0.0 : Warm welcome ladies and gentlemen for the second Test match between Bangladesh and Windies at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. The hosts registered a comprehensive win in the last match and would be eyeing to take revenge for their last series loss in West Indies with a 2-0 scoreline. Their spinners once again will be the hot property and it's needless to say, how the Windies batsmen deal with them will decide the fate of this game. A few injuries and suspension will result in some cha
Toss - Shakib Al Hasan wins the all-important toss and no prizes for guessing, BANGLADESH WILL BAT. A big relief for the home team as Mushfiqur Rahim is passed fit to play, however, he will not keep. In comes Liton Das to don the gloves and to accommodate him, Mustafizur Rahman is sacrificed. The other change being Shadman Islam, who will make his debut in place of inured Imrul Kayes. For Windies, there is one obvious change - Shannon Gabriel is out as he will be serving his one-match suspension
Pitch report - The outfield looks good and quick. The surface looks good as well. It's hard with a nice covering of grass. Seems like good batting conditions. Lots of runs to be scored. Win the toss and bat first, that's the way to go. No-brainer really.

Excellent end to the session for the touring team. Although it was owned by the hosts until the last ball. They won a good toss and their openers laid a strong platform. But just before the Drinks break, they lost Soumya Sarkar. The pitch was offering plenty of spin and bounce right from the beginning, and Roston Chase was the one to provide the initial breakthrough. Yet another partnership developed after that which also ended before the break. Losing Mominul Haque is a body blow to Bangladesh
Windies didn't bowl badly but they weren't too threatening, particularly the pacers. Also, compared to the regular spinners, Warrican and Bishoo, Chase looked more penetrative. They would like to get better with their lines and lengths post Lunch and create further inroads. The visitors already have been lucky twice that two promising partnerships got broken just in time. They just can't afford to let the batsmen settle in on this surface. Having said that, the Bangladeshi debutant, Shadman Isla

End of an absorbing day of Test cricket! We witnessed three well-fought sessions. Whenever Bangladesh looked like running away with the show, Windies bounced back by picking wickets. The first two sessions were shared but the last one owing to the 69-run partnership between Shakib and Mahmudullah gave Bangladesh the edge.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the all-important toss and had no hesitation in batting first. Debutant Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar provided them with a steady start but then Roston Chase hunted down the latter with a lovely off spinning delivery. Another partnership developed after that but just before the Lunch break, Kemar Roach picked up the prized scalp of Mominul Haque. Mohammad Mithun and Shadman joined forces to raise a 64-run stand post Lunch and the debutant went on to notch up a fine half

If Day 1 was about sharing sessions, Bangladesh have been selfish on Day 2. Came out with a very positive intent and hammered 128 runs in the morning in spite of losing Shakib Al Hasan. They find themselves in the driver's seat now and will have to thank the ongoing partnership between Liton Das and Mahmudullah. The pair has been ruthless, Liton in particular, and as a result, Bangladesh are only 13 short of the 400-run mark.
Windies started well initially but once Mahmudullah and Shakib started to counterattack, they went flat. Kemar Roach once again was the best bowler on show but he didn't receive much support from his partners. Given the nature of the pitch, their spinners have been a big disappointment. The tourists are staring down the barrel and need a big effort from hereon to turn things around. It's advantage Bangladesh going into the break. Do join us in a short while for the afternoon session.

Just when you think Windies are pulling things back, two of the Bangladeshi players stitch a 50-run stand. Mahmudullah took his time post Lunch but got to his 3rd Test ton eventually. Taijul Islam showing the crowd that he can bat as well. The duo have added 55 runs together and don't look like getting out.
For the Windies, the only solace for them is that they are just two wickets away from bowling out Bangladesh. Nothing seems to be working for them. Pace bowling has not been a problem but on a spin-friendly track, their spinners are not doing enough. Join us in a bit for the last session of the day.

18.2 : N Hasan to Hetmyer, Fires this one in, full and on middle, Shimron tries to flick but gets a little leading edge back to the bowler.
Appeal for an lbw! The finger has gone up. Shimron Hetmyer has opted for the DRS. Spinning too much?
18.3 : Hasan to Hetmyer, NOT OUT! Missing the stumps! Slower through the air by Naeem as he lands it full on middle. The ball spins away after landing as Hetmyer fails to block it with a straight bat. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal and the umpire agrees. 18.4 : N Hasan to Hetmyer, Quicker and on off, defended off the back foot.

