0.6 : 0.6: Ankit Rajpoot to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! Landed outside off, Rohit opens the face of his bat and steers it between short third man and backward point!
0.1 : 0.1: Ankit Rajpoot to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Straightway down the ground! No movement. Only movement of the ball is going towards the boundary. Full and around off, de Kock drives it past the non-striker and beats mid off.
2.2 : 2.2: Ankit Rajpoot to Rohit Sharma, SIX! Easy to the eye! Full and outside off, Rohit leans and lofts it cleanly over mid off. It goes over the ropes, in fact. Straightaway, slip goes out now.
2.3 : 2.3: Ankit Rajpoot to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! This is classy batting. Rajpoot goes short and gives room outside off. Rohit cuts it behind point. The ball races away and deep backward point does get to his left and dives but in vain.
2.5 : 2.5: Ankit Rajpoot to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! 'CATCH IT!' is the shout from someone but there is no one to catch it! Full and around middle, De Kock gets across, goes down and laps it over short fine leg.
3.3 : 3.3: Jofra Archer to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Just wide! A length ball, around middle, de Kock swivels and pull-flicks it over square leg. The fielder rushes to his right and dives but the ball beats him.
4.3: Kartik Tyagi to Rohit Sharma, SIX! Up, up and away! A high full toss and Rohit says thank you. Smokes it with a pull over square leg.
4.5 : 4.5: Kartik Tyagi to Quinton de Kock, OUT! CAUGHT! First wicket in the Indian T20 League for the Under-19 sensation. A short ball, around middle and leg, de Kock looks to pull but the ball climbs onto him. He goes through with the shot and gets a top edge. The ball goes high in the air but only as far as say, where leg slip would have been. Jos Buttler, the keeper, calls for it and takes it calmly. The opening stand is cut one short of 50.
5.5: Tom Curran to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Lovely shot. Full and around middle, Suryakumar works it uppishly, but it is in the gap between mid-wicket and mid on. The ball races to the fence.
7.1 : 7.1: Shreyas Gopal to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Just a high-quality shot this one. Full and outside off, Surya comes down and lofts this over covers for a boundary. Tom Curran tried to get to it in the deep but cannot.
7.4 : 7.4: Shreyas Gopal to Rohit Sharma, SIX! Cracking shot! Gopal goes for the googly but drops it short. Sharma pulls, over deep mid-wicket and bags a maximum.
8.1 : 8.1: Kartik Tyagi to Suryakumar Yadav, Four! The batsman lofts this over the infield and bags himself a boundary.
8.2 : 8.2: Kartik Tyagi to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Soft hands there. A good length ball outside off, Yadav guides it defly to the third man fence for a boundary.
8.6 : 8.6: Kartik Tyagi to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! 12 runs off the over and Tyagi is very unlucky on this occasion though. Lands a length delivery outside off, Suryakumar looks to drive but a thick outside edge is induced. It goes wide of Buttler to the third man fence.
3.4 : 3.4: Jofra Archer to Quinton de Kock, SIX! No one is going to catch that! Fractionally short, around off, de Kock pulls it over mid-wicket!
9.1 : 9.1: Shreyas Gopal to Rohit Sharma, OUT! CAUGHT! SG gets RG! Big, big, wicket. The plan to persist with Gopal in spite of an expensive previous over works for Smith. Floated, around middle, this is the wrong 'un, Rohit looks to go downtown but does not quite hit it from the middle of the bat. Finds long on where Rahul Tewatia completes the formalities. A rare start not converted by the skipper.
9.2 : 9.2: Shreyas Gopal to Ishan Kishan, OUT! CAUGHT! Kishan goes too! 2 in 2 for Shreyas Gopal. Poor choice of a shot first up. Floated outside off, another googly, for some reason, goes for a big hoick across the line. Gets a leading edge which goes high in the air. Sanju Samson runs across to his right from cover and takes a dolly.
11.1 : 11.1: Shreyas Gopal to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Plays it beautifully, Suryakumar. Floated on off and middle, he goes down and sweeps this to the fine leg fence. He had to reach down a good deal though to play the shot.
11.2 : 11.2: Shreyas Gopal to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries for SKY. The 100 is up for Mumbai as well. On the shorter side outside off, Surya goes for the aerial route over covers and gets a boundary.
12.1 : 12.1: Rahul Tewatia to Krunal Pandya, SIX! He needed to do this, Krunal. He was on 2 off 9 deliveries. Flighted delivery around off, Krunal comes on the front foot and sends that soaring over long on.
13.6 : 13.6: Jofra Archer to Krunal Pandya, OUT! CAUGHT! Krunal goes for 12 and this time the promotion does not work well for him and Mumbai. Archer continuing his good form with the ball. It was shortish and on top of the stumps, Krunal shuffled across and looked to pull at that. Does not time it that well though. Ends up getting a top edge to mid-wicket where Gopal takes it safely.
