0.0 : ... MATCH DAY ...
Welcome, folks! It's yet another quick turnaround in the series with back-to-back matches. The feeling of a series win over Australia would not have sunk in for Bangladesh completely and here they are, getting ready to lock horns with the Aussies in the 4th T20I in Dhaka. In a way, the hosts won't mind turning up so quickly as they have the momentum and the motivation for a clean sweep. Australia have two matches left to salvage some pride after a dismal three games. Their batting continues to b
Before the start of this tour, Bangladesh had never beaten Australia in this format and the visitors led the head-to-head battle 4-0. It's now narrowed down to 4-3 and the Bangla Tigers have a golden opportunity to not only bag a whitewash but also sneak ahead in the H2H record.
Australia's plight with the bat on a slowish deck has continued. They struggled recently in West Indies and now Bangladesh have kept those scars open. This is the worst possible preparation a team can have before the T20 World Cup. Agreed that Australia are without their first-choice players on this tour but we are not sure how the big guns would have fared in these conditions after all the spin woes for them have existed for a decade if not more.
Bangladesh (Unchanged Playing XI) - Mohammad Naim, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah (C), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan (WK), Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed.
Australia (Playing XI) - Matthew Wade (WK/C), Ben McDermott, Mitchell Marsh, Moises Henriques, Alex Carey, Ashton Turner, Dan Christian, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye (In for Nathan Ellis), Mitchell Swepson (In for Adam Zampa), Josh Hazlewood.
Pitch report - This surface was used for the second match and is pretty hard. Lots of rolling have gone on and 130 will be a good score.
Toss - Mahmudullah has won the toss and BANGLADESH ELECT TO BAT! The Bangla skipper says that they are not really over the moon and need to stay grounded and play good cricket. Adds that the pitch will be the same as before and they will have to execute their skills. Matthew Wade says that they are disappointed with their performance so far and it's another opportunity for them and they are keen to turn it around. Informs about a couple of changes with Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis rested.
The players concerned are out in the centre. Mohammad Naim and Soumya Sarkar are the openers for Bangladesh. The latter has had a torrid time so far in this series and needs to redeem himself. Australia are beginning with the spin of Ashton Turner. Here we go...

19.5 : Shoriful Islam comes out.
19.6 : Bangladesh never got going in their innings and they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. They lost their first one early and then Shakib Al Hasan struggled big time. There was nothing much from Mahmudullah, Nurul Hasan and Afif Hossain. At one stage, they looked like they will not even reach 100 but Mahedi Hasan's cameo has got them to 104. It may not be enough but with the way they have bowled in this series, they might have an outside chance.
An excellent bowling performance from Australia! They have restricted Bangladesh to just 104 in their 20 overs and they will be pleased but their batting has not done them favours in this series. They would hope that they can come good to chase this down and get their first win of the series. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be disappointed with their batting performance. The hosts would need to put up another good show with the ball if they want to make it 4-0.
19.1 : Andrew Tye to Mahedi Hasan, DROPPED! A good attempt from Josh Hazlewood though. A length ball around off, slower in pace, Mahedi shuffles across to glance it on the leg side but gets a top edge. 19.2 : Andrew Tye to Mahedi Hasan, FOUR! A much-needed boundary for Bangladesh. Can they touch 100 now? Fuller in length and around off, Mahedi goes hard with the swing of his bat and inside edges it through backward square leg for a boundary.
19.3 : Andrew Tye to Mahedi Hasan, SIX! 100 up for Bangladesh! Short in length and around off, Mahedi stands tall to receive this delivery and pulls it all the way over square leg for a maximum.

19.6 : Andrew Tye to Shoriful Islam, OUT! Another wicket to finish off the innings! Back of a length delivery around leg, Shoriful Islam hangs back to heave it across the line but doesn't get the distance. Ben McDermott keeps his eyes on the ball and grabs it safely at deep mid-wicket. 14 runs and a couple of wickets from the final over, Bangladesh finish on 104/9!
Australia were top notch with the ball! Everyone did a terrific job and they have a good chance of winning their first game. Ashton Turner did a pretty good job in his 4 overs while Ashton Agar was good as well. Mitchell Swepson, playing his first game on this tour, was the standout bowler as he picked up three and completely foxed the batsmen out there. Andrew Tye and Josh Hazlewood were tidy as well. Now it is up to their batsmen to get the job done. They have struggled in this series but this