23.6 : N Hasan to Dowrich, Spinning down the leg side, Dowrich tries flicking it but misses. That is it. STUMPS, DAY 2!
Yet another sorry batting performance by Windies. They were exposed badly by the spin pair of Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan and lost half their side inside 12 overs. Their lack of skill and temperament was once again on display as the Bangladeshi spinners steamrolled them. All the five wickets were bowled which also shows the accuracy with which the Bangla tweakers bowled, something the Windies bowlers failed to achieve.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh showed a lot of intent with the bat as they switched gears in the morning. Runs started to flow and they managed to form quite a few partnerships to reach 508. Mahmudullah stroked a patient century while the lower order also contributed to the cause. Windies' bowling was very dismal, mainly from their spinners as they failed to exploit the friendly conditions.
The hosts have really planned this Test match superbly. Batted sensibly without taking any unnecessary risk on Day 1 and then capitalized on it on the following day. After all the hard work put in by the batsmen, their bowlers have now turned on the heat and it's all Bangladesh at the moment. Windies have their backs to the wall and need a miracle to turn things around. The current pair has shown application, let's see how they do on Sunday. Do join us at 0930 local (0330 GMT) for all the action
... Day 3, Session 1 ...
Just reminding you all that Windies are batting on the same 22-yards as were the hosts. They just had no answer to the spin bowling of the Tigers. In the span of 12 overs, the visitors lost half their side and are staring down the barrel now. However, Hetmyer and Dowrich looked good out there last evening. They did the rescue act in the first innings of the previous match and now have to do more than that to get their team back in the game. Bangladesh, meantime, will look to make early inroads y
Pitch report - Tino Mawoyo says that the pitch has dried up and there are a few spots outside the off stump for the right-handers. He reckons that the ball will misbehave if it lands there. Ends by giving an advice that using the feet should help the batsmen.
Mahmudullah doing an interview is pleased that most of the batters did well. Adds saying that he is happy to contribute to the team. On the balls outside off, he mentions that he is working on it and neds to me more careful. On batting lower down the order he reckons that he has the freedom to express himself.
We are ready to get Day 3 underway. The Bangladeshi players have taken the field. Shimron Hetmyer and Shane Dowrich take the centre stage. Shakib Al Hasan will bowl the first over of the morning.
24.1 : Al Hasan to Hetmyer, Starts with a fuller length delivery in the line of the leg stump, Hetmyer flicks it in front of square leg and takes a run. It's important for Windies to stay positive and not get bogged down.
24.2 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Turn and bounce. It lands around off and spins away sharply, Dowrich watches the line closely before making a leave.
24.3 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, This one is darted in by Shakib, full and on off, Dowrich brings down a straight bat in defense.
24.4 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Beaten! This will happen a lot today. Shakib tosses this one in the air and lands it closer to off stump. Shane tries to defend the line but it spins away to beat the bat.
24.5 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Tossed up ball outside off, Dowrich makes a watchful leave.
24.6 : Hasan to Dowrich, Shout for an lbw! Not given. Probably it has not skidded back in enough. An arm ball landing outside off, Dowrich decides to make a leave yet again but it skids through the surface and raps him on the back leg. Shakib appeals but the umpire shakes his head. Impact wasn't an issue there as Dowrich wasn't offering any shot but as mentioned earlier, the ball didn't change its direction enough to make connection with the stumps. The replays confirm the same.
Mehidy Hasan to bowl from the other end.
25.1 : M Hasan to Hetmyer, SIX! That's positive. First ball of Mehidy and he deposits it in the stands. Fuller ball in line of the stumps. Hetmyer gets under it and lofts it over long on for a biggie.
25.2 : M Hasan to Hetmyer, Loopy ball around off, Hetmyer taps it to the off side.
25.3 : M Hasan to Hetmyer, Play and miss. A bit quicker outside off, Shimron looks to cut it but misses.
25.4 : M Hasan to Hetmyer, On middle, this time he blocks it well.
25.5 : M Hasan to S Hetmyer, Tossed up ball around off, Shimron plays it with a straight bat.
25.6 : M Hasan to Hetmyer, Given air over the stumps, Hetmyer blocks it out. Good comeback from Mehidy Hasan after going for the first ball six.
26.1 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Beaten first ball! Looking tentative, Shane. Tries to play the trajectory by lunging forward but is beaten by the away spin.
26.2 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Just short of the point fielder! An uncalled shot, this. Shakib gives this one some extra air and bowls it full and outside off. Dowrich is tempted into the drive but ends up slicing it in the air. Mehidy puts in a dive but it falls in front.
26.3 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Much better this time. Dowrich draws forward to a full ball and defends it watchfully.
26.4 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, FOUR! Good shot! No risk in that! Shakib drags his length short and bowls it around off. Shane pushes his weight on the back leg and punches it through point for a cracking boundary.
The batsman pulls out at the last moment, maybe someone walked in front of the sightscreen.
26.5 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Quicker through the air, a low full toss, played towards mid-wicket.
26.6 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Flights this time and pitches it full in line of the stumps, Dowrich leans forward and defends it with a straight bat.
27.1 : M Hasan to Hetmyer, Mehidy serves an off spinner around middle and off, from 'round the wicket angle, Shimron gets forward and defends it from the outer half of the bat.
27.2 : Hasan to Hetmyer, Vociferous appeal for an lbw, the umpire shakes his head. Shakib thinks of reviewing but is not convinced enough. A slide by the bowler, landing on middle and skidding down. Hetmyer fails to pick the variation, gets forward to defend and misses. He is thudded on the pads and they put in an unsuccessful appeal. Oh hello, the replays show that it's hitting the leg stump. Bangladesh have missed a trick there.
27.3 : Hasan to Hetmyer, OUT! Forget the last ball, Hetmyer is gone this time. Mehidy has his man. First delivery was an off spinner which took the outside half of the Hetmyer's bat. Then, it was a slider hitting the pads. And now again an off spinner which has dismissed Shimron. It's served in line of the middle stump and spins away after landing. Hetmyer tries hitting it across the line through mid-wicket but doesn't account for the away spin. It catches the leading half of the bat and lobs bac
Devendra Bishoo walks in next.
27.4 : M Hasan to Bishoo, Flatter on off, defended off the back foot.
27.5 : M Hasan to Bishoo, Tossed up ball on middle, turned off the pads to mid-wicket for a run.
27.6 : M Hasan to Dowrich, Fullish and on off, defended from the crease by Shane to end a successful over.
28.1 : Al Hasan to Bishoo, On the leg stump, Bishoo plays it with a straight bat.
28.2 : Al Hasan to Bishoo, Loopy ball on off, driven to the off side.
28.3 : Al Hasan to Bishoo, Darts this closer to the off pole, Bishoo is solid in his defense.
28.4 : Al Hasan to Bishoo, Beaten! Tossed up ball outside off, Bishoo is drawn forward to play it but cannot get bat to ball.
28.5 : Al Hasan to Bishoo, On middle and leg, Bishoo stays back and taps it near the short leg fielder.
28.6 : Al Hasan to Bishoo, Down leg, Bishoo tucks it away past short fine leg but refuses the single. Maiden from Shakib.
29.1 : M Hasan to Dowrich, Dowrich rocks back and taps this ball in front of him.
29.2 : M Hasan to Dowrich, A tad short outside off, enough time for Dowrich to pull it through mid-wicket for a run.
29.3 : M Hasan to Bishoo, Outside off, Bishoo tries to guide it past the slip fielder but cannot get it past him.
29.4 : M Hasan to Bishoo, OUT! What a catch! It stuck but still it is a good catch! A bit on the shorter side outside off, Bishoo goes to cut it but checks his shot a bit. Reaches for it and then ends up giving it to Shadman Islam at silly point. The ball hits his body and then Shadman manages to grab it. What a debut he is having and a sixth fifer for Mehidy Hasan.
Kemar Roach is in next.
29.5 : M Hasan to Roach, On leg stump, Roach looks to flick it but misses it completely to get his low on his pads.
29.6 : M Hasan to Roach, Roach works it down the leg side to square leg.
30.1 : Al Hasan to S Dowrich, Too full and outside off, pushed off the front foot to covers.
30.2 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, An arm ball on middle, Dowrich is on the front foot in defense but it takes the inside edge and rolls behind square leg for a run.