15.1 : 15.1: Tom Curran to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Such good touch. Such wonderful touch from Suryakumar Yadav. It brings up his first 50 this season. Curran takes the pace off and bowls a slow length delivery outside off. Surya waits and then works that with deft hands past the diving Buttler and Archer at short third man for a boundary.
16.1: Jofra Archer to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Oh... what a welcome? How good is that shot? Very! A length ball, outside off, Hardik gets on top of the bounce and punches it past the bowler. Mid off is up and that is a boundary!
16.6 : 16.6: Jofra Archer to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! 150, did you say? Does not matter for a person who feels sky is the limit. Missed out on the last ball but again, he tries. Gets across and ramps this over short fine leg to end the over well. 4 off the first ball, 4 off the last, just a single in between. Overall, good from Archer.
17.2 : 17.2: Tom Curran to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Up and over! A full toss, outside off, Pandya flays it over cover, beating the sweeper to his right. The stand is now worth 31 from 20 balls.
17.5 : 17.5: Tom Curran to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX! No respect, no respect whatsoever! Great execution. Full and outside off, Yadav gets down and laps it over square leg for half a dozen!
17.6 : 17.6: Tom Curran to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Playing to the field! With fine leg up, Surya knows what he has to do. Gets a short ball but gets across and paddle-pulls it over short fine leg! 19 from the over. 12 balls to go.
18.5 : 18.5: Jofra Archer to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX! What a response! Everytime you feel you have seen everything in this game, you still get something different. Low full toss, outside off, Surya backs away and scoops it over the keeper towards third man! That is not a reverse. Just look at the bravery of that man!
19.3 : 19.3: Ankit Rajpoot to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! What a shot! Everyone knew what he was about to do and yet, he is successful. With fine leg up, the line would have been wide outside off and the length full. And Surya is ready. Runs across, picks the length and scoops it over short fine leg!
19.5 : 19.5: Ankit Rajpoot to Hardik Pandya, SIX! Doesn't time it but yet it will clear the boundary! Ohhh... these modern batsmen and their bats... A high full toss, around off, Pandya looks to swips across the line, mistimes it in the air and clears long on with ease!
1.4 : 1.4: Jasprit Bumrah to Steven Smith, OUT! CAUGHT! That's a huge wicket for Mumbai. Smith is strong on the leg side and plays the heave often. But this time that proves to be his undoing. He shuffles across and looks to heave over mid-wicket. Bumrah bowls it fullish outside off. It pitches and comes in a touch. Takes a faint inside edge and goes to the left of de Kock. The keeper dives to his left and takes an excellent catch.
2.1 : 2.1: Trent Boult to Jos Buttler, FOUR! This one is pure timing from Buttler. Full and outside off, he creams the drive through covers for a boundary.
2.5 : 2.5: Trent Boult to Sanju Samson, OUT! CAUGHT! Excellent bowling from Boult. Smart bowling, smart field placement from Sharma. Boult bangs it short and on top of the stumps, Samson looks to pull but gets a top edge. It goes just where the mid on fielder was stationed. Rohit Sharma, the skipper, takes an easy catch and Rajasthan in early trouble. 3-down before the end of the Powerplay.
3.4 : 3.4: Jasprit Bumrah to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Again, pure timing this from Buttler. Full and on middle and leg, he turns this to the mid-wicket fence. Krunal Pandya gives chase but he fails to cut it off.
4.4: Trent Boult to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Finds the gap for a boundary, Buttler. Fullish and outside off, he gently guides this in the gap between short third man and backward point and bags a boundary.
5.2 : 5.2: James Pattinson to Mahipal Lomror, FOUR! That is an excellent shot from Mahipal Lomror. Fullish and outside off, he drives this through covers for a boundary.
8.1 : 8.1: Rahul Chahar to Mahipal Lomror, OUT! CAUGHT! Another sensational catch. This edition of the League has not at all been short of this. Another Under-19 sensation, Anukul Roy, the substitute fielder, takes a sensational catch. Floated outside off, Lomror comes down the pitch and looks to chip this over covers.
8.2 : 8.2: Rahul Chahar to Jos Buttler, SIX! As long as Buttler is there, Rajasthan will feel they have a chance. It was floated around off, Buttler sends this into orbit, over deep square leg.
9.5 : 9.5: Krunal Pandya to Jos Buttler, SIX! STUPENDOUS! That is a magnificent shot from Mr. Joseph. Never easy to hit that shot, that long, against the spin. Landed outside off, Buttler leans and slaps it over wide long off.
