We are all set to begin. The umpires walk out to the middle. Bangalore are in a hurdle before the players take their fielding position. Martin Guptill and Wriddhiman Saha are the openers for Hyderabad. Umesh Yadav to start off proceedings. Saha to face. Here we go...
0.1 : U Yadav to W Saha, Umesh starts with a good length delivery on middle. It swings slightly away from Saha. He though does well to tuck it towards mid-wicket and get the Hyderabad scoreboard underway straightaway with a single.
0.2 : U Yadav to M Guptill, Length ball on off, Guptill taps it to covers and shouts a loud no to his partner.
0.3 : U Yadav to M Guptill, Just outside off, Guptill defends it with soft hands towards backward point and looks for a quick single but is sent back by Saha. The fielder has a shy at the keeper's end but misses.
0.4 : U Yadav to M Guptill, Length ball on the pads, Guptill looks to flick but gets hit high on the thigh pad.
0.5 : U Yadav to M Guptill, Full on middle and leg, Guptill strokes it to mid on and looks for a single but once again Saha sends him back.
0.6 : U Yadav to M Guptill, End of a tight over. Back of a length ball around off, Guptill taps it to third man and gets off the mark.
Navdeep Saini to bowl from the other end.
1.1 : N Saini to M Guptill, He starts with a full length delivery just outside off, the ball comes in after hitting the deck. Guptill looks to hit it straight but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
1.2 : N Saini to M Guptill, FOUR! First boundary of the game and it comes off the bat of Guptill. Poor ball from Saini. Good length ball on the pads, Guptill easily flicks it through fine leg for a boundary.
1.3 : N Saini to M Guptill, SIX! Follows the first boundary with a first six of the innings. Good length ball on off, Guptill gets on his front foot and smokes it over the long off fence for a maximum.
STAT ALERT - This is the 21st consecutive Indian T20 League match that the team winning the toss has chosen to bowl first at the Chinnaswamy, a run that goes back to Bangalore's first match there in the 2017 tournament.
1.4 : N Saini to M Guptill, FOUR OVERTHROWS! Free runs for Hyderabad. Good length ball on the body, Guptill runs it down towards short third man and takes a quick single. Kohli gets to the ball and has an unnecessary shy at the bowler's end. The throw is wide of Khejroliya who is behind the stumps and his dive cannot stop it. Khejroliya is also at fault there though as he was going with the bowler and he was not right behind the stumps.
1.5 : N Saini to W Saha, Full and outside off, swinging in, Saha looks to swing but gets a thick inside edge onto his pads. The ball rolls behind towards first slip.
1.6 : N Saini to W Saha, FOUR! What a shot that is from Saha. Good length ball on off, Saha gets on top of the ball and punches it delightfully through covers for a boundary. 19 off Saini's first. Very expensive start for him.
2.1 : U Yadav to M Guptill, SIX! Inside out! A length ball outside off, Guptill comes down the track and sends this sailing over extra cover!
2.2 : U Yadav to M Guptill, A bouncer to check Guppy's footwork now, bowls a bouncer and the Kiwi ducks.
2.3 : U Yadav to M Guptill, Outside off, Guppy taps it towards the slip cordon and by the time Parthiv gets to the ball, a single is stolen.
2.4 : U Yadav to W Saha, DROPPED! Chahal is the culprit. A short ball, around middle, Saha swivels and pulls it nicely but it goes straight to Yuzvendra Chahal at deep square leg. He comes in, goes for the catch but cannot quite hang on. A single taken.
2.5 : U Yadav to M Guptill, HUGE SHOUT FOR A CATCH! Turned down by the umpire. Nothing from anyone else. No review taken. A short ball, around middle, Martin goes for the pull but misses. Parthiv collects and appeals but the umpire is unmoved. Did not look like there was a nick.
2.6 : U Yadav to M Guptill, Full and around off, swinging in, MG swings it towards mid on.
Yuzvendra Chahal is into the attack now.
3.1 : Y Chahal to W Saha,FOUR! Smart batting this. There is no fielder at deep square leg. Tossed up delivery on middle and leg, Saha makes the most of it and gets down on one knee and sweeps it over square leg for a boundary.
3.2 : Y Chahal to W Saha, FOUR! This is even better. Short on middle from Chahal, Saha picks the length early and whips it through mid-wicket for a boundary
3.3 : Y Chahal to W Saha, FOUR! Just over! Tossed up delivery around off, Saha lofts it over the mid off fielder. The fielder there jumps and stretches his arms up in the air but it is over him.

