0.0 : Hello and welcome to the 3rd and last T20I of the series between New Zealand and West Indies. The Kiwis have pocketed the series already and are ready to give chances to a few other prospects who they think might be important for them ahead of the T20 World Cup in 2021. West Indies, on the other hand, would be eager to turn things around and win the last game of the series. They fought hard in the first game but suffered a heavy loss in the second. TOSS - Time for the toss! Mitchell Santner is leading New Zealand in this game with regular skipper Tim Southee given a rest. Kieron Pollard is the West Indies skipper. Up goes the coin and it lands in Santner's favor. New Zealand will bowl first.
New Zealand skipper, Mitchell Santner, says that with rain around, DLS might come into play in this game. Tells that he is proud to lead the Kiwi team. Adds that they have got three changes with Southee, Taylor and Jamieson going out and they are replaced by Kuggeleijn, Daryl and Bennett replacing them.
West Indies skipper, Kieron Pollard, tells that they need to put on a big score. Adds that they just want to play smart, analyze the game and put on a big total. Informs that there is two change in the team as Hetmyer and Paul miss out and Hayden Walsh and Romario Shepherd replace them. Ends that he wants the team to execute the plans better and get a win.

Right! It indeed is time for the action! The two umpires stride out to the middle and they are followed by the Kiwi players. Andre Fletcher and Brandon King are the Windies openers. Mitchell Santner, the man who is leading the Kiwi team for the first time, says I will take the ball first up. Here we go...
0.1 : Mitchell Santner to Andre Fletcher, WIDE! West Indies are underway with extras! Santner slips the first ball down the leg side. King looks to tuck it on the leg side but misses. The keeper fails to collect and it races towards the fine leg fence. The short fine leg fielder gives it a chase and and slides to pull the ball back in.

0.2 : Mitchell Santner to Brandon King, WIDE! Another extra! This one short and down the leg side, King looks to pull but misses. The keeper does well to collect the ball this time. Wided.

0.6 : Mitchell Santner to Andre Fletcher, Dot to end the first over. Tossed up and outside off, pushed towards the cover fielder. 12 from the first over.
1.1 : Lockie Ferguson to Brandon King, EDGY FOUR! Lucky runs for King. A length ball just outside off, King looks to drive but gets a thcik outside edge. The ball goes to the left of the diving slip fielder and it goes into the third man fence.
1.2 : Lockie Ferguson to Brandon King, OUT! TAKEN! Ferguson strikes with the new ball. He is effective with the old ball and proves his worth with the new one as well. King picks out the thrid man. Full and outside off, King goes after it but ends up getting a thickish outside edge. The ball flies uppishly and goes straight to Neesham at third man. An easy chance for James.
1.3 : Lockie Ferguson to Kyle Mayers, FOUR! Clipped nicely! Mayers is up and running with a boundary. Shortish and on middle and leg, Mayers moves inside the crease and pulls it hard. It goes wide of the short fine leg and into the fence.
1.2 : Early blow for West Indies, who will walk out at number 3? It is Kyle Mayers who walks out at first drop. 
1.4 : Lockie Ferguson to Kyle Mayers, On the pads, flicked towards mid-wicket for one.
1.5 : Lockie Ferguson to Andre Fletcher, EDGY FOUR! Ferguson is unlucky here but he is not too far away from another wicket here. A length ball outside off, Fletcher looks to defend but the ball comes back in and takes the inside edge. It goes to the left of the keeper who dives to that side but still fails to get there. Fletcher is off the mark with a streaky fashion.
1.6 : Lockie Ferguson to Andre Fletcher, In the channel outside of, Andre lets it be. End of a successful first over for Ferguson. 13 runs and a wicket off it.
 It has started to drizzle again but for the moment, play continues. Hamish Bennett is into the attack for the first time this evening. 
2.1 : Hamish Bennett to Kyle Mayers, Sharp bouncer to begin! Mayers looks to pull but misses.
2.2 : Hamish Bennett to Kyle Mayers, Play and a miss! Short and wide outside off, Mayers throws the kitchen sink at it but connects with only thin air.
0.0 : UPDATE 1900 local (0600 GMT) - Well, well! The players were ready to stride out to the middle but the heavens opened up. The pitch is getting covered. Just a slight drizzle and nothing more but it is good enough to keep the players out.
UPDATE 1903 local (060 GMT) - Good news! It's gone now! The covers have been removed. Let's hope we get underway quickly.
2.2 : UPDATE 1918 local (0618 GMT) - Not the sight we like to see. The rain has started to gather pace and the players are walking off the field. It looks pretty heavy but let's hope it stops as soon as possible and we have action back again sooner rather than later. It looks like it will be a stop-start evening. 
UPDATE 1947 local (0647 GMT) - Nothing much to update as it continues to drizzle! The covers are on. Stay tight and wait for the next update. 
Update 2015 local (0715 GMT) - We have some very good news! The rain has stopped and knowing the drainage facility here, we should get started sooner. Hopefully we won't have any other interupptions and the rain gods will stay away from this exciting clash. 
Update 2035 local (0735 GMT) - Well, the drizzle has returned and our waiiting game is extended a bit for sure. Also, we have started to lose overs as well.
Update 2045 local (0745 GMT) - The umpires are out in the middle but their umbrellas which means it continues to drizzle. Not good signs right now. The wait continues.
Update 2100 local (0800 GMT) - We wish we could bring you some good news but unfortuantely that is not the case as it continues to rain. The cut-off time is 2148 local so we have another 48 minutes to get at least a 5-over game. Let's pray we get some action in this one.
James Neesham is caught for a quick chat! Tells that it is a bit frustrating but adds it is the case of staying switched on. Adds that he is happy to be 2-0 up. Tells that the batters have done really well but there areas to work for the bowlers. Mentions that he is pleased to play in front of the crowd. Ends by saying that he is looking for he Australia series.
UPDATE 2120 local (0820 GMT) - The umpires are having a word with the groundsmen. Once again the umbrellas are out which means it is still RAINING! Things look really bleak for even a 5-over shooter now.
Yes! The final word has arrived! After just 2.2 overs of play, the game has been ABANDONED!
You got to feel for Santner! Captaining the team for the first time! He won his first coin-toss and opted to chase. The Kiwis made a few changes to their side and so did West Indies. There was a slight delay at the start due to rain but we eventually got to the middle. But after just 14 balls, rain returned and well, it never went away. And eventually. the players had to shake hands. New Zealand take the series 2-0.
Lockie Ferguson is named Player of the Series! Lockie says that he is really happy with the way the boys have played. On his 5-wicket haul, Ferguson states that he just had a good day. Tells that he has worked hard and mentions that he did the same in the Indian T20 League which put him in a good shape. Hopes to continue his good work. Kieron Pollard, the Windies skipper,  says that he is obviously disappointed. Tells that he didn't expect to be outplayed the way they have been. Hopes that the Test team manages to win the series. Feels that the conditions here are completely different than back home. Says that it is about self-introspection as a team and as an individual. Feels it is disappointing to not get a game here. Says that both the teams deserved to get the full series after spending such a long time in the quarantine. That's all from the 3-game T20I series where the Kiwis take the trophy with wins in the first 2 games. A damp squib to end but it was an exciting series nonetheless.
