Following them onto the field are the mighty Mumbai players, led by their skipper, Rohit Sharma. They enter through the special red carpet, with fireworks greeting them on the sides. In walk Delhi's openers, Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan as well. What an opening partnership this was, on the big night, against Hyderabad i
0.1 : Trent Boult to Marcus Stoinis, OUT! CAUGHT! What a start, Trent Boult! Does not matter, the injury. You are a champion. Length ball around off, it comes back in intially but then shapes away, Stoinis looks to play at it but gets an outside edge. It goes to de Kock who takes it and is elated. Huge celebrations in the field as Mumbai are off to a roaring start in Dubai. That is a really good nut first up.
0.2 : Trent Boult to Ajinkya Rahane, Full and swinging into middle, flicked to wide mid on for a single. First runs off the bat for Delhi. Ajinkya is up and running as well.
0.1 : Ajinkya Rahane is out to bat! He has been promoted up the order to stabilize the innings. Needs to do so.
0.3 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, Shape away now. Lands a full ball around off, it pitches and goes away, Shikhar watchfully lets it be.
0.4 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, FOUR! First runs for Dhawan in the final. Full and on middle and leg, he flicks it with ease, wide of Kishan at mid-wicket and gets a boundary.
0.5 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, Full and around off, Dhawan shoulders arms to let it through. Boult is so brilliant with the new ball.
0.6 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, Full and nipping away, outside off, driven to mid off. What a good first over for Mumbai, 5 runs and a wicket off it.
Jasprit Bumrah to bowl from the other end! He has been excellent against Delhi in the tournament so far. Let's see how he fares here.
1.1 : Jasprit Bumrah to Ajinkya Rahane, Fullish and well outside off, pushed to Boult at third man for a single.
1.2 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shikhar Dhawan, Length ball on middle, dabbed to the off side. Dhawan wants a single but Rahane sends him back.
1.3 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shikhar Dhawan, FOUR! Ohh.... just over slip there. Heart must have been in the mouth there, for Dhawan. Good short ball from Bumrah, Dhawan looks to fend it away but gets it off the shoulder. It flies over the slips and races away to the third man boundary.
1.4 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shikhar Dhawan, Another excellent short ball, outside off, Shikhar lets it be.
1.5 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shikhar Dhawan, Ahh... that was the one we were all waiting for! The yorker, resemblance of Qualifier 1 coming to our minds, Dhawan digs it out, off the inner half. It goes behind the stumps and Delhi sneak in a quick single. Dhawan manages to dig the yorker out this time.
1.6 : Jasprit Bumrah to Ajinkya Rahane, Full and around off, Rahane looks to defend. He gets it off the inner half, it clips his pads and goes to the keeper on a bounce.
2.1 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, FOUR! Dhawan backs himself well there. Fullish and around off, he shimmies down the track and lofts it over the infield. The ball races away to the deep point fence.
2.2 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, On the pads, Dhawan looks to tuck it towards fine leg. Misses and it comes off his pads and goes to de Kock.
2.3 : Trent Boult to Shikhar Dhawan, Good length ball outside off, punched to point for a quick single.
2.4 : Trent Boult to Ajinkya Rahane, OUT! TAKEN! One more. Once again, it is Trent Boult. Mumbai are on fire. Full and on the pads, Ajinkya Rahane looks to flick but he does not do so well. He ends up clipping it faintly. It goes to the left of the keeper behind the stumps. Quinton moves to that direction and takes it. Mumbai appeal for a caught behind and the umpire is in unison with them, raising his finger immediately. Jinks does not want to review that, he knows he nicked that.
Shreyas Iyer walks out to bat! The skipper has to play a knock of substance here. His team needs him to fire.
2.5 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! Lucky there, Iyer. Short ball, outside off, at a searing pace. Iyer looked to play at it but then tries to pull away at the last minute. But he is a bit late, the ball takes the outside edge and flies over the slips, to third man, a boundary.
2.6 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, In the air.. but safe! Iyer is living dangerously here. Short ball, Iyer looks to play at it but is surprised by the bounce on that. The ball takes the shoulder of his bat and lobs on the on side. Trent runs in there and tries to take it but it falls short. Fortune is on Shreyas's side, for now.
3.1 : Jayant Yadav to Shikhar Dhawan, Tossed up on off, Dhawan looks to drive but gets an inside edge onto the pads. It rolls on the off side for one.
