Match over
0.1 : 0.1: Deepak Chahar to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! Very fine and it runs away for a boundary. Strays with a fuller one on the pads, Tripathi glances this away to the fine leg fence.
2.3 : 2.3: Deepak Chahar to Shubman Gill, FOUR! He is a classy player, Shubman Gill! Shortish and outside off, he stands tall and pulls this over mid-wicket.
2.5 : 2.5: Deepak Chahar to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! Unlucky for Thakur there. It was a good effort from him. Full and on off, Tripathi goes for the big heave, over the leg side. Gets it over the mid-wicket region. Thakur gives chase and puts in a dive to keep the ball back in. To the naked eye it looked like a good save. But the umpires want to have a look. And replays indicate there was contact with the boundary as the ball was pushed in.
2.6 : 2.6: Deepak Chahar to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! Short length delivery, Tripathi pulls, well to the right of short fine leg and gets a boundary to finish the over.
3.2 : 3.2: Sam Curran to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! He is a very busy cricketer, Tripathi. On leg, he flicks it away to the fine leg fence, well to the right of Watson at short fine leg.
3.6 : 3.6: Sam Curran to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! Finishes the over with a boundary, again, does Tripathi. Full and around off, he lofts this over mid off.
4.2 : 4.2: Shardul Thakur to Shubman Gill, OUT! CAUGHT! Yes, a faint nick. Shubman Gill has to go and go pretty early. On a good length outside off, Shubman goes for the pull shot. It takes a faint bottom edge and goes low to Dhoni. The Chennai skipper bends and takes it well.
4.4 : 4.4: Shardul Thakur to Nitish Rana, FOUR! Flashing and flashing hard. Pays dividends. Nitish Rana is underway rightaway. Full and outside off, he slashes hard at it. Gets it to the third man boundary off a thick outside edge.
5.4: Deepak Chahar to Rahul Tripathi, SIX! Change of pace but Tripathi gives it a good whack. Full and outside off, he lofts this over covers for a maximum. Huge one it was.
6.4: Karn Sharma to Rahul Tripathi, SIX! Would have been a fantastic catch had he taken that. Full ball, Tripathi looks to launch this over long on for a biggie. He does get it by just as Sam jumps and looks to pouch it but the ball goes past. Needed a taller fielder there, Chennai.
8.1 : 8.1: Karn Sharma to Nitish Rana, OUT! CAUGHT! 12 runs off Karn's first over and now he gets a wicket. It was a good catch in the deep, even though it looked simple. Flighted around off, Nitish goes for the slog sweep. Gets it high in the air at deep mid-wicket. Ravindra Jadeja there takes a simple catch.
9.2 : 9.2: Dwayne Bravo to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! Slammed! FIFTY FOR TRIPATHI! He was very good in the last game in the middle order but tonight he has been given the chance to open and he has made the most of it. Very fine knock from Rahul Tripathi tonight! Bravo gives width outside off, Tripathi slams it over cover-point and gets a boundary to bring up his fifty.
9.4 : 9.4: Dwayne Bravo to Sunil Narine, SIX! Narine gets his first biggie of the game! Full around off, Narine frees his arms and slams it over extra cover for a boundary.
9.5 : 9.5: Dwayne Bravo to Sunil Narine, FOUR! Very good shot from Narine! Nothing wrong with the delivery, it is very full around off. Narine slices it over backward point and gets a boundary.
10.6 : 10.6: Karn Sharma to Sunil Narine, OUT! CAUGHT! Spectacular catch this, something we have seen a lot earlier in this edition. Floated around off, Sunil looks to heave that over mid-wicket. Jadeja at the deep runs to his right, dives and takes the catch.
11.1 : 11.1: Shardul Thakur to Eoin Morgan, FOUR! Full and outside off, Morgan powers the drive through covers for a boundary. Off the mark in style.
13.6 : 13.6: Sam Curran to Eoin Morgan, OUT! CAUGHT! Morgan does not even bother to lift his head. Walks back. Short length delivery on top of middle and leg, Morgan looks to pull but gets it off his gloves. It goes behind and Dhoni takes it safely.
14.1 : 14.1: Deepak Chahar to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! Lovely shot. Full on middle and leg, Rahul lofts this over short fine leg and gets it to the boundary.
14.4 : 14.4: Deepak Chahar to Rahul Tripathi, SIX! Drifting on the pads and it is too easy for Tripathi. Flicks it over fine leg for a biggie.
15.2 : 15.2: Shardul Thakur to Andre Russell, OUT! CAUGHT! Shardul Thakur has another one. Another of those faintest of edges. Short ball outside off, Russell swivels in his crease and looks to pull. Gets the faintest of outside edges. It goes behind and the Chennai skipper takes it with ease.
