And after Dhawan rolls his arm for an over...the match has come to a close.
Tamim (16*) and Kayes (7*) had a short jaunt at crease and made sure that Bangladesh head off from this contest heaving a sigh of relief.
Though the highlights of this test match would of course be Vijay and Dhawan's centuries in the first innings for India and also Ashwin's five-wicket haul, still Bangladesh can take heart from the fact that they did not crumble and wither without a semblance of a fight.
So as Day 5 and this test match ends...rain turns out to be the real winner at Fatullah!

But is it really necessary as India will now need a super human effort to skittle out Bangladesh again in super quick time.
Kohli has enforced the follow on as Bangladesh are 206 runs behind.
ALL-OUT! And Bangladesh's tenth wicket falls as Jubair (0) is run-out with Taijul (16*) going for an unnecessary second.
GONE! Harbhajan strikes this time around...and Shahid (6) departs after charging down the track aggresively and skying a catch into Dhawan's hands at mid-on.

He gains suitable revenge for his earlier hammering as another catch falls into Rohit's hands at leg-slip.

Litton's explosive innings ends in 45 deliveries, laced with 8 fours and one six.

BOOM BOOM! That is what Litton Das (38*) is doing and how!
He has smashed five fours and a six within a space of three overs and is really putting the Indian bowling to sword.
Ashwin especially bore the brunt as three fours and that six was hammered off his bowling.
Pace..spin..nothing is having the desired effect on Litton whois looking like a live ticking grenade ready to explode at every count.
Over 48
Ban - 176 for 5
And India hit back...and how!
Two quick wickets..both in-form batsmen Kayes (72) and Sarkar (37) have been sent packing by Harbhajan and Aaron respectively.
If Kayes was stumped after he charged down the track and was beaten by a shortish delivery which ensured that Saha whipped off the bails without any fuss, then Sarkar's attempted cut through the off was pulled on to his stumps.
Incidentally the two batsmen had given both Harbhajan and Aaron a tough time just a few minutes back.
Can India shoot out Bangladesh before the day ends?
Wait and Watch!

GOOD GOING! Kayes (71*) and Sarkar (33*) are going after the Indian bowlers particularly Harbhajan and Aaron.
Sarkar specially looks impressive as he isdealing with Harbhajan with some lightning quick foot-work and shot selection.
His boundary through mid-off is evidence enough of his growing confidence levels as each ball passes.
Over 37
Ban - 133 for 4
Meanwhile Kayes (63*) is running like a well oiled engine here.
Some superb stroke-play against the Indian bowlers has prepped up an otherwise drab contest.
Sarkar (8*) is also slowly but surely getting into groove as this cover-drive off Ashwin suggests.
Over 33

WICKET! And Ashwin has delivered the breakthrough for India as he entices an edge off Shakib to wicket-keeper Saha.
The ball reared up and as Shakib tried to cut it was well taken by Saha.
Good reflexes by the keeper...Shakib goes for 9.
Surprise..surprise...rains have subsided and the weather looks sunny with play set to be resumed shortly.
Even the pitch has bveen cleared off clogging and there will be a game which hopefully should give spectators something to root for.
So Kayes (59*) and Shakib (0*) will resume proceedings for Bangladesh in a short while.
Keep on reading!
Update is that play may resume on 12.45 pm...umpires have made another inspection and the super soppers are frantically at work.

And as Day 5 approaches, we have more rain here at Fatullah which has delayed play further.
Though Bangladesh still may bat out the entire day if rain subsides, still this may go down as one of the most boring test matches ever in cricket history.
Stay tuned for more updates.
Updates from Day 4 - Well what can we say apart from rain which marred the majority of Day 4.
Though Kayes' half-century made sure that Bangladesh got off to a flyer any chance of the viewers getting a result was washed out with the Mirpur weather.
And play has been called off (quite predictably!).
Light issues, wet pitch and rains have combined to make this test match a literal farce.
The only positive we can take from this day of cricket is that of India's spinners providing some much needed excitement with two quick wickets whereas Bangladesh can take solace from the fact that Kayes (59*) gave them a superb start with some scintillationg shots.
Haque on the other hand missed out on De Villers' record of scoring 12 consecutive 50+ scores in test cricket and will definitely rue on it.
India will aim to skittle out Bangladesh cheaply come the final day and a draw is very much the order of the day.
Another inspection a 4pm...well well the day's play in all probability looks set to be called off since the pitch resembles a sea here.
And a Twitter user here aptly sums up the scene at Fatullah!

And Tamim has got Bangladesh off to a flyer.
He is timing the ball well and also has become Bangladesh's highest run-scorer in test matches (3034 runs in 40 games).
Take a bow!
Even Kayes looks in pristine touch as he is middling the ball pretty well.
And India have tendered declaration with the score intact on 462 for 6.
With two full days (if the rain gods permit!) remaining can India pull off a sensational win in this test match?
With Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes walking in to bat...let us see how Bangladesh counter India's bowlers today.
Updates from Day 3 - India had finished on 462 for 6 on a rain marred day with Vijay making a fine 150.
Shakib shined for Bangladesh with a four wicket haul which was their sole positve.
Harbhajan and Ashwin will resume proceedings for India on Day 4
So as Day 3 ends, the Mirpur weather played spoilsport again with numerous rain interruptions.
Though Dhawan departed after a superb 173, Vijay made Bangladesh grind with his 150 and even Rahane looked rock-solid and was unlucky to be dismissed on 98.
Bangladesh's only positive was a quikc spurt of wickets when Shakib dismissed both Rohit and Virat and ended up with a four-wicket haul.
Cometh Day 4, it is still India in the drivers seat and it would be interesting to see as to how Bangladesh counterattack.
So come Day 4, it remains to be seen as to whether the game will teper out to a draw or will India go full throttle at Bangladesh.
Harbhajan (7*) and Ashwin (2*) walk off and India will hope that they get quick runs on the board come Day 4 and try and skittle out Bangladesh twice within two days.
Frequent rain interruptions have ensured that the test remains a watershed one.
And the umpires have decided that play be called off for the day.
It may be a surprise if this test sees Bangladesh getting to bat out one full day atleast on Day 4 or 5.
And it is raining (again!)...play gets delayed once more.

Bangladesh have a huge task at hand if they are to stop the Indian batting juggernaut and it will be interesting to see whether the home side can atleast show some spunk in their bowling on Day 2.
So it was all India from start to finish as the visitors powered by Dhawan and Vijay's clever batsmanship have ensured that they have given Bangladesh a mountain to climb come Day 2.
If Vijay was more workman like in his laboured 89*, Dhawan called the shots with a fine 150* which means the duo will have another go at Bangladesh's bowlers come Day 2.

------------------------------------------------
Welcome to LIVE coverage of the first test match between Bangladesh and India at Fatullah.
Led by Virat Kohli, India will look to upstage Bangladesh in their own den and show who really is the boss in the test match arena.
Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha on the other hand has raised concerns about the nature of pitch and believes that it will not be a true sporting wicket.
Also skipper Mushfiqur Rahim is of the beilef that the game will be a 50-50 contest and is confiedent of his team giving India a good fight.
Thanks to the nature of the track, Bangladesh will in all probablity field two pacers and a spinner for the contest and it will be interesting to see as to how they can deal with the world class batting line-up led by Kohli.
So as it stands the game definitely looks for the taking for India who look poised to clinch it despite being in away territory.
