Match over
0.4 : 0.4: U Yadav to S Dhawan, FOUR! Up and over! That one sighter was all Dhawan needed. He dances down the track and also makes room. Carves it over the cover fielder and the ball races away. Off the mark with the first boundary of the game.
1.4: W Sundar to P Shaw, FOUR! SMASHED! Shaw dances down the track, Sundar bowls it short. Shaw does well to adjust and hit it over the bowler's head for a boundary. First for the right-hander.
1.5 : 1.5: W Sundar to P Shaw, FOUR! Consecutive boundaries! This time there is width offered outside off, Shaw pounces onto it and he cuts it past the diving point fielder for a boundary. Poor by Sundar, if he is bowling quick, he needs to bowl it in the line of the stumps. If he offers width, it would be easy for the batter.
2.1 : 2.1: Y Chahal to S Dhawan, SIX! Dealing in boundaries are the openers! Dhawan knows the new ball is the best time to bat and he is looking to make full use of it. Straightaway uses his feet against Chahal. Gets to the pitch of the ball and lofts it over the bowler for a biggie. First of the game.
2.4 : 2.4: Y Chahal to S Dhawan, FOUR! Up and over! Too easy for Dhawan. It is on his pads again, he goes down on one knee and then plays the slog sweep over the square leg fielder and into the fence.
2.6 : 2.6: Y Chahal to P Shaw, FOUR! 15 from Chahal's first and Delhi are off to a flying start. Shaw gets into the act this time. Chahal gives this a lot of air and lands it on middle, Shaw plants his front foot forward and then lofts it over mid on.
3.2 : 3.2: U Yadav to P Shaw, FOUR! Just delightful! Not a very bad delivery this. It is on a length and around off, Shaw stays leg side of the delivery and times his punch through covers. You need not run for those.
3.3 : 3.3: U Yadav to P Shaw, OUT! The catch is as clean as a whistle. Umesh Yadav strikes. The change of ends does the trick for him. He bowls another short one but this is closer to the off pole. Shaw picks the wrong ball to cut as there is not a lot of room on offer there. An outside edge is induced which directly hits the chest of Patel. He though seems to have managed to hang on to the catch but there is no celebration from him as he is down in pain. Hence, the umpires have a doubt if he has take
3.4 : 3.4: U Yadav to S Iyer, FOUR! EDGY! Iyer is off the mark in style. Short and outside off, Iyer throws his bat at it but the ball stays low. It goes off the bottom edge and to the third man fence.
4.1 : 4.1: N Saini to S Dhawan, SIX! Dismissed! A poor delivery to begin the spell for Saini. He delivers a full ball on the pads and Dhawan whips it across the line and deposits it behind square leg for a biggie.
4.5 : 4.5: N Saini to S Iyer, FOUR! Once again a poor ball. On the pads, easy pickings for Iyer. He flicks it through wide mid on and it races away to the fence. 50 is up for the hosts and it has come up in quick time!
5.2 : 5.2: U Yadav to S Dhawan, FOUR! Straight down the ground! Uses his feet and converts it into a full ball. Dhawan smashes it down to the long on fence.
6.3 : 6.3: Y Chahal to S Iyer, SIX! That is out of here! Excellent shot because he has played this against the turn. This is a flighted leg spinner on the pads, Iyer muscles it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
8.4 : 8.4: N Saini to S Dhawan, FOUR! This time he gets it away from the short mid-wicket fielder. No one in the deep so a boundary. Short and around middle, Dhawan goes back and pulls it hard. Into the 40s is the opener.
10.2 : 10.2: M Stoinis to S Dhawan, FOUR! Cheeky! Excellent innovation! Dhawan moves right across, looks to play the paddle. Connects well and it goes to the fine leg fence.
12.2: Y Chahal to S Dhawan, OUT! Soft dismissal for Dhawan! Chahal delivers a leggie on the fuller side and wide outside off, Shikhar kneels down to play the sweep shot but has to fetch it from out there. Ends up top edging it towards short fine leg where Washington Sundar takes the simplest of catches. End of a fine knock by Dhawan and his 68-run stand with skipper Iyer is also over. Now, it's over to middle order to capitalize on this start.