16.3 : 16.3: Dwayne Bravo to Rahul Tripathi, FOUR! In the gap and he gets a boundary. Shortish and outside off, too much of width on offer. Tripathi punishes it. Hammers it to the deep point fence.
16.5 : 16.5: Dwayne Bravo to Rahul Tripathi, OUT! CAUGHT! Right then, Chennai have got the dangerous Tripathi and might have put the plug on a good deal of runs here. Excellent field placement from Dhoni again. Very full length delivery outside off, Tripathi looked to jam it out. However, he ends up digging it out towards Watson at short third man. The umpires wanted to have a look whether it went to the fielder on the full. Replays indicate so and Chennai have snared a big one here.
17.4 : 17.4: Shardul Thakur to Pat Cummins, FOUR! In the gap and that is a boundary. He can bat, Pat Cummins. Short ball, he pulls and sends this to the deep mid-wicket fence.
17.6 : 17.6: Shardul Thakur to Pat Cummins, SIX! Does not finish the over well, Thakur. Fullish on the stumps, Cummins launches that over mid-wicket.
18.5 : 18.5: Sam Curran to Dinesh Karthik, DROPPED AND A BOUNDARY! Jadeja is an exceptional fielder, you would normally not expect these from him. Short ball, Karthik pulls. Jadeja runs to his right from deep mid-wicket. Should have been a comfortable catch for his standards, but he spills it and it goes beyound for a boundary, despite Jadeja trying his best to stop it from going so.
18.6 : 18.6: Sam Curran to Dinesh Karthik, OUT! CAUGHT! He had to go at this stage, Dinesh Karthik. Cannot fault him for that. Back of a length delivery outside off, the Kolkata skipper slashes at it. However it goes straight to Shardul Thakur at third man. Thakur fumbles on the first take but manages to hold on in the second. Chennai doing well to contain the scoring in the end here.
19.2 : 19.2: Dwayne Bravo to Kamlesh Nagarkoti, OUT! Caught! The slower one does the trick. Bravo uses his experience and follows the quick bouncer with a slower ball which is on a length. Nagarkoti looks to hit it over mid off but ends up chipping it straight to the man. Du Plessis is never going to drop these.
19.5 : 19.5: Dwayne Bravo to Shivam Mavi, OUT! Caught! Brilliant catch from Dhoni! Fulller outside off, Mavi swings but gets a thick outside edge. Dhoni had one of his glove off as he wanted to deny them a bye. The ball goes to his right. He gets his one glove and the other hand to it. The ball lobs and goes away, so MS wears his superman cape and dives to finish the catch.
19.6 : 19.6: Dwayne Bravo to Varun Chakravarthy, OUT! RUN OUT! Another fantastic work from MS Dhoni! Low full toss on the pads, Varun flicks it towards deep mid-wicket and looks for two but the fielder gets to the ball quickly and sends a good throw towards Dhoni who manages to whips the bails off quickly.
0.6 : 0.6: Pat Cummins to Shane Watson, FOUR! Crispy boundary to end the over! Overpitched on off, the first bad ball from Cummins. Watson creams his drive through covers for the first boundary of the innings.
1.5 : 1.5: Shivam Mavi to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! First boundary for Faf du Plessis! Another back of a length delivery outside off, du Plessis punches it over extra cover for a single.
1.6 : 1.6: Shivam Mavi to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! Excellent wrist work from Faf du Plessis! Good length ball on off, Faf comes inside the stumps and uses his wrists to whip it over mid-wicket for a boundary. Solid start for Chennai.
2.5 : 2.5: Pat Cummins to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! Slashed! Short ball on off, du Plessis stands tall and pulls it with confidence through mid-wicket for a boundary. That is the shot of a man in form.
3.2 : 3.2: Shivam Mavi to Shane Watson, FOUR! Deft touch from Watson. Length ball around off, Watson waits for it and uses the pace of the ball and just opens the face of the bat to place it through backward point for a boundary.
3.4 : 3.4: Shivam Mavi to Faf du Plessis, OUT! CAUGHT! Mavi strikes! It is the prized wicket of Faf du Plessis! Great stuff by the young Mavi.  Good length ball outside off, it zips off the surface. Du Plessis looks to punch it on the off side but the ball shapes away a bit and takes the outside edge of du Plessis' willow.  The ball goes to the right of Dinesh Karthik. The Kolkata skipper makes no mistake and takes a good catch.
4.3 : 4.3: Pat Cummins to Ambati Rayudu, FOUR! Educational edge! Good length all on off, Rayudu plays it late and away from fly slip for a boundary.
5.2 : 5.2: Shivam Mavi to Shane Watson, FOUR! A bit of a gift as the fine leg fielder was inside the circle but Watson plays this well. Back of a length ball on the pads, he flicks this off his pads past the fielder at short fine leg for a boundary.