3.2 : Jayant Yadav to Shreyas Iyer, Flatter and on off, this is pushed towards cover for one.
3.3 : Jayant Yadav to Shikhar Dhawan, OUT! TIMBER! Delhi are in all sorts here! Dhawan is out of here. Everything Mumbai are doing is turning into gold. They got Jayant Yadav in who has struck in his first over and he has got a huge wicket. That is a poor shot from Dhawan. This is slower through the air, it lands on middle. Dhawan looks to play the slog sweep but misses it completely. The ball pitches and then turns away a little and hits the stumps. Delhi succumbing to the pressure of the fin
3.4 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, On middle, this is blocked out.
3.5 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Pant is off the mark! On middle, this is pulled nicely towards deep mid-wicket for two.
3.6 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, On middle, this is worked towards mid on for one. End of a brilliant over from Yadav.
3.3 : Who will walk out to bat now? Rishabh Pant, it is.
4.1 : Trent Boult to Rishabh Pant, Full and around off, driven down to mid on for a quick one.
4.2 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! Finds the gap there, Shreyas Iyer. Full and outside off, he drives it on the up, between cover-point and cover. The man at cover gives chase but the ball beats him, to the ropes, for a boundary.
4.3 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, Slash and a miss! On top of off on a length, the Delhi skipper clears his front leg and looks to slog it over covers. Misses.
4.4 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, Length ball on the body, tucked to square leg.
4.5 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! That is nicely placed. Length ball outside off, Shreyas Iyer camps back, stands tall and punches it wide of Krunal at cover-point. The ball races away for a boundary.
4.6 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, Short ball, pulled away uppishly but safely over square leg. A single.
5.1 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, Short and wide outside off, the Bandra lad stands tall and punches it to cover-point.
0.0 : Nathan Coulter-Nile is on! He will bowl the last over of the Powerplay.
5.2 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, Similar line, similar length, this one is punched to Ishan at cover-point.
5.3 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, DROPPED! Kishan drops a very difficult chance. Length ball on top of the stumps, Shreyas clears his front leg and absolutely hammered it. It was uppish and Kishan at cover-point gets a hand on it. He cannot hold onto it as it was firmly struck. Delhi take a single. An excellent effort from him though.
5.4 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, Outside off, guided to third man for a single.
5.5 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! Delhi are slowly inching back in here. Bowling on the pads is not going to help Nathan here. Iyer tucks it away with ease, wide of the keeper, and it races away to the fine leg boundary.
5.6 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, A dot. Fullish and around off, Delhi's captain shuffles left and right and manages to play it in front of square on the off side. He wants a single but Rishabh sends him back. Delhi are at 41/3 at the end of the Powerplay.
Jayant Yadav is back into the attack! He has a wicket to his name. Would love another one here. Switch of ends for him.
6.1 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Floated around off, driven to mid off.
6.2 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Tossed up around off, Pant leans in and drives it wide of the man at long off. A couple.
6.3 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Fumble and a couple. Full on middle, flicked to Coulter-Nile at fine leg. He fumbles to collect and Delhi take another run after taking a single already. 2 in total.
6.4 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Flighted on off, pushed to cover.
6.5 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Tossed up on middle and leg, eased down to long on for one.
6.6 : Jayant Yadav to Shreyas Iyer, A dot to finish. Quicker one outside off, Iyer looked to lift it over the keeper's head, towards third man. But he misses to do so. De Kock is a bit taken aback as it was the quicker one. He manages to take it but he seemed a tad surprised, as he was either expecting an outside edge or he was taken aback by the pace on that quicker one.
Krunal Pandya is on! Spin from both ends now.
7.1 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, Flatter on off, glanced to the leg side for a run.
7.2 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, Around off, Iyer clears his front foot and cuts but finds point.
7.3 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, On the shorter side on middle, Iyer taps it towards backward square leg. The call is for two and he gets it.
7.4 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, Lands it on off, it pitches and turns away a bit. Shreyas defends it back to the bowler, albeit surprised a little on the turn.
7.5 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, Floated around off, driven down to long off for a single. 50 up for Delhi with that.
7.6 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, A single. Tossed up on off, Rishabh Pant gets down and sweeps it to deep mid-wicket for one.
