Shafiq then followed as he looked to up the scoring rate and threw his wicket away in the process. Babar Azam and Haris Sohail, who is nearing a ton, ensured there are no more hiccups and saw off the day's play safely. The two are amidst a 33-run stand. |

| PAKISTAN HAVE DECLARED! They have posted a massive first innings total after batting for almost two days. After electing to bat, they lost their openers quickly, however Ali and Azam then steadied the ship with a 100-plus stand. The highlight of the innings though was the 186-run stand between Haris Sohail and Babar Azam. Both of them scoring a ton with the former missing out on his 150 by just three runs. |
| Azam though continued with his skipper after the Tea break. The two tried to add some quick runs, however at once it seemed like they were determined to bat out today's day also but it wasn't to be. Ahmed feels he has enough runs on the board and has declared with 11 overs to go. |
| New Zealand's first task will be to battle through this nervy period. It won't be easy but they would love to end the day unscathed. Pakistan on the other hand, will look to pick a few wickets and head into Day 3 in the driver's seat. |