3.5 : Y Chahal to M Guptill, Floated on middle, Guptill looks to defend but gets an inside edge which goes towards square leg for a single.

4.2 : N Saini to M Guptill, Good length ball on off, Guptill defends it towards point and gets a single.
4.3 : N Saini to W Saha, OUT! Saha departs. Saini gets his man. Full length delivery on middle, Saha looks to go over mid on. He cannot time it though and the ball goes to the left of the fielder there. Umesh Yadav moves to his left and takes a good catch. The idea was not wrong to go at it in the Powerplay but the execution was not right from Saha.
Manish Pandey is the next batsman in.
4.4 : N Saini to M Pandey, Full and outside off, Pandey pushes it towards mid off and takes a quick single. He had to run around the bowler and it would have been tight had the fielder thrown it at the stumps but he did not collect it at all.
4.5 : N Saini to M Guptill, Outside off, played straight to point.
4.6 : N Saini to M Guptill, FOUR! Slapped and slapped hard. Good length ball outside off, Guptill frees his arms and slaps it through covers for a boundary.
5.1 : Y Chahal to M Pandey, Shorter on middle and leg, Pandey gets on the back foot and hits it to cover.
5.2 : Y Chahal to M Pandey, That was close! Floated delivery on leg, Pandey looks to play it straight but gets an inside edge onto the pads. The ball then rolls just away from the off stump. Parthiv Patel who was moving to his left behind the stumps, dives to his right and looks to guide the ball to the stumps but the ball misses the stumps there as well. Replays later on shows that had Parthiv hit it, Manish would still be in.
5.3 : Y Chahal to M Pandey, Shorter on middle and leg, Pandey looks to hit it off his back foot but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
STAT ALERT - The critical number for Hyderabad during the Powerplay is 55. Whenever they have scored above 55, they have won 86 percent of their matches (6/7). Whenever it's under that, they HAVE NOT WON A SINGLE MATCH.
5.4 : Y Chahal to M Pandey, Edge but safe. Tossed up outside off, Pandey looks to drive it but gets an outside edge which flies over the vacant slip region and they get a single.
5.5 : Y Chahal to M Guptill, On the pads, Guptill flicks it to the man at mid-wicket.
5.6 : Y Chahal to M Guptill, Tossed up on off, Guptill looks to play it across the line but gets a leading edge which falls in no man's land at point.
STRATEGIC BREAK. It was a late call but Bangalore have decided to go for the break. Probably the right call, with Guptill going big guns. It has been an okay start for the visitors but they will need to keep on scoring.
Kulwant Khejroliya to bowl.

7.2 : W Sundar to M Guptill, OUT! Soft dismissal! Martin Guptill will be absolutely kicking himself. Had faced 22 balls, got to 30, had his eye in and got set. But then, thrown it away. A nothing ball, a nothing shot. Fractionally short, outside off, Guptill gets across and just punches it towards long on. It should have been a casual single but Virat Kohli quickly gets across from short mid-wicket and takes it easily.
Skipper Kane Williamson walks in at number 4, replacing Guptill.
7.3 : W Sundar to K Williamson, Full and outside off, pushed down to long on for a run.
7.4 : W Sundar to M Pandey, Full and outside off, flicked towards short mid-wicket.
Is that a catch? Shimron Hetmyer has taken a blinder. Or he claims to have taken one. It was a pull shot towards deep mid-wicket and Hetmyer seems to have taken it nicely underneath his fingers. The soft signal is out. More replays are being seen and it seems like Shimron Hetmyer has the ball between the fingers and the ground. Does that mean he has grassed it?
7.5 : W Sundar to M Pandey, OUT! Pandey has been given his marching orders! Tough call for the third umpire. Numerous replays were seen for this. A short ball, outside off, Pandey dragged the pull towards deep mid-wicket. Hetmyer ran to his right, covering good ground and dived, claiming to have taken the catch. But Pandey was going nowhere and the umpires got together for a chat. They referred it upstairs with the soft signal being out. Now, according to a few replays, the ball seemed to have to

13.5 : W Sundar to V Shankar, OUT! Caught! One too many by Vijay Shankar. Sundar has the last laugh. He tosses this one too but there is less pace on it. Shankar lines up for the sweep again but this time, he is early. Gets a top edge which goes straight up in the air. The keeper starts to go for it but Colin de Grandhomme from short fine leg makes a clear, loud call and takes it after coming a few steps forward. End of a 45-run stand.
Yusuf Pathan walks in at number 6, replacing Shankar.
13.6 : W Sundar to K Williamson, Short and outside off, punched through cover-point for a run. 14 from the over but the wicket of Shankar as well.

