0.2 : 0.2: Deepak Chahar to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! Just past mid on. Full and around off, Mayank strokes it uppishly and just over the diving mid on fielder. A boundary.
0.4 : 0.4: Deepak Chahar to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! There is a fielder there but he can only watch. Chahar strays with a fuller ball down the leg side, Agarwal clips it nicely, wide of the deep backward square leg fielder. Gets another boundary.
2.3 : 2.3: Deepak Chahar to KL Rahul, SIX! The first six. Full and swinging away outside off again, Rahul slashes hard at it. Gets a thickish outside edge. The ball flies over the deep backward point fence.
3.2 : 3.2: Sam Curran to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! There was nobody in the deep and that produces a boundary for Agarwal. Outside off, Mayank throws the bat at it. Gets it over backward point for a boundary.
3.6 : 3.6: Sam Curran to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! Opens the gap for a four. Full and on the pads, Agarwal flicks it uppishly and well wide of the mid on fielder. The ball races away to the wide long on boundary.
4.1 : 4.1: Shardul Thakur to KL Rahul, FOUR! A boundary for KL Rahul. Full and on the pads, all too easy for him. He flicks it uppishly to the fine leg fence.
4.2 : 4.2: Shardul Thakur to KL Rahul, EDGED AND FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries for KL Rahul here. Fullish and outside off, Rahul throws the kitchen sink at it. Gets it over short third man off the outside edge for a boundary.
5.1 : 5.1: Lungi Ngidi to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! Just typifies the run of form that Mayank Agarwal has been in, in this season. Full and outside off, he lifts it over covers for a boundary.
5.2 : 5.2: Lungi Ngidi to Mayank Agarwal, OUT! BOWLED! Ngidi comes back well. Mayank Agarwal got a good little start. Now he has to walk back. Full and outside off, Agarwal looks to swing across the line but the ball was not of the right length. And he ends up paying for it, drags it onto his stumps. The party poopers, Chennai, getting into the act now.
5.5 : 5.5: Lungi Ngidi to KL Rahul, FOUR! Tahir is not happy with himself there. Full and around off, KL Rahul lets out a lovely drive through the covers. It is to the right of Tahir, the sweeper cover fielder. Tahir runs into that direction but puts a half-effort in stopping it. It manages to evasively trickle through for a boundary.
8.3 : 8.3: Lungi Ngidi to KL Rahul, OUT! TIMBER! It is a beautiful ball. A beautifull ball! Low full toss on off, KL Rahul swings across the line. It was not the right length to go for that shot but Rahul does not realize that. He goes for the shot and misses it altogether, and the off pole is knocked out.
10.4 : 10.4: Shardul Thakur to Nicholas Pooran, OUT! TAKEN! There is a wicket. Chennai are turning the match around. Shortish ball around off, not that short enough to go for a pull shot. Pooran though does that. He swivels and looks to pull. The ball has a touch of away shape as well. It takes the underedge of Pooran's blade and goes to the keeper. MSD takes a good catch. He and Thakur appeal for a caught behind and the umpire gives it. Nicholas does not opt for the review, he starts walking.
11.5 : 11.5: Imran Tahir to Chris Gayle, OUT! LBW! Up goes the finger. Gayle reviews that but on finding that he has not knicked that, he starts walking. Does not even bother to wait for the Ball Tracker to come in. Floated on middle and leg, it is the striaght ball, the one that does not turn. Gayle lunges to sweep but misses to get hit on the pads. Chennai appeal for a LBW and the umpire gives it. Gayle takes it upstairs but on seeing he did not nick it, starts walking. Three Reds further on the Ball
13.1 : 13.1: Deepak Chahar to Mandeep Singh, FOUR! He is an inventive player, Mandeep Singh. Good length ball around off, he swings across the line and sends it wide of the deep backward square leg fielder for a boundary.
13.6 : 13.6: Deepak Chahar to Deepak Hooda, FOUR! Looked like mid-wicket would get there, but he does not. Short ball, Hooda pulls at it. It was between deep square leg and deep mid-wicket. While it looked like the latter would get to it, he fails to cut it off. A boundary results.
15.5 : 15.5: Imran Tahir to Deepak Hooda, SIX! That is an over 80m six. Tossed up outside off, Hooda comes down the track and lofts it mightily over deep cover.
16.2 : 16.2: Ravindra Jadeja to Mandeep Singh, OUT! TIMBER! Well bowled, Sir Jadeja. Dhoni persists with Jadeja and that has worked wonders in the form of a wicket. That of Mandeep Singh. Tossed up on off, it skids on, Mandeep gets down to sweep but misses. But not the ball. It hits the off pole.
17.1 : 17.1: Lungi Ngidi to James Neesham, OUT! CAUGHT! Chennai showing their class, not just with the ball but also in the field. What a fantastic catch it was, by Ruturaj Gaikwad! Fullish on off, Neesham swings it high in the air. He wanted to clear the deep mid-wicket boundary but had more of the height and less of distance. It though looks to be falling safe in the mid-wicket region. But Ruturaj, who was at deep square leg, comes running in, dives and takes a splendid catch.
