There were murmurs regarding his form with the bat but he has played a well-compiled knock to put all the talks to rest. Can he take India to a stronger position from here? With this wicket, it is Lunch on Day 3.
3.1 : 3.1: Umesh Yadav to Joe Burns, OUT! CAUGHT! This time Burns has to go. A superb delivery from Yadav. This one pitches just around off and then goes away just a hint. Burns has to play at it. 32.2 : 32.2: Jasprit Bumrah to Steven Smith, OUT! TIMBER! Smith is not sure what happened but the bails are disloged! Smith has been bowled around his legs. He is not sure and is hanging around. A length ball around middle and leg, Smith shuffles across the off side, like he always does and tries to work this one on the leg side but he misses. That doesn't happen often but it has happened here. And the ball goes on to dislodge the bail from the leg and middle pole. Smith is not sure what happened as Bu
43.6 : 43.6: Ravindra Jadeja to Matthew Wade, OUT! LBW! Three reds and Wade departs. That looked plumb and Wade knew it but he took the review sensing the importance of this wicket. 9.4 : 9.4: Pat Cummins to Shubman Gill, FOUR! Another boundary for Gill. Full and wide outside off, he leans into the stroke and drills it through cover-point for a boundary. Brilliant batting.
10.6 : 10.6: Josh Hazlewood to Ajinkya Rahane, FOUR! SHOT! Super shot from Rahane! 50 is up for India. A fullish ball outside off, Rahane drills it through the covers for a boundary.
12.5 : 12.5: Josh Hazlewood to Shubman Gill, FOUR! Take that! Josh runs in and bowls a short ball on middle, Gill swivels and pulls it powerfully through mid-wicket. No chance for the man at deep square leg to get to it.
14.2 : 14.2: Marnus Labuschagne to Shubman Gill, FOUR! Whipped! 7th boundary for Gill already. Fuller and on the pads, Gill uses his wrists and whips it past the man at mid on. It races away to the fence.