30.4 : Al Hasan to K Roach, Shakib drops a sitter in his followthrough! Tossed up ball on middle, Roach chips it straight back to the bowler who lets it through his hands. It goes behind and they cross for a run. Shakib just cannot believe it.
30.5 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Appeal for a catch! Not given. Turn and bounce for Shakib, Dowrich fails to defend and it probably goes off his body to first slip. A diving take there by the fielder but to no avail.
30.6 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Flighted on middle, swept behind square leg for a run.
31.1 : M Hasan to Dowrich, Flatter and a touch shorter on off, defended off the back foot.
31.2 : M Hasan to Dowrich, Skidding down, Dowrich turns it off his pads through square leg for one.
31.3 : M Hasan to Roach, OUT! Roach holes out! Can't blame him. You don't expect a lot from a lower order batsman when your main batsmen have not shown any application and temperament. Mehidy bowls a loopy one on middle, Kemar tries to slog it across the line but gets a top edge. Liton Das settles underneath it at long on and takes the skier safely. Hasan gets his sixth, can he take 8 just like Yasir did a few days ago?
Jomel Warrican is the new man in.
31.4 : M Hasan to Dowrich, Tossed up ball on middle, Shane is on the front foot and defends it.
31.5 : M Hasan to Dowrich, Plays it with the spin and works it behind square leg for a run.