17.2 : 17.2: Lungi Ngidi to Deepak Hooda, SIX! That is hit to one of the bigger pockets in Zayed stadium. Full and outside off, Hooda moves a touch to the off side and swings it with all his might. Gets it well over the deep backward point fence.
17.4 : 17.4: Lungi Ngidi to Deepak Hooda, SIX! Goes on the off side again and gets a maximum. Ngidi bowls a full ball outside off, searching for the yorker. He misses his length and Hooda punishes him. Gets across the stumps and lofts it mightily over the deep cover region.
18.2 : 18.2: Shardul Thakur to Deepak Hooda, FOUR! WOW! That shot reminded us of Suryakumar Yadav. Full and on off and middle, the knuckle ball, Hooda goes inside out over extra cover and gets a boundary.
19.2: Lungi Ngidi to Deepak Hooda, FOUR! Nice shot again. Deepak Hooda was across the line of off stump even before the delivery came. The ball was full and outside off, he lofts it over extra cover. Faf du Plessis comes running in from wide long off but has no chance in stopping that. A boundary.
19.5 : 19.5: Lungi Ngidi to Deepak Hooda, SIX! That takes Punjab to over 150. Superb shot. On middle, fullish, Hooda swings it well over deep mid-wicket for a maximum.
0.6 : 0.6: James Neesham to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! Just beats the fielder for a boundary. Outside off on a good length, du Plessis stands tall and punches this through the covers. It is to the right of the sweeper cover fielder, Ravi Bishnoi. Ravi runs in that direction, puts in the dive but it sneaks under him and touches the ropes.
2.5 : 2.5: Chris Jordan to Ruturaj Gaikwad, SIX! So often these young batsmen come down the ground and still control the shot well, for a boundary. Shortish ball on middle, Gaikwad comes down the track and heaves it over deep square leg for a biggie.
3.4 : 3.4: James Neesham to Faf du Plessis, SIX! Nice premediation from du Plessis. Full ball on off and middle, Faf moves to the leg side and scoops it well over the keeper's head and well over fine leg.
4.1 : 4.1: Mohammed Shami to Ruturaj Gaikwad, FOUR! Lovely timing. He is a class act to watch. Slightly overpitched on off, Gaikwad leans beautifully and just pushes it right of the middle of his bat through covers for a boundary.
4.3 : 4.3: Mohammed Shami to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! Nicely played! Du Plessi comes down the track and takes it as a very low full toss. He hits it to the right of mid off. The fielder dives but cannot get anything on it.
5.1 : 5.1: Ravi Bishnoi to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! Faf welcomes Bishnoi with a boundary! Slightly overpitched on off, du Plessis drives it delightfully through covers for a boundary!
5.2 : 5.2: Ravi Bishnoi to Faf du Plessis, SIX! Now goes up and oover! Pressure on Bishnoi! Flighted around off, du Plessis lofts it over extra cover for a biggie.
7.6 : 7.6: Ravi Bishnoi to Ruturaj Gaikwad, FOUR! And the salt is rubbed into the wounds. Tossed up outside off, this is guided nicely through backward point for a boundary.
9.2 : 9.2: Chris Jordan to Faf du Plessis, FOUR! He has gone through with the shot, not timed that properly but still bags a boundary. Slightly overpitched outside off, Faf looks to go big over covers. He does not time it that well but still gets it over the infield and it races away for a boundary.
9.5 : 9.5: Chris Jordan to Faf du Plessis, OUT! TAKEN! KL Rahul completes the catch. Faf du Plessis found the spot to his pleasure a lot of times earlier on. Not this time though. It was a slower ball on middle, around 113 kph, Faf moves to the off side and looks to lap it over fine leg. Rahul sees that and he moves to his left, anticipating a catch of sorts. Faf laps it but does not get the timing as the ball was a slower one. Rahul moves to his left and completes a simple catch. Had it been a 131 kp
11.3 : 11.3: Ravi Bishnoi to Ambati Rayudu, FOUR! Nice shot from Rayudu. On the shorter side outside off, he cuts it firmly, to the right of point and bags a boundary.
13.6 : 13.6: James Neesham to Ruturaj Gaikwad, FOUR! The timing on that was exquisite. Full and slow outside off, Ruturaj waits for it patiently and guides it well in front of point. Pooran, at point, gives chase but the ball simply raced away to the fence. Chennai need 41 runs in 36 balls. Should be an easy task from here.
15.2 : 15.2: Ravi Bishnoi to Ruturaj Gaikwad, FOUR! BEAUTIFUL! Floated full around off, Rutu comes down the track and lofts it elegantly over covers for a boundary.
15.5 : 15.5: Ravi Bishnoi to Ruturaj Gaikwad, FOUR! Gaikwad has showed a really calm head in this chase. That brings up the 50 for him as well. Three in a row! Floated around off, Ruturaj lofts it over the covers again, a boundary results.
16.5: Chris Jordan to Ambati Rayudu, FOUR! Another great shot from Ambati Rayudu. Shimmies down the track and goes over the extra cover region and gets a boundary.
17.3 : 17.3: Mohammed Shami to Ruturaj Gaikwad, FOUR! Ruturaj gets into great position to play this shot. Short ball, he stands tall and pulls it over mid-wicket.