13.6 : 13.6: W Sundar to R Pant, FOUR! The last ball spoils the over! Short and on middle, it sits up to be hit. Pant goes back and pulls it in the gap in the mid-wicket region for a boundary. 9 from this one.
14.1 : 14.1: Y Chahal to S Iyer, SIX! A boundary to end the last over and a biggie to begin this one. Dances down the track and stays inside the line of the ball. He whips it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
14.3 : 14.3: Y Chahal to S Iyer, SIX! JUST OVER! Top shot again! Shreyas uses his feet and goes towards the mid-wicket region. It is not off the middle but since the boundaries are short, it carries all the way. He also, brings his 50 up in style. The skipper needs to continue.
14.5 : 14.5: Y Chahal to R Pant, OUT! Three reds and Delhi lose their only review. Not sure why that was taken as it looked out. Big wicket this as Pant could be very dangerous towards the end. Chahal bowls this around off and gets this one to turn back in. Pant looks to work it on the leg side but misses. The ball hits the front pad and an appeal follows. The umpire raises his finger. Pant reviews and replays show that the on-field call is the right one. No fireworks from Pant today. Bangalore need to
15.3 : 15.3: W Sundar to S Iyer, OUT! Iyer follows Pant! Two wickets in quick succession and now Delhi have two new batsmen out in the middle. Just what Bangalore would have wanted. Iyer maybe should have delayed the big shot after losing Pant in the previous over. He does not do so, looks to whip this one over the mid-wicket fence but ends up hitting it flat towards Kohli in the deep who takes an easy catch. Delhi from 103 for 1 are 129 for 4 now. Bangalore back into the contest.
16.3: N Saini to C Ingram, FOUR! CLUBBED AWAY! What a shot! Brute! Short and around off, Ingram smashes it over the bowler's head. It bounces once before crossing the ropes.
16.4 : 16.4: N Saini to C Ingram, SIX! Another top shot! The slower one but it is a little too full outside off. Ingram waits for it and then eases it over covers. The connection is such that the ball carries all the way. So the two dots are followed by a boundary and a biggie.
16.5 : 16.5: N Saini to C Ingram, OUT! Now a wicket! Saini has the last laugh. Ingram tries to be innovative but it does not come off. He moves right across and looks to paddle however, there is no pace on the delivery. He fails to get it over short fine leg where Sundar moves to his left and takes it. Half the side back in the hut for the hosts and now Bangalore are into the bowling all-rounders.
17.3 : 17.3: M Stoinis to S Rutherford, SIX! This has gone the distance! Stoinis is on the shorter side around off, Rutherford hangs on the back foot and packs a punch. Dismisses it over mid-wicket for a biggie.
18.2 : 18.2: U Yadav to A Patel, FOUR! Poor ball and it has been put away! Short and on the body, Axar helps it on its way over the short fine leg fielder and bags a boundary. Can't bowl there with fine leg up.
18.4 : 18.4: U Yadav to S Rutherford, SIX! In the slot and that is into the stands! Full and on middle, Rutherford clears his front leg and tonks it over the mid-wicket fence. 11 from the over with two balls to go.
18.6 : 18.6: U Yadav to A Patel, FOUR! CRUNCHED! 16 from the over! A huge one! Back of a length and on off, Axar waits for it and then punches it past covers. The man in the deep dives and tries to stop it but fails to do so.
19.2 : 19.2: N Saini to S Rutherford, EDGY FOUR! Delhi won't care though. It is full and outside off, Rutherford throws his bat at it. The ball flies off the outside edge and past Patel once again to the third man fence. 8 from the first two balls.
19.4 : 19.4: N Saini to A Patel, FOUR! ANOTHER STREAKY BOUNDARY! A full toss, Axar looks to whip it over the leg side but the ball flies off the outside edge, over point and into the fence. 180 is up and two balls still left.
19.6 : 19.6: N Saini to S Rutherford, SIX! BOOM! A biggie to end! What a shot that is. It is a one-handed biggie. 20 from the last over. A low full toss outside off, Rutherford slices it right off the middle. It carries all the way over the point fence. DELHI END ON 187!
