The name Chernobyl is associated with horrific image of the catastrophic nuclear accident that happened in a fateful summer day of April, nearly 30 years back.
Now, British documentary maker Danny Cooke has captured the landscape of Pripyat, a place nearby Chernobyl with a camera mounted on a drone.
The compilation titled Postcards from Pripyat, Chernobyl is the first time the area has been aerially shot. The video records an amusement park which was set to open days after the fatal accident happened. Time has come to a screeching halt in Chernobyl. According to Cooke, “There was something serene, yet highly disturbing about this place. Time has stood still and there are memories of past happenings floating around us.”