STRATEGIC BREAK. To be honest, Pathan's wicket will not hurt Hyderabad much. Because that brings in Mohammad Nabi. But the visitors are losing their way. 19.6 : U Yadav to B Kumar, TOP EDGE, FOUR! 28 runs from the final over. Hyderabad have got something to defend. A short ball, around middle, Kumar swings hard but gets a top edge. However, it sails over short fine leg and lands just inside the boundary! BANGALORE NEED 176 TO WIN.
Wow. 6, 4, 6, 4, (no ball+2), 1 and 4. Has that last over taken the game away from Bangalore? They had the match in control till the 19th over but then Umesh trotted along...
The innings has been more or less about Kane Williamson, with the captain playing like MS Dhoni. Bid his time till the 19th over and then took on Umesh Yadav in the 20th. He finished on an unbeaten 70 from 43 balls, while Guptill, Saha and Shankar wasted their starts. The visiting side struggled on a sluggish surface but it seems like the track has got better for batting.
More or less a decent bowling performance from Bangalore. Till the last few overs. Chahal, Khejroliya and Sundar had the game under control but Saini had a rough evening while Umesh Yadav had a forgetful last over. Sundar was the pick of the bowlers with 3 scalps and here he is, talking to Kevin Pietersen...
Washington Sundar says he just wanted to bowl to his strength and did not want to do anything new. He tells us that the wicket was also on the slower side. On being asked if Chahal is the wicket-taker, Sundar says Chahal bowls in the Powerplay and it is good if he takes wickets as well. On being asked which one was his favorite wicket of the evening, Sundar answers Guptill and goes on to explain because he is a good batsman and he is a fan of his batting. On being asked about the fans, Sundar sa
176 to win then. Dew on offer. Can Bangalore chase this down? Will Hyderabad's bowling step up tonight? Let us hope for a good chase...

STRATEGIC BREAK. Bangalore are going okay, one would say. The run-rate is not that high but the required run rate is not that high either. And at the Chinnaswamy, you can make it up towards the end. OUT? NOT OUT? Thampi has got one to snake back in to beat Gurkeerat. Nothing from Saha after collecting it but the bowler feels there is a nick. Review taken.
14.5 : B Thampi to Singh Mann, NOT OUT. Waste of a review? Or a tactical delay? Just to break Gurkeerat's momentum? Outside off, Singh Mann looks to punch it through the off side but the ball comes back in a long way and beats the inside edge. It does not look out to the naked eye and the umpire does not give it either. But Thampi is confident that there is a noise and Williamson goes upstairs. There is nothing on Ultra Edge. Massive gap between bat and pad.
14.6 : B Thampi to Singh Mann, Flicks this away for a single towards square leg.

15.6 : V Shankar to Singh Mann, Good length ball outside off. GSM plays to point. The fielder there misfields allowing them to get another single. Hyderabad have to improve the fielding here. They have been sloppy to say the least.
STRATEGIC BREAK. How many would have imagined that Bangalore would be cruising to victory at 20/3? Certainly not me. But this unbeaten 4th wicket 126-run stand has taken Hyderabad to the cleaners. This is the highest stand for Bangalore this season but sadly, it has come at the very end. The dew is making life difficult for the visitors and with just 30 needed from 24 balls, it is highly likely that the hosts will romp home in the 19th over...

17.2 : R Khan to Singh Mann, Short again on middle, GSM plays it to long on and gets a single.

17.4 : R Khan to S Hetmyer, OUT! Caught! Hetmyer cannot quite finish it off. Outside off, short and turning away, it is the googly which spins away. The West Indian backs away and punches this powerfully over extra cover. But Vijay Shankar is stationed perfectly at the ropes and he takes it easily, but just inside the ropes. The Chinnaswamy gives a standing ovation to Hetmyer. What a knock. 75 from 47 balls. Took the wind out of Hyderabad's sails. Just 12 needed now, from 14 balls.

