At least 25 people were killed and over 50 injured as two subsequent explosions hit a densely populated part of Pakistan's Parachinar on Friday, it was reported.

As per reports in Pakistan daily Dawn,  an emergency has been imposed in the hospitals in the area, and the injured are being taken to the District General Hospital, Parachinar.

The twin blasts were reported to have occurred near Tal Adda, where a market and bus terminal are located. The second explosion took place as rescuers and bystanders rushed to aid those who had been hurt in the first explosion.

Security forces have cordoned off the affected site and are conducting a search operation.

This is the second blast in the day. The first explosion happened on Friday morning. when 15 people, including seven policemen, were killed by a suicide bomber. The incident took place when police stopped the car to search it at a checkpoint.

Abdul Razzaq Cheema, director general of police in Baluchistan province, of which Quetta is capital, told Reuters the bomber had detonated a car packed with explosives. 

Jamaat ur Ahrar, a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack in a message sent to Reuters by its spokesman, Asad Mansur.

The blasts took place at a market within three minutes of each another, senior government official Wazir Khan Wazir said.