8.1 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Tossed up on off, driven to mid on off the inner half, a single.

8.3 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Flatter outside off, Pant shimmies down the track and cuts it through point. A single.
8.4 : Jayant Yadav to Shreyas Iyer, Flat on off and middle, Iyer comes to the off side, tucks it towards square leg, takes one.
8.5 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, On the pads, Rishabh comes down and wrists it to deep square leg. Comes back in for the second.
8.6 : Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, Fuller on middle, flicked down to long on. The call is for two. And Delhi run two. Excellent running here, especially in the last two balls.
DRINKS! Delhi are fighting back here courtesy this stand between Pant and Iyer but they will need to continue for at least another 5 overs. Mumbai know another wicket and they will have Delhi well on the back foot once again. Also, Bumrah has three overs left and with Pant out there, Rohit will be tempted to get him on. That battle will be very interesting and very important in the context of the game.
9.1 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, Tosses it very full on middle, bunted down to long on for a single.
9.2 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, SIX! And Rishabh's natural instincts are coming into play here. Floated around off, he dances down and thrashes it over the bowler's head, over the long off fence.
9.3 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, He comes down again, looks to slog this fuller ball on the leg side. Mistimes it to deep square leg. Just the single.
9.4 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, Flatter and around off, Iyer clips it to square leg for one.
9.5 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, SIX! Well, Pant hits them alright, doesn't he! Floated around off, he gets down and mows a huge slog sweep. Sends it packing over mid-wicket. Miles back!
9.6 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, A single. Flighted around off, Pant looked to defend but it goes off the outside edge towards point. 16 runs off that over. Looks like Delhi have been told by Ricky Ponting to motor on here. And they have started just that.
10.1 : Jasprit Bumrah to Rishabh Pant, Full on off, Rishabh closes the face of his bat to glance it to fine leg for a single.
0.0 : Bumrah is back on! Rohit Sharma senses he needs a wicket and he has gone to his gun bowler. He is also bowling against Pant.
10.2 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Length ball on the body, flicked to mid-wicket for one.
10.3 : Jasprit Bumrah to Rishabh Pant, Full on leg, glanced to mid on for a run.
10.4 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Short ball on top of the stumps, dabbed to the off side. Pant wants one but Shreyas says no.
10.5 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Short ball again, pulled over square leg, a couple.
10.6 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Single to finish. Shortish ball on the stumps, Iyer sways away from the line but plays it late, towards third man. Takes a single. Bumrah is a touch frustrated with that, a competititve smile from him.
Kieron Pollard is coming in to bowl now.
11.1 : Kieron Pollard to Shreyas Iyer, WIDE! A slower one but it is down the leg side. Iyer misses the flick. Wided.
Kieron Pollard to Shreyas Iyer, Shorter and around off, this is pushed down to long off for one.
11.2 : Kieron Pollard to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! Pant is into his elements here! Width on offer and he puts it away. Short and wide outside off. Pant cuts it uppishly but past the diving backward point fielder for a boundary.
11.3 : Kieron Pollard to Rishabh Pant, Slashes and misses! This is shorter and outside off. Pant looks to cut again but this is a little too close to play that shot. He is beaten.
11.4 : Kieron Pollard to Rishabh Pant, BEATEN AGAIN! This is a seam-up ball! It is shorter and just outside off. Once again, there is not a lot of room to cut but Pant still goes for it and misses again.
11.5 : Kieron Pollard to Rishabh Pant, The call is for two but it is just one! On middle, this is worked through mid-wicket. The fielder fires it to the keeper who slips but there is a fielder backing up.
11.6 : Kieron Pollard to Shreyas Iyer, SIX! Kaboom! Iyer joins the act now! End of another huge over for Delhi. Iyer shuffles right across and this is a slower one on off from wide off the crease. Iyer goes with the angle and tonks it over the mid-wicket fence.
12.1 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, Pant comes down the track and hits it hard through covers for only one.
12.2 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, A slower one, it holds in the surface a touch. It is pushed down to long on for one.
0.0 : Nathan Coulter-Nile is back to bowl now. 1-0-6-0 for him so far. Can he continue to be this economical?
12.3 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, Well bowled! Slower and fuller on middle, this is hit down to long on for one.