0.3 : Mahedi Hasan to Matthew Wade, Quicker this time, full and on off, Wade defends it by getting foward.
0.4 : Mahedi Hasan to Matthew Wade, OUT! SOUND OF TIMBER! Mahedi hurls in a slider around off, at 95 clicks, it lands around off and zips off the surface. Wade is on the front foot, looking to defend but his bat is way away from the line of the delivery. A big gap between bat and pad and it's a safe passage for the ball to sneak through and destroy the stumps behind. Another dismal outing for Wade!
Dan Christian is the next man in.
0.5 : Mahedi Hasan to Dan Christian, Straightaway Christian shows intent. Flighted delivery, full and outside off, Dan lofts it over extra cover and opens his account with a couple of runs.

3.5 : Shakib Al Hasan to Dan Christian, SIX! Dan Christian is on a roll here. Brutal. Full and flighted, right in the slot around off, Dan gives it the full whack of his bat and dispatches it over long on.
4.1 : Nasum Ahmed to Ben McDermott, Loopy and full on middle, worked on the leg side for a run at mid-wicket.
4.2 : Nasum Ahmed to Dan Christian, Too full in length on off, forced down to long off for one.

The tourists decided to throw caution to the wind in the run chase as they sent Dan Christian up the order at number 3. His knock turned out to be vital as the Aussies lost the plot after that but the required rate never bothered them.

The Bangla bowlers once again were very impressive. Mahedi Hasan and Nasum Ahmed's 8 overs combined squeezed the life out of the Australian chase and had Shakib Al Hasan not gone for 50 runs in his 4 overs, the picture could have been different. A word of praise for Mustafizur Rahman, he was exceptional yet again and in hindsight, Mahmudullah brought him too late when the stand between Ashton Turner and Ashton Agar was prospering. Still, you have to say, well-tried Bangladesh, although a golden
In a run chase of 105, Australia found themselves in a good position when Dan Christian expressed himself with the bat. They were cruising inside the Powerplay but after his departure, once again it was a steady procession for the Aussies. From 47/1 to 65/6, the touring team pushed themselves into a hole and had the Ashtons not combined for a valuable 34-run alliance, it would have been yet another embarrassing loss for the Kangaroos on this tour.
Time for the presentation...
Mahmudullah, the captain of Bangladesh, says that it was always difficult to chase and feels they didn't assess the wicket well as it was 120-130 surface and they were a few runs short. Praises the bowlers for stretching the match to the 19th over and as a batting unit, Mahmudullah feels that they need to be cautious and sensible. Mentions that the surface used in this match was the hardest so far and wants to look forward and maximize their opportunity in the batting order. Admits that Dan Chr
THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH IS MITCHELL SWEPSON! The leggie says that it was nice to get the nod to play and the conditions were nice to bowl. Shares that he has not experienced these conditions back home. Tells that on a wicket like this he found it hard to let the ball go straight and he was trying to be accurate and hit the stumps. On his mindset when he was on a hat-trick, Swepson replies that he forgot he was on a hat-trick but in hindsight, it was a good ball but the batsman got a bat on it.
That's a wrap to the fourth T20I. Australia have avoided the ignominy of a whitewash with this victory and would be now aiming to make it 3-2 before flying home. Bangladesh though would want to hold the trophy after winning for one final time in the series. Who will come out on top? Do join us on Monday, 9th August 2021 to find out. The first ball will be at 6 pm local (12 pm GMT) but you can join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Earlier in the day, Mitchell Swepson led Australia's charge with the ball and played an important role in restricting Bangladesh to a paltry total. Ashton Agar and Ashton Turner played their part with the ball as well, while Josh Hazlewood continued to impress with his accuracy. It was the bowling effort that didn't allow Bangladesh to score more than 104, otherwise, you know what would have happened.
Matthew Wade, the Aussie skipper, smiles and says that they have worked hard in the last few games and it was nice to get the result. Calls the knock of Dan Christian as the difference between winning and losing. Shares that the move to send him at number 3 was planned this morning as they needed to find some runs at the top as finding the runs at the backend was proving to be tough. Mentions that Christian is is a terrific hitter and thankfully he did the job. States that it would have been ni
