0.0 : Hello all! Super Sunday is here and we have two exciting games in store. First up is Chennai going up against Bangalore. Kohli's men have been on a roll this season and are closing in on a berth for the playoffs. Their bowling has worked this season while the batting has also come up good. Their form makes them the favourites going into this game.
Chennai, on the other hand, have had a terrible season. They have a very minute chance of qualifying and that is a big task as they need to win all their remaining games and expect other results to go their way. Considering their performance, the chances of them qualifying looks highly improbable. But they would look to play for pride and spoil the party for the other teams. They have a good chance of trying out their bench strength and they will hope that they put on a better show.
Pitch report - Pommie Mbangwa and Kumar Sangakkara are there for the pitch report. Sangakkara says that the batsmen will look to target the shorter side and it will be interesting to see how the bowlers execute their plans. Sangakkara states that it is a good wicket and it is quickening up a little. Adds that the team winning the toss will look to bat first.
Toss - Bangalore have won the toss and they have elected to bat first.
Bangalore (Playing XI) - Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers (WK), Moeen Ali (IN PLACE OF ISURU UDANA), Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Chris Morris, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal.
Virat Kohli, the Bangalore skipper, says that they will bat first as the pitch might get slower and slower as the game progresses. Adds that they expected the pitch to slow down as the tournament progressed. Goes onto say that even if there is dew, they need to allow the ball to come onto the bat. Informs that Moeen Ali replaces Isuru Udana. Adds that things can go south quickly and they want to be in a good space. Says that the go green initiative is very important for them.
MS Dhoni, the Chennai skipper, says that toss is out of their control and they would have batted first. Adds that they are in with a chance mathematically but they will take one game at a time and they need to execute their plans and they are looking to try out players who have not played many games. States that Mitchell Santner and Monu Kumar come in.
Chennai (Playing XI) - Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Narayan Jagadeesan, MS Dhoni (WK/C), Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner (IN PLACE OF JOSH HAZLEWOOD), Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, Monu Kumar (IN PLACE OF SHARDUL THAKUR).

Earlier in the game, after winning the toss, Kohli opted to set a target for the opposition. Finch and Padikkal, the openers for Bangalore, started well as they added 31 between them but both fell quickly. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers got together and then calmly took singles and doubles and managed to find the occasional boundaries. However, in search of quick runs, de Villiers holed out, ending the 82-run stand. And towards the end, some good bowling from Chennai meant that even Kohli who go
Chennai bowlers were tidy from the start. They didn't offer a lot of freebies and kept the run rate under check throughout the innings. Sam Curran was their pick of the bowlers as the Englishman took a 3-fer in his 3-over spell, giving away just 19 runs. The spinners too did their job for them. Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner too managed to scalp three wickets between them.
Mitchell Santner is caught for a chat. He says that it is nice to play. Adds that the guys did well to restrict Bangalore. Goes onto say they will try to win the last three games. Says that the pitch is a little slow and if they bat well, they can chase this down. Tells that he tried to vary his pace and tried to pitch it fuller. Says that they need to have a good start with the bat and play like how Kohli and AB de Villiers batted.
Fine bowling performance from Chennai! They have done really well to keep the star-studded Bangalore batting line-up to below 150. When Kohli and de Villiers were batting together, one would've felt that they might explode towards the end and take the bowlers apart but that never happened.
Right! Not a massive score on the board! However, the surface is a bit on the slower side and Chennai will have to bat really well to chase it down. Bangalore bowlers are performing as a unit and they will be eager to repeat their performance from the last game. Join us for the chase in a short while.

Chasing the target, Chennai were off to a flying start with du Plessis and Gaikwad adding 46 in just 5.1 overs. Faf fell against the run of play but Rayudu arrived and along with Gaikwad kept taking the game away. The duo added 67 runs between them in a quick time and never allowed the Bangalore bowlers to settle. Rayudu too fell but before he went, the asking rate was well under control and eventually Dhoni with his calmness along with Gaikwad, took the team over the line easily.
Bangalore needed early wickets. It did come in the 5th over as Morris got better of his countryman du Plessis but the Protea had given a fine start by that time. And after that wicket, the Bangalore bowlers failed to strike for a long time as Gaikwad and Rayudu's fine batting kept them at bay. With hardly any pressure of the asking rate, Chennai batters kept things nice and under control and didn't give chances to the bowlers. Chahal was once again good with the ball but he just got one wicket a
Earlier in the game, their bowlers did a fine job to restrict Bangalore to under 150. However, they were tidy from the start but with set Kohli and de Villiers batting, it might have been mayhem had they got going but the Chennai bowlers didn't let them do that. Kohli did get to a half ton while de Villiers too played a fine knock but they just couldn't break free. Sam Curran once again starred with the ball for Chennai while he got good support from Chahar. And eventually, the score that they r