12.4 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, One more slower one! It just does not arrive. It is shorter. Iyer is way too early in the pull. It is mistimed towards mid-wicket for one. This is a good over so far. Clever bowling from Nathan.
12.5 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, A dot now! A yorker on off, Pant jams it out off the toe-end towards mid off. Can he end the over well now?
12.6 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, He does end it well! Just a single which means only five from the over. Shorter and on middle, this is pulled through square leg for one.
13.1 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, WIDE! Well wide outside off. Left alone. Wided.
Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, Fires this but it is a full toss. Only goes for a single though down to long on.
0.0 : DRINKS! Excellent stuff from Delhi. They were toterring earlier, just like in the first Qualifier. But the Iyer-Pant partnership, now worth 77 runs has resuscitated them well. These two are also looking dangerous, bludgeoning the loose balls and are showing no signs of being cowered down by the quick loss of wickets earlier. Now, with 7 overs to go, the setting for the two is perfect. Both need to reburnish their credentials. Can they power their side to over 170? This passage will tell us who m
13.2 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, On middle, this is pushed through covers only for one. Iyer dong the right thing by giving the strike to Pant.
13.3 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, Well bowled! It is full and wide outside off. Not possible to drag that on the leg side. It is jammed out through covers for one.
13.4 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, A dot now! Shorter and outside off, it turns away a touch. Iyer looks to hit it a little too hard but is beaten. Iyer lost his shape a little there.
13.5 : Krunal Pandya to Shreyas Iyer, A good over so far! Another single. On the pads, this is worked through mid-wicket for one.
13.6 : Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! The last ball spoils the over! Really clever shot from Pant. Just uses the pace of Krunal. He fires it full and on the pads. Pant just guides it past backward square leg and it races away to the fence.
14.1 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, Angled into the pads, not giving the batter a lot of room. It is worked down to long on for one.
14.2 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, WIDE! Short and down the leg side. Pant initially looks to pull but then bails out. Wided.
Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, The idea was right but it did not come off! Pant looks to play it with the angle past short fine leg. He does connect but does not get past that fielder.
14.4 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! Top edge and over the keeper! Luck on Pant's side. This is short and on middle. Pant looks to pull but gets a top edge. It goes over the keeper for a boundary.
14.3 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! Up and over! Cometh the hour, cometh the man! What a fifty from Pant. HIs team needed him to fire, he has struggled throughout the tournament but he has come good at the big occasion. He knows his job is not done yet. This is a gift for him. Short and on the body. It is pulled over short fine leg.
14.5 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, Pant this time comes down the track. Nathan bangs it short again. It is mistimed towards mid off.
14.6 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, OUT! GONE! Pant has played into the hands of Mumbai! Big, big wicket. Pant was looking to tee off but falls in the attempt to do so. A good innings from him but his team needed him to continue. This is short and on the body. Pant once again looks to go over the fine leg fence but this time does not time it that well. The fielder too is right back at the fence. Hardik Pandya takes a good catch. Coulter-Nile gets his revenge and a wicket to end the over.
Who's in next? Shimron Hetmyer? Yes, it is him. Also, Jayant Yadav is back. 3-0-18-1 as he bowls his last over.
15.1 : Jayant Yadav to Shreyas Iyer, Outside off, punched through covers for a single.
15.2 : Jayant Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer, BEATEN! A bit of turn there. Lands it on off, it pitches and breaks away. Beats the outside edge of Hetmyer's bat as he looked to defend.
15.3 : Jayant Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer, And again! This time the length is slightly shorter, around off, Shimron backs away and looks to drive but misses it again.
15.4 : Jayant Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer, Flatter on middle and leg, this is worked to the leg side for a single.
15.5 : Jayant Yadav to Shreyas Iyer, Full and around off, stroked firmly, but straight to Pollard at long off. A single.
15.6 : Jayant Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer, FOUR! Nice inside out shot from Shimron Hetmyer. Full and around off, he comes on the front foot and lifts it over covers. It was well wide of the man at long off, the fielder runs there but to no avail.
Bumrah is back! He has two left. How he bowls in the death could well indicate which way this game is sliding towards. His two overs are pretty crucial.
16.1 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! Not perfectly timed but good enough for a boundary. Short and wide outside off, Shreyas hops and strokes it over Pandya at mid off. Pandya gives it a chase but the ball beats him to the deep cover fence.
16.2 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Full and on off and middle, flicked to short mid-wicket.
