Is Sachin Tendulkar the greatest Test batsman ever?

Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday became the first cricketer to score 50 Test centuries when he reached three figures in the first Test against South Africa at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

Tendulkar, who holds many Test and One-Day International batting records, is also the first cricketer ever to amass 14,000 runs in Tests. In fact, in his 22nd year in international cricket, he is less than 500 runs away from the 15,000 mark. He is also a mere four centuries away from completing 100 international hundreds.

For some, this is more than enough to anoint the Master Blaster the best cricketer ever.

But others, such as South African legend Graeme Pollock, believe Don Bradman remains the all-time greatest, because, as Pollock put it, "Bradman was 40 per innings better than others at the same time, on the same wicket. I still think Bradman is way ahead of anybody who ever played."

What's your opinion? Is Sachin Tendulkar the greatest batsman Test cricket has ever seen? Or is it simply unfair to compare cricketers from vastly different generations?
