What a power-packed batting performance this has been from England. They have just gone on rampage and put on a massive, massive total here. It even looked at one stage that they may scale 400 but they will not worry about that too much. 386 is huge and after being put into bat, Eoin Morgan could have asked nothing more from his men.
It started pretty sedately for England though. They played out Shakib Al Hasan in his initial spell and went after the other bowlers. Jason Roy was terrific and timed almost all the balls he attacked from the middle of the bat enroute to his ton. He first added a century stand with Bairstow and then a half-century stand with Root. He went past 150 but fell when one felt that he would easily scale a double ton. That though did not mean there would be relief for Bangladesh as Jos Buttler carried t
The bowling of Bangladesh bore a sorry look to it. There was no great performance and they were made to look pedestrian by the English batsmen. Every one who bowled went for over 6.5 RPO! Not a good day at the office. Time for an interview.
Jason Roy, the star of the innings for his 153 not out is down on the sidelines giving an interview. Roy says it was good fun and he just wanted to redeem himself for the last game. On being asked if there was a change in game plan when spinners were bowled early to him, Roy tells that there was a change in game plan as they did not allow them to take early wickets as teams have been looking to get early wickets against them. On the pitch, he says there is something on the pitch especially in th
Thus, one could say that England is in firm control of this game. 387 is not going to be easy for the Asian Tigers to chase down. They will need a special knock or two from their batsmen. We will return for the chase in a while.
0.0 : We are back for the chase! The English players are out on the field. They are in a huddle as their skipper, Eoin Morgan is having a word with them before they take their positions. Jonny Bairstow is seen donning the wicket keeping gloves and Jos Buttler has not made his way out to field. England will hope that it's just a niggle and nothing serious. Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar walk out to open the innings for Bangladesh. Chris Woakes to bowl the first over with the first new ball.
0.1 : C Woakes to T Iqbal, Confusion to start with! Woakes bowls a length delivery on off, Tamim pushes it towards mid off. He starts off late. Sarkar is watching the ball and not his partner. Tamim spots that, turns back and gets in. There was an easy single available there. Poor from Sarkar.

3.2 : J Archer to S Sarkar, OUT! Knocks him over! An absolute peach to get rid of Sarkar. Just unplayable! Archer steams in and lands it just outside off, Sarkar looks to play the original trajectory. The ball though straightens. Goes between the gap of bat and pad and hits the top of off. The ball almost went over the fence behind after hitting the top of off. Indicates at what pace this guy is bowling. Dreadful start for Bangladesh.
The new man in Shakib Al Hasan. He holds the key for Bangladesh as he has been their key batsman in this tournament.

On how difficult it is to bowl to players like Roy, Mortaza says in such sort of wicket it is very difficult to bowl to them as they are used to playing in this wicket. He admits that looking back he would have made a different choice after winning the toss. He though insists that it was a good wicket to bat on in the second innings and believes that 320-330 would h
England skipper, Eoin Morgan says there were more positives to take out of this game, they took lessons from the Pakistan game and got it all right in this one. On Roy's performance, England skipper says it is great to see Jason Roy make a huge score and set the platform of which the lower order batsmen could take advantage of. On the opening stand, Morgan says he felt nice when the opening stand did well against the spin threat early on. Also reckons that their own bowlers are a huge threat as