16.3 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Fullish and outside off, Iyer looked to steer that to third man but ends up chopping it back to the keeper.
16.4 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Outside off, Shreyas Iyer moves to the off side and taps this to third man for a couple. And that brings Shreyas' fifty. His third this season.
16.5 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! CRUNCHED! Short and around off, Iyer clears his front foot and hacks it over backward point. The ball runs away to the boundary. He is very good when he clears his front foot, Shreyas Iyer.
16.6 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Low full toss outside off, Shreyas drives it down to mid off. Pinches a single. He will keep strike for the 18th over.
Trent Boult is back on now! He has one over to go. Can he get another wicket?
17.1 : Trent Boult to Shreyas Iyer, Short ball, pulled away aerially towards deep mid-wicket. It is just short of Krunal Pandya there, just the single. Iyer would count himself to be lucky there.
17.2 : Trent Boult to Shimron Hetmyer, OUT! CAUGHT! Lovely slower ball from Boult. It may look simple for many of us at home but it was a difficult ball to execute. It was short and outside off, Hetmyer is done in by the lack of pace there. He fails to read it and adjust well. He looked to steer that to third man but ends up hitting it uppishly to Coulter-Nile at short third man. The Aussie squats and takes it with ease.
Axar Patel walks out to bat! He has played a few decent cameos, can he play one here?
17.3 : Trent Boult to Axar Patel, Fullish and around off, blocked to the off side.
17.4 : Trent Boult to Axar Patel, FOUR! Pace there, Axar is off the mark with a four! Short and wide outside off, Patel cuts it fiercely through backward point, places it well wide of third man and the ball runs away into the fence.
17.5 : Trent Boult to Axar Patel, Short ball, takes Axar Patel by surprise, as he looked to fend at it. Takes the shoulder of his bat and falls back on the track safely.
17.6 : Trent Boult to Axar Patel, A single to end. Just the 6 runs and a wicket off that over, a good one for Mumbai. Shortish on middle and leg, stroked down to long on for a single.
18.1 : Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Low full toss around off, driven to the right of long on for a run. Good start for Mumbai in the penultimate over.
18.2 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, Very full on middle, Iyer moves a touch to the off side and wrists it to deep backward square leg. Just the single though.
18.3 : Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Low full toss outside off, AP strokes it down to long on for a single.
18.4 : Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, NOT OUT! Umpire's call it is and Shreyas stays. Fullish on the stumps, Shreyas moves a touch to the off side and looks to flick. To the naked eye, he seems to have missed it. It hits his pads and goes to the leg side. Bumrah appeals but the umpire does not concur. He straightaway indicates to his skipper to take a review. And a review is in. In comes Ultra Edge, no spike. What does Ball Tracker have to say? Umpire's call - Not out.
18.5 : Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Full on middle, flicked to mid-wicket. Delhi want a couple. The throw comes to the non-striker's end but Shreyas makes it in, albeit by just.
18.6 : Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Fullish around off, stroked to cover. A dot and it is a good finish to the penultimate over. Bumrah though is wicketless in the final. Finishes with 4-0-28-0.
18.3 : Review time! Mumbai review as an appeal for an LBW has been turned down. Bumrah straightaway wanted the review but it seemed the impact was outside off.
18.6 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to bowl the last!
19.1 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, Short ball, Iyer mistimes the pull, to short mid-wicket. Takes one.
19.2 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Axar Patel, OUT! CAUGHT! Nathan Coulter-Nile has a wicket, second of the evening. Anukul Roy, the substitute fielder, takes it. Short and slow outside off, Axar does not read that well, he goes for the pull. Gets it uppishly but straight into the hands of Anukul at deep mid-wicket. He did not have to move an inch.
19.3 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, Low full toss outside off, stroked to point. Shreyas says no to the single.
19.4 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, Short and slow, outside off, Iyer is early into the pull shot. Misses it thoroughly. Good bowling from Nathan.
19.5 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, SIX! Waited this time, waited for it, slower ball dispatched. It was short as well, sits up nicely to be hit. Iyer goes back and pulls it over mid-wicket. Gets a maximum. 150 up for Delhi as well.