10.5: Rahul Chahar to Jos Buttler, SIX! It is important for Buttler to stay if Rajasthan stand any chance to win here. He gets to his fifty and it is the first for him this season as well. Shortish on middle, he pulls this over mid-wicket for a maximum.
11.1 : 11.1: Krunal Pandya to Jos Buttler, SIX! And when Buttler gets going, it is tough to stop him. Shorter ball around the off stump line, Buttler rocks back and muscles the pull over wide long on.
12.2 : 12.2: Kieron Pollard to Jos Buttler, SIX! Just for a moment, long on thought he had a chance. A short ball, around off, Buttler backs away and drags it over long on!
12.3 : 12.3: Kieron Pollard to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Heaved away again. A length ball, a bit too straight, Buttler whips it over mid-wicket and beats long leg to his right.
13.3: James Pattinson to Jos Buttler, OUT! CAUGHT! Another fantastic catch, stunning. This time it is Kieron Pollard. Jos Buttler goes after a fantastic 70 off 44 and takes Rajasthan's little hopes on the way as well. The delivery was fullish on the stumps, Buttler swings across and looks to go over long on. However, it was the big Pollard there. He jumps and sticks out a hand, fails to hold on on the first attempt but safely pouches onto that in the second attempt. An astonishing catch, only Ki
13.6 : 13.6: James Pattinson to Rahul Tewatia, FOUR! Just the 5 runs off it and a wicket. Rajasthan still need 92 in 36 deliveries. Full and outside off, Tewatia goes for the aerial shot. Gets it over the infield on the off side and gets a boundary.
14.1 : 14.1: Kieron Pollard to Tom Curran, FOUR! Good effort from the extra cover fielder but it was not enough. Full and around off, Curran lofts this over covers. The ball is hurrying away to the fence and the man at extra cover runs to his left, dives but fails to keep it in. The umpire signals a boundary.
14.4 : 14.4: Kieron Pollard to Tom Curran, OUT! CAUGHT! Pollard getting into the act with the ball now. An easy catch for Hardik Pandya. It was fullish on off, Curran swings across the line. It goes towards deep-midwicket and Hardik Pandya, who was at deep square leg, runs to his left and takes it safely.
14.6 : 14.6: Kieron Pollard to Jofra Archer, FOUR! Gets a boundary to finish the over, does Archer. Shortish and outside off, he slaps this to the long off fence.
0.2 : 0.2: Trent Boult to Yashasvi Jaiswal, OUT! CAUGHT! That's a peach of a delivery from Trent Boult. The youngster has to go back after another dismal outing. Boult lands it on a length outside off and gets it to nip away after pitching. Yashashvi goes after it but gets an outside edge. Quinton takes it safely and Mumbai draw first blood.
0.4 : 0.4: Trent Boult to Steven Smith, FOUR! The first boundary in the chase. Fullish and outside off, Smith shuffles across, picks it from there and sends it to the deep square leg fence.
15.2 : 15.2: Jasprit Bumrah to Rahul Tewatia, OUT! BOWLED! It is not a yorker but it is a corker. Full and around leg, Tewatia looks to flick but misses. The ball hits his pads and then deflects onto the stumps.
15.5 : 15.5: Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Gopal, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND. Outside off, on a length, Gopal looks to run it down to third man but only gets a thick outside edge. Boy, this is ending all too quickly.
16.2 : 16.2: Trent Boult to Jofra Archer, SIX! Just over the fielder. A length ball, Archer swings and just about gets it over a leaping fielder at deep mid-wicket.
17.3 : 17.3: Jasprit Bumrah to Jofra Archer, FOUR! Length ball, outside off, drag-slapped through mid-wicket, explaining the definition of bisection through articulation to anyone who is struggling in geometry. Long on and deep mid-wicket were bisected to perfection.
17.5 : 17.5: Jasprit Bumrah to Jofra Archer, FOUR! Another pull shot. This is again between mid-wicket and long on. Not exactly the definition of bisection, but spoils Bumrah's figures nevertheless.
17.6 : 17.6: Jasprit Bumrah to Jofra Archer, OUT! CAUGHT. Bumrah gets 4. A length ball, around middle, Archer backs away and swings it towards long on. Easy catch for Kieron Pollard who never feels any catch is difficult, does he? 4-0-20-4 for Boom Boom tonight.
18.1 : 18.1: James Pattinson to Ankit Rajpoot, OUT! CAUGHT. The match ends. Well before time, in spite of all the delays. 11 balls not used by Rajasthan. Not that it would have mattered. But if it does come close in the net run rate section, towards the end, they could end up rueing. A length ball, outside off, Rajpoot backs away and looks to go inside out but simply manages to give a leaping catch to Rohit Sharma at short extra cover. MUMBAI WIN BY 57 RUNS.