32.1 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Lovely! The carnage continues in Mirpur. Tossed up ball on off, spins away from Dowrich who is ahead to block it.
32.2 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, In line of the Stump, this time Shane gets behind it and bunts it down.

32.4 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, This one bounces. Around off, curls away with extra bounce. Shane leaves it alone.
32.5 : Al Hasan to Dowrich, Around off, Shane guides it towards cover-point.
32.6 : Al Hasan to S Dowrich, Misses his length as he dishes out a short ball down leg, Dowrich pulls it over mid-wicket for a brace.
33.1 : M Hasan to Warrican, Errs it down leg, Warrican tries to flick it way but gets it off his thigh pad fine to fine leg. They take two leg byes.
33.2 : M Hasan to Warrican, Outside off, a lovely late delicate cut from Jomel towards deep backward point for three more runs.
33.3 : M Hasan to Dowrich, On middle and leg, tapped towards the bowler.
33.4 : M Hasan to S Dowrich, FOUR! Short again on middle and leg, Dowrich goes deep inside and pulls it through square leg for a boundary. He has certainly looked solid out there.

35.3 : M Hasan to Warrican, The batsman has played it towards mid-wicket. One run added to the total.
Review! Have Bangladesh got their man? Dowrich has been given out LBW! Looks out too. Let's have a look.
35.4 : M Hasan to Dowrich, OUT! Dowrich goes and that's the last hope for Windies. Arm ball on off, it comes back into Dowrich who looks to work it away. Gets beaten for spin and the ball goes on to hit his back leg. Bangladesh put in an appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Dowrich without any doubt takes the review. Replays show us that it would be clipping the leg pole. So the on-field call stays. Windies retain their review but they would have wanted Dowrich more. A gritty innings from the
Sherman Lewis is the number 11 batsman.
35.5 : M Hasan to Lewis, Best forward defense by a no. 11. Gets behind the ball and taps it to the off side.

Shout for an lbw! Not given and Shakib takes the referral. Height factor?
36.3 : Hasan to Lewis, Safe! Height is indeed a factor. Shakib delivers it with a round-arm action and lets it land around middle and leg. It spins away a bit after hitting the surface and Sherman is squared up in defense. It raps him high on the back leg, they appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Bangladesh take the referral and the replays show that it's going over the stumps.
Sherman Lewis is given out lbw this time. He has now referred it. Looks dead in front...
36.4 : Al Hasan to Lewis, OUT! Lewis is plumb in front! All over for Windies, shot out for 111! Shakib cleverly slips in an arm ball around off. Lewis has no idea about the variation. He gets forward in defense, looking out for the away spin but it skids through and hits him on the pads. They appeal and the finger goes up immediately. Sherman takes the DRS, just for the formality. The Ball Tracker shows three reds.
Bangladesh have enforced the follow-on! History has been made. This is the first time ever they have done so. A thoroughly dominant show by their spinners. Mehidy Hasan roared with a 7-wicket haul while Shakib Al Hasan claimed a 3-fer. Apart from a fifty partnership between Dowrich and Hetmyer, there was no fight shown by Windies. Badly exposed. No technique. No skill. No temperament. No application. They lacked the main ingredients to succeed in Test cricket. No doubt it was challenging, it was
0.1 : Al Hasan to Brathwaite, Loopy ball around off, Brathwaite gets low to block it.

0.5 : Al Hasan to Brathwaite, OUT! Oh dear! Shakib gets his counterpart once again. What is even happening? Fuller arm ball on off, skids inside. Kraigg shuffles across and looks to flick it away. Misses it completely and gets caught in front on his back leg. Shakib appeals and the umpire raises his finger. Brathwaite doesn't even bother reviewing it as he knows he is plumb. Now then, the replays, later on, show us that there might have been a faint inside edge before the ball hitting the pads. H
Shai Hope is the number 3 batsman.
0.6 : Al Hasan to Hope, On middle and leg, Hope turns it through mid-wicket to get off the mark.
1.1 : M Hasan to Hope, Full on middle, Hope once again gets it through that mid on region for a run.