19.6 : Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, OUT! RUN OUT! Mumbai get a wicket on the last ball as well. Kagiso is run out when he was running back to the bowler's end, for the second. Fullish ball around off, Iyer looks to flick but gets a leading edge. It falls safely in front of the man at long off. It is the last ball and hence they try to go for the second, after taking a single. Surya was the man at long off, releases the throw to Coulter-Nile. The bowler collects and whips the bails off at
Now then, 157 is the target! Mumbai will back themselves to chase this down but the wicket is not as easy as it looks. There is turn and the slower balls are holding a bit. Delhi have a very good bowling attack but they will need to bowl well. Can they do so? We will find out. Stay tuned for the second innings in a while.
A brilliant comeback from Mumbai to keep Delhi under 160! It has to be them who are the happier side heading into the break. Delhi though, won't be too disappointed with how things have ended especially after the start they got. They were three down within the Powerplay courtesy Boult and Yadav but Pant and Iyer then fought back. The two played themselves in and then attacked when needed.
Pant though was dismissed when his team needed to continue. Hetmyer too could not contribute a lot. It seemed like Iyer too ran out of gas after his fifty as he also failed to find the boundaries towards the end. At one stage, 170 looked on the cards but they have fallen well short of it. Still though, this is a competitive total.
The Mumbai bowling was spot on to begin with but it was the middle overs where they struggled. The likes of Pandya, Pollard and Coulter-NIle failed to continue the momentum they had in the Powerplay. However, Nathan did come back well towards the end and as always, Bumrah and Boult did extremely well too. Mumbai though will be very happy with where they are in the game.

The Delhi players too make their way to their respective positions on the field. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock too make their way to the middle, through the fireworks studded red carpet. Ravichandran Ashwin, the right-arm offbreak bowler, to begin proceedings with the ball for Delhi. And here we go in the chase...

3.3 : Anrich Nortje to Rohit Sharma, On a length on top of off, driven back to the bowler.
3.4 : Anrich Nortje to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! You always love to see RS play the pull shot. Shortish ball on the body, Sharma swivels a touch and pulls it well, towards the fine leg boundary. 3.5 : Anrich Nortje to Rohit Sharma, Full and around off, Hitman looks to drive it to the off side but gets it off the inner half to mid on.
3.6 : Anrich Nortje to Rohit Sharma, SIX! He was born to play this shot, Rohit Sharma. Short ball, he swivles inside his crease and pulls. Connects it exceptionally well and sends it well over deep square leg.
Marcus Stoinis is on! He was brilliant in the game before this one with the ball. Could not do a lot with the bat but can he turn it around with the ball?
4.1 : Marcus Stoinis to Quinton de Kock, OUT! TAKEN! Got him, that's gone. Desperately needed a breakthrough, Delhi. Outside off on a good length, Quinton de Kock slashes hard at it. Tossed up on off, Rohit Sharma pushes it to mid off. He wants a single and comes down, almost to the other end. Yadav watches the ball all the way and says no to his skipper. 16.2 : Anrich Nortje to Rohit Sharma, OUT! TAKEN! That is a brilliant catch. The substitute fielder has plucked a brilliant catch. A slower bouncer, Rohit Sharma looks to pull but he does not seem to have got a control of that. It is uppish and seems to be landing in front of the fielder at deep mid-wicket. Jubilation scenes in their camp! 5 time winners, back-to-back Indian T20 League titles for them. What a dominant performance, not only in this final but in this whole tournament. They have been the best side in this tournament by some distance and their performance in the final just adds to that statement.
The Delhi bowling looked flat! They had no answer to the approach with which the Mumbai openers came out. Ashwin, Rabada and Nortje went for runs early on. Stoinis too was expensive despite getting a wicket. Axar was the only one who bowled with control but defending a target which is not very big, you need all your bowlers to be at their best.
Chasing a decent total on a wicket which did seem a little slow, Mumbai needed a good start from their openers and they got that. De Kock did fall but Rohit Sharma continued. The skipper led from the front when it mattered the most. He was well supported by Yadav and Kishan. The partnerships with the two and his knock took them to the brink of victory. There were a few wickets to fall towards the end but that was just some consolation for Delhi.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, Delhi were rocked early as they were three down inside the Powerplay. They did fight back courtesy Pant and Iyer. However, they failed to finish strongly and ended up with a decent total. However, that total was probably 20 runs short of what would have challenged Mumbai as they have stormed home with utmost ease.