5.3 : 5.3: Shivam Mavi to Shane Watson, SIX! Hammered! Shane Watson smashes this as it was in his zone! Short ball around off, Watson rocks on his back foot and pulls this over the fence at deep square leg. This shot also brings up the 50 for Chennai.
6.6 : 6.6: Varun Chakravarthy to Ambati Rayudu, FOUR! This is cracked! Rayudu absolutely hammers this one and this will fetch him four runs! Flatter ball around middle, Rayudu rocks on his back foot and pulls this one towards the deep mid-wicket region and it will run away to the boundary.
7.3 : 7.3: Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Ambati Rayudu, FOUR! He likes playing that Rayudu, loves giving the charge to the fast bowlers. Full and outside off, Rayudu comes down and lofts this over cover for a boundary.
8.1 : 8.1: Varun Chakravarthy to Shane Watson, FOUR! Delightfully played by Shane Watson. Floated outside off, Watson shuffles across, gets down and scoops this over fine leg.
9.3 : 9.3: Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Shane Watson, FOUR! Great effort in the deep though. Short ball, Watson pulls it firmly. Mid-wicket gets to his right and looks to stop it but it goes through for a boundary. That was hit powerfully by Watson.
9.6 : 9.6: Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Shane Watson, FOUR! A hint of room, was not the worst of deliveries, but Watson is that kind of a player. Full and just outside off, Watson advances down the track and lofts that over covers for another boundary. Sweeper cover gave chase but in no way was he going to get there.
12.1 : 12.1: Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Ambati Rayudu, OUT! CAUGHT! A much needed wicket for Kolkata here. Chennai were having it all too easy. Short length delivery, Rayudu goes to the leg side and pulls this. He wanted to clear long on but ends up hitting it straight to the man there. Shubman Gill takes an easy catch. A twist in the tale awaits?
13.1: Sunil Narine to Shane Watson, OUT! LBW! It looked unlikely that it would be hitting the stumps, but umpire's call and Watson has to go. Right, so is there a twist in the tale then? Shorter ball around middle and leg, Watson goes back and looks to pull. Misses to get hit on the pads. Narine appeals for LBW and the umpire gives it straightaway. Watson has a chat with his skipper and decides to take the review. But umpire's call and he has to walk back to the dressing room.
15.4 : 15.4: Sunil Narine to Sam Curran, SIX! Good use of the feet. Floated outside off, Curran comes down the track and lofts this over long off.
15.5 : 15.5: Sunil Narine to Sam Curran, FOUR! Curran needs to play the aggressor role here and he has started off well. Flighted outside off, Curran lofts this over covers. Russell runs to his right but cannot get there. A boundary.
16.2 : 16.2: Varun Chakravarthy to MS Dhoni, FOUR! How was that! Chakravarthy pitches it short and well outside off. MS Dhoni, who was waiting to unleash his power, clobbers that over cover-point.
16.3 : 16.3: Varun Chakravarthy to MS Dhoni, OUT! BOWLED! Chakravarthy gets his revenge though. MS Dhoni has to walk back. It was floated around off and middle, Dhoni looked to go for the mighty sweep. Wanted to clear the deep square leg fence. He got away with an inside edge earlier, to Narine. This time though, he misses and is cleaned up. The Yellow Army still needs 39 in 21 balls.
17.1 : 17.1: Andre Russell to Sam Curran, OUT! CAUGHT! And Andre Russell strikes straightaway. Chennai, what are they doing to themselves here? Shortish ball outside off, Curran looked to slap that over covers but ends up giving catching practice to Morgan there. Curran's little cameo comes to an end.
18.2 : 18.2: Sunil Narine to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR! Much needed boundary for Chennai here. Short ball, Kedar rocks back and pulls this wide of long on. The fielder at long on ran to his right and tried to cut it off but fails to do so. 31 needed in 10 now.
18.5 : 18.5: Sunil Narine to Ravindra Jadeja, FOUR! Another much needed boundary for Chennai here. Sunil Narine bowls it short and well outside off, Jadeja throws the kitchen sink at it and gets it over backward point for a boundary.
19.4 : 19.4: Andre Russell to Ravindra Jadeja, SIX! Wonderful shot but a little too late from Jadeja. Shortish outside off, he smokes this over point for a maximum. 19 needed in 2 balls. Extras and a boundary might help, if they happen.
19.5 : 19.5: Andre Russell to Ravindra Jadeja, FOUR! Goes for four this time. 150 up for Chennai with that. But again, just as we said earlier, too little too late. Short ball, Jadeja ferociously pulls this to the deep square leg fence.
19.6 : 19.6: Andre Russell to Ravindra Jadeja, FOUR! Another boundary, but the same point - too little too late. Full and outside off, Jadeja creams this through covers. Does not matter as KOLKATA WIN BY 10 RUNS!
