Indian shooters Saurabh Chaudhary, Abhishek Verma and Sanjeev Rajput added to India's medal tally on Tuesday, while India won its maiden medal in Sepak takraw at the ongoing 18th Asian Games. Divya Kakran then gave India another medal in wrestling winning a bronze.
India had a decent outing on Day 2 of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang on Monday. The country added one gold and two silvers to its medal tally, with wrestler Vinesh Phogat being the star performer of the day.
Higlights of Day 3 at 2018 Asian Games for India:
MEDAL Shooting: Saurabh Chaudhary wins gold for India in the men's 10m air pistol with a Games Record of 240.7. Abhishek Verma clinches in a bronze in the same event.
MEDAL Shooting: Sanjeev Rajput wins silver in the 50m rifle 3 positions event, giving India its third medal in shooting today.
MEDAL Sepak takraw: India settles for a bronze after losing to Thailand in the men's semifinals. However, they win the first ever medal in this sport for the country.
MEDAL Wrestling: Divya Kakran wins bronze in 68kg Freestyle category.
Swimming: Virdhawal Khade betters own national record to qualify for the men's 50m freestyle category. He, however, misses bronze by 0.01 seeconds to finish fourth.
Wushu: Medal assured for Naorem Devi who beat Pakistan’s Mubashra to move into semifinal. Three other India players were also assured of medals.
Hockey: India beat Kazakhstan 21-0 in women's hockey.
