Races away to the third man fence.
53.1 : 53.1: A Joseph to Buttler, FOUR! Nice shot. A short ball, around off, Buttler swivels quickly on his back foot and pulls it through mid-wicket for a boundary.
54.3 : 54.3: R Chase to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Nice shot. Short outside off, Buttler makes room and cuts it through point for a boundary. The fielder had no chance there. Jos is looking in good touch here.
68.4 : 68.4: R Chase to Root, FOUR! 42nd Test fifty for Joe Root, his first after 7 innings... Coincidentally, his two last scores were also 7 and 7. A real gift to reach the milestone. Spinning down the leg side, Joe quietly but neatly deflects it off his pads to the fine leg fence. The English skipper needed this knock under his belt.
71.6 : 71.6: K Brathwaite to Root, FOUR! Shot! The fielder in the deep seems to have not picked it. Full and on off, Root goes down and across to sweep it behind square leg. The long leg fielder is very late to react, in fact doesn't react at all.
80.2 : 80.2: K Roach to Buttler, Just eluding the flying keeper! FOUR! Back of a length ball on middle and leg, Buttler tries to glance it on the leg side but it comes off the inner half of his willow and flies behind. Dowrich puts in a diving effort to his left but all in vain. A boundary results.
80.5 : 80.5: Roach to Jos Buttler, OUT! Sound of timber! Roach has done it with the second new ball. Lands it on a length around off and gets it to straighten from there off the seam. Buttler tries flicking but misses as he plays down the wrong line and it goes on to tickle the off stump. The 107-run alliance is broken. England's lead is 23 short of 400!
84.1 : 84.1: K Roach to Stokes, FOUR! Fine start to the over. Short and wide outside off, Stokes camps back and slaps it through point for a boundary.
87.1: S Gabriel to Root, Funny! Good length delivery on middle and leg, Root tickles it off his pads and it races through mid-wicket. Warrican (sub) chases it and then puts in a dive near the rope. However, he himself goes beyond the rope while the ball is still to roll towards the boundary line. Warrican then recovers and jumps out to stop the ball. Then he gets up, slips a bit before picking it up and releasing the ball to the keeper. The batsmen have run all four. Quite comical. The substitut
88.5 : 88.5: A Joseph to Root, FOUR! Badly lined, down the leg side, fuller in length, Root just tickles it to the fine leg fence.
89.2 : 89.2: S Gabriel to Stokes, FOUR! No stopping this one! An overpitched delivery on off, Stokes brings down a straight bat and strokes firmly down the ground for a boundary. There was a mid off fielder seen giving the chase but he was never going to stop it.
90.4 : 90.4: A Joseph to Root, FOUR! MAGNIFICENT! Root at his best. Full and outside off, Root comes forward and drives this on the up, comfortably beating mid off. Pleasing to the eye, Joe moves to 95.
93.1 : 93.1: A Joseph to Root, FOUR! Roooootttttttt goes the Barmy Army and the English skipper runs in joy with his arms afloat. Joseph serves a friendly full toss outside off, Joe has no issues in driving it through mid off for a glorious boundary. He punches his fist in delight. This knock means a lot to him. Has been off colour of late, losing his run-scoring hunger. For the record - 16TH TEST TON FOR ROOT! His third consecutive century after going past 50. Also, a hat-trick of tons in a dead rubbe
100.3 : 100.3: K Roach to Stokes, FOUR! Statement very early from Stokes. Fuller ball on middle and leg, Stokes steps out and smacks this over the bowler's head for a boundary.
102.6 : 102.6: K Roach to Stokes, SIX! Stokes is preparing for the coming ODI series. Sees this ball short and nonchalantly pulls it over mid-wicket for a maximum. 11 runs from the over.
103.6: S Gabriel to Root, FOUR! 350 comes up for England! It was on off and fullish, Joe drives it past covers and gets a boundary. Magnificent shot from the skipper.