1.3 : M Hasan to Hope, The ball strikes the batsman very low on the pads They pick up a single. Leg byes signalled by the umpire.
1.4 : M Hasan to Powell, Outside off, punched off the back foot by Powell towards mid off.
1.5 : M Hasan to K Powell, DROPPED! Loopy ball outside off, Powell comes down the track to block it but gets an outside edge towards the keeper. Rahim fails to collect it. It then rebounds towards the second slip fielder who too cannot hold onto it. Tough chance for him though.

2.1 : Al Hasan to Hope, Fuller ball in line of the stumps, Hope is solid in his defense.

3.4 : M Hasan to Hope, Fires one in on middle, it's worked through square leg for a run.
3.5 : Hasan to Powell, Half shout for an lbw! A slider landing around off, Powell is on the front foot in defense but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
3.6 : M Hasan to Powell, OUT! Stumped! This is inexplicable. Powell decided very early that he will use his feet. Maybe, the last ball was playing in his mind. Maybe, he didn't want to get caught napping inside the crease and get out either bowled or lbw. So, what does he do? He dances down the track even before the bowler has released the ball. All too easy for Mehidy. He bowls it wide outside off, Powell is already down the track and has no other option but to try and play at it. The ball howev

9.1 : M Hasan to Hope, Given air in line of the stumps, Hope plays it with a straight bat.
9.2 : M Hasan to S Hope, Well bowled. The one that goes away from the right-hander. Hope gets an outside edge towards Mahmudullah who dives to his right. Must have just fallen short of him though. They cross as the ball goes towards third man.

10.1 : T Islam to Ambris, Flighted delivery, landing full around off, Ambris draws forward in defense.
0.0 : Appeal for an lbw! Up goes the finger. Sunil Ambris wants to review the decision. That looked dead to the naked eye. Only an inside edge can save him...
10.2 : T Islam to Ambris, OUT! Ambris is a sitting duck there. Taijul needed just two balls to strike. He dishes out a well-disguised arm ball. Lands it around off and it skids off the surface. Ambris decides to stay inside the crease and play it across the line. But it stays low and strikes him low on the pads. They appeal and the umpire is in agreement. Ambris takes the help of the technology but nothing can be done there. You cannot be more plumb than this. No inside edge either to save you. W

A tossed up delivery outside off, full in length and turning away. Chase with a sorry footwork goes for a drive and hits it aerially to covers. Mominul takes a good low catch. His front foot never came forward to the pitch of the delivery. Four down already, this is the repeat telecast of last evening.

Action-packed morning session! It's Bangladesh, Bangladesh and only Bangladesh. 9 wickets in total fell. Mehidy Hasan was the star and the other spinners also played good supporting roles. Windies didn't put up much fight in the first innings and lost their remaining five wickets in a jiffy. After that, following-on, the script didn't change much. The only thing consistent with Windies at the moment is being consistently poor with the bat. Playing across the line, premeditating a shot, getting c

He did that successfully but there is a mid-wicket fielder present too. Shakib moves across to his left and grabs the catch with ease. The partnership which was blossoming is nipped in the
Shane Dowrich walks in next. He looked the most assured batsman for Windies in the first innings. A bit strange that he didn't get the promotion in the batting order. Anyway, now it's up to him and Hetmyer yet again. The same pair that started the day's play.

All over in the blink of an eye! Bangladesh have beaten Windies comprehensively to take the Test series 2-0! Dominance, that's the word to describe their performance. Their spinners were relentless and Mehidy Hasan was ruthless. He bagged a 12-wicket haul, his personal best in Tests and starred the day where 15 wickets fell.
It was a pretty dismal show by Windies. They didn't benefit much from the Test series in India. Their batsmen lacked the required skill and technique to play spinners and were exposed. Application and temperament, two key characteristics to succeed in Test cricket were also missing. Bangladesh's skipper, Shakib Al Hasan is chosen for the Player of the Series award. Says that this is something he and the coaching staff want from the team. He is thrilled with the overall team effort. Points that every time the batsmen who got in tried to make it count. Praises all the spinners for the way they bowled in this Test match and gives a special mention to Mehidy Hasan.