0.5 : 0.5: I Sharma to P Patel, FOUR! EDGY! First for them. That was a wild hoick by Patel. It was angling away from him. The ball flies off the outside edge and over the keeper for a boundary.
0.6 : 0.6: I Sharma to P Patel, FOUR! This one is right off the middle. Two boundaries to end the first over and it is the perfect start for the visitors. Slightly fuller in length and on off, Patel smokes it over mid off and bags a boundary. His intentions are clear, he is going after the bowlers straightaway.
1.2 : 1.2: A Patel to P Patel, SIX! Into the crowd! The left-hander will fancy his chances against the left-arm spinner. Patel walks in and then nails the slog sweep over the square leg fence. The little man is dealing in boundaries.
2.1 : 2.1: S Lamichhane to P Patel, FOUR! No fielder there and it is a boundary! On the pads, Parthiv goes down on one knee and sweeps it over the square leg fielder. Ideal start to this over as well.
2.2 : 2.2: S Lamichhane to P Patel, FOUR! Parthiv is toying with the field here! The deep mid-wicket was moved to deep square leg. Sandeep tosses this up on middle, Parthiv this time, whips it over mid-wicket for another boundary. Raining boundaries here.
2.5 : 2.5: S Lamichhane to P Patel, FOUR! Sweet timing! Excellent this from Patel. He removing all the pressure off Kohli. This is full and on the pads, Patel flicks it through mid-wicket. It is in the gap and the ball reaches the fence for the third boundary in the over.
3.1 : 3.1: K Rabada to P Patel, FOUR! Parthiv is in red-hot form! Wow, this is an extraordinary shot. Rabada keeps his length full and outside off, Patel with minimum footwork reaches out for it and drills it through the gap between extra cover and mid off. Not a single muscle moved in the field.
3.4 : 3.4: K Rabada to V Kohli, FOUR! Master at work! Rabada delivers it on a good length around off, Kohli stays grounded inside the crease and packs a punch down the ground for a boundary. Best batsman versus best bowler and this battle is worth watching.
4.3 : 4.3: I Sharma to V Kohli, SIX! Stand and deliver! Kohli gets into the act now. This is angled into the batsman, it is on a length. Kohli stands tall and lofts it with ease over the long on fence for a biggie. 50 up for Bangalore and they have scored it in very quick time.
4.5 : 4.5: I Sharma to V Kohli, MISFIELD AND FOUR! Poor from Rabada, he succumbs under pressure there. Kohli works this towards him at mid on and sets off for a run. Rabada looks to get to the ball and pick it up quickly but takes his eyes off. The ball sneaks under his hands, Iyer from mid off gives it a chase but finishes second best.
5.4 : 5.4: K Rabada to P Patel, FOUR! Parthiv seems to be in some form here! This is creamed! Full and outside off, he loves it there. He leans into it and smashes it through covers for a boundary.
5.5 : 5.5: K Rabada to P Patel, OUT! TAKEN! Parthiv's excellent innings has come to an end courtesy a brilliant catch. He would feel hard done though as he has absolutely nailed it. Parthiv makes room and it is bowled shortish and on off, Patel slashes at it. It flies towards point where Axar takes a tumbling catch to his left. Rabada has a big smile on his face, surely wasn't expecting a wicket off this ball. A much-needed breakthrough for the hosts but one would feel, Patel has done his job. 125 mor
7.2 : 7.2: A Patel to V Kohli, OUT! STRAIGHT TO THE MAN! Kohli can't believe it! He stands there in disbelief but then has to start walking back. This is a huge breakthrough for the hosts and the way they are celebrating it, shows what it means to them. A bonus wicket to be honest. A nothing delivery, short and angled into the batsman. Kohli could have hit it anywhere but he ends up pulling it straight to the man at deep mid-wicket. Rutherford there takes it with ease. Bangalore now in a spot of bothe
8.6 : 8.6: A Mishra to de Villiers, SIX! Walloped! Mishra drops it short and on middle, de Villiers swivels on the back foot and rifles his pull shot deep into the stand at square leg for a biggie. 11 from the over along with a dropped catch.