The ball goes straight to Yusuf Pathan who takes an easy catch. End of an excellent innings from Gurkeerat Singh Mann. But unfortunately he too cannot see his side home.
Washington Sundar walks in at number 7, replacing Gurkeerat.
18.3 : K Ahmed to W Sundar, WIDE! Full and wide outside off, Sundar looks to play it but misses. It is outside the tramline. Wide signalled.
K Ahmed to W Sundar, OUT! Slower delivery does the trick. Khaleel gets his second of the over. It is full on off, Sundar looks to go over mid on but does not time it. The ball goes high in the air and Manish Pandey moves backward from mid off and takes a good catch. 8 needed off 9. Surely Bangalore cannot lose it from here. Right?
Umesh Yadav comes in at number 8, replacing Sundar.
18.4 : K Ahmed to de Grandhomme, Excellent stop from Bhuvi. Outside off, de Grandhomme guides it towards short third man and it almost sneaks through but Kumar dives full length to his right and makes a half-stop. Just a single.

18.6 : K Ahmed to U Yadav, A single taken on the last ball. Hmmm... Full on middle, Yadav punches this down to long on for a run to get off the mark.
6 needed off 6. Who will bowl the last over? Mohammad Nabi it is.
19.1 : M Nabi to U Yadav, FOUR! That should be it. Flighted outside off Umesh smacks it through point for a boundary. Only 2 needed now.
19.2 : M Nabi to U Yadav, FOUR! That is it. He might have been villian in the eyes of many for the last over but he has taken his side home with the bat. Again full and flighted outside off, Umesh slashes it through cover and finishes the game. BANGALORE WIN BY 4 WICKETS.
Virat Kohli is pumped up. For the time being, Bangalore avoid the wooden spoon. If Punjab lose to Chennai on Sunday, then Ashwin's men will take that. It might be seen as Bangalore made heavy weather of the chase from a comfortable position but as far as the situation is concerned, it is fine. They are already knocked out and a win is a win. But for Hyderabad, they are now in troubled waters and will have to depend on other teams to take them through.
The run chase was structured just around 2 people - Shimron Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Neither had anything to lose and with the score reading 20/3, Hetmyer played the way most West Indians play - bash the ball. His counter-attack took Hyderabad by surprise and the dew did not help them either. The 144-run partnership for the fourth wicket pretty much sealed the deal though wickets at the end almost got a twist in the tale.
If Hyderabad lose out on the playoffs, they have only themselves to blame. They were in a position to win here but probably took the foot off the pedal after de Villiers fell. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Basil Thampi were excellent but the others sprayed the ball around the park, including the reliable Rashid and got tonked.
Here is the scenario for Hyderabad then. Hope Chennai beat Punjab and Mumbai defeat Kolkata on Sunday. Or, if Punjab do win, then win with a smaller margin so that Hyderabad's net run rate is unaffected. By this Bangalore victory, Ashwin will be heaving a sigh of relief.
Hyderabad skipper, Kane Williamson, says that they had an element of control and at the halfway mark, he thought they had set the platform. Tells they started off well with the ball picking up three wickets but credits the way Bangalore played. On the dropped chances, Kane says it is a game of cricket and such things happen. Admits that they should have got 10-15 runs more but lost way in the middle but got to a reasonable total in the end. On the season, he says there are number of fine lines a
Gurkeerat Singh Mann is up for a chat with Murali Kartik. Says that he just went into bat at good position and he was just taking singles and trying to build a partnership. He tells that when there is a player like Hetmyer you don't have to do anything silly. He says he is happy and thanks the crowd for the support they have given them and he hopes to give them memories to cherish. On how he is feeling after tonight's performance, he says he has not been on the field for the past 2 years and jus
SHIMRON HETMYER HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Sums up this Indian T20 League experience as getting used to the environment and having fun while playing. Says that it always helped to play with a clear mind. Credits Bangalore and calls it a fantastic franchise and wants to take whatever he has learnt from this tournament into the future.
Victorious Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli, says that the last 6 games which they played was exactly what they aimed for in the initial phase. But admits that this is the way things go and praises his team for turning things around in the next half and showing their skills. Adds that given the way the second half of the season panned out, it does not feel like a bad season, with 5 wins and a washout in the last 6 games. On this particular match, Kohli says that perhaps Hyderabad also thought with