9.5 : 9.5: A Patel to S Dubey, SIX! JUST OVER! Excellent shot by Dubey! This is bowled way outside off, SD manages to go down on one knee and drag it over wide long on who leaps and tries to catch it but the ball goes just over him.
10.6 : 10.6: S Lamichhane to S Dubey, SIX! Dubey dealing in maximums here! Once again we see the last ball spoiling the over. Slightly short and on middle, Dubey goes back quickly and pulls it over the mid-wicket fence. 87 needed in the last 9 overs.
11.3 : 11.3: S Rutherford to de Villiers, OUT! No he has not! That is a top, top catch by Axar to get rid of the man who probably Bangalore had pinned their hopes on. Once again, this is a nothing delivery, it is short and on middle, however, the slowness in the wicket does the trick for Rutherford. De Villiers looks to pull it but does not get it off the middle. It is off the toe-end. For a moment it seemed as if it would go all the way but Axar at deep mid-wicket takes it, he then does extremely well
12.2 : 12.2: A Mishra to H Klaasen, OUT! Klaasen departs as well! Delhi are all over Bangalore like a rash. And this is an excellent catch from Rishabh Pant. A lovely leg spinner from Mishra, it lands full around off and turns away a shade. Klaasen opts to play the cheeky paddle scoop but it takes the toe end of his bat and bounces off his helmet to the leg side. Pant is aware to the situation and immediately runs across to catch the ball with a dive. They appeal and the finger has gone up. 80 more nee
12.6 : 12.6: A Mishra to S Dubey, OUT! Two wickets in the over for Mishra and this time the southpaw is on his way back. Yet again it's a good catch in the field for Delhi. A googly around off, Dubey has not picked it and blindly swings his bat across the line in the hope to heave it over mid-wicket. But the ball spins away to catch the top edge and Dhawan moves swiftly across to his left from point to complete the catch by stretching his hands out. The thigh-five follows and Delhi are roaring! Outstan
14.4 : 14.4: A Mishra to M Stoinis, FOUR! Need a lot of these. A very good shot this. It is tossed up on off, Stoinis leans into it and strokes it over the bowler's head for a boundary.
15.2 : 15.2: S Lamichhane to M Stoinis, SIX! That is huge! As easy as you like. A little too full by Sandeep and he pays the price. Stoinis lofts it over the bowler's head and it goes a long way into the stands.
16.1 : 16.1: I Sharma to Singh Mann, FOUR! This is what Mann needs to do! Boundaries is the call of the hour and he finds one. Shuffles in and then flicks it through square leg. No one in the deep and a boundary results.
16.4 : 16.4: I Sharma to Singh Mann, SIX! FLAT! That has hit the ropes on the full. Poor ball though, it is on a length. Mann clears his front leg and then whips it through mid-wicket. It goes all the way. Mann now getting into his own. 12 from the over so far with two balls to go.
16.5 : 16.5: I Sharma to Singh Mann, FOUR! Make that 16 with one ball to go. Bangalore are right back in this. A fortunate boundary but they won't care. This is outside off, Mann looks to hit it over the leg side but the ball hits the top edge and flies over short third man. 36 needed in 19.
18.4 : 18.4: I Sharma to Singh Mann, OUT! That has stuck in the webbing. Delhi have taken some excellent catches today and this is probably the best of them. Ishant bowls this one full and outside off, Mann looks to go big but only manages an outside edge. The ball flies to the right of Pant who dives and sticks one hand out. The ball manages to stay in. The dangerous looking Mann is gone.
19.2 : 19.2: K Rabada to W Sundar, OUT! Sundar holes out! Rabada gets another. The slower one on the fuller side, WS looks to clear the long on fence. Gets more height than distance and Iyer there takes it.
19.4 : 19.4: K Rabada to M Stoinis, SIX! That has been nailed! Short and on the body, Stoinis picks it, waits for it and then sends it sailing into the mid-wicket stands.
