WWE Payback Match Predictions: Seth Rollins, John Cena will emerge winners

Monday morning will showcase WWE Payback on Ten Sports from Maryland, USA, at 6 am IST. There are eight matches on the card. Here are our predictions for each match:

1) Damien Sandow (Macho Mizdow) and Curtis Axel (Axelmania) v/s The Ascension: This match will happen on the pre-show. Both Sandow and Axel have really cool gimmicks right now, and The Ascension is universally seen as a disappointment. Expect Sandow and Axel to win for the pleasure of the fans.

Winners: Sandow and Axel

2) King Barrett v/s Neville: Barrett is fresh of a King of the Ring win, while Neville is super hot and way over with the crowds. However, he has already beaten Barrett at Extreme Rules. While the WWE Universe might root for Neville, Barrett might pick up the win to solidify himself as a major heel. There will be a dirty finish.

Winner: King Barrett

3) Naomi and Tamina v/s The Bella Twins: No one has much interest in this match - it is your toilet break match. A win for the faces Naomi and Tamina makes more sense, with Paige coming back soon.

Winner: Naomi and Tamina

4) Sheamus v/s Dolph Ziggler: This is one of the matches to look forward to on the card. Ziggler defeated Sheamus at Extreme Rules in a 'Kiss my Arse' match, but instead of Sheamus doing the honours, he attacked Ziggler and humiliated him. Though Sheamus should get his comeuppance, the Celtic Warrior has been booked as a sadistic heel since his return. A loss would hurt his momentum.

Winner: Sheamus

5) Ryback v/s Bray Wyatt: Bray Wyatt recently lost to the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, and wrestling Ryback is two steps back for the 'New Face of Fear'. This feud is arbitrary - instead of putting Wyatt in main events, WWE continue to waste him in upper midcard feuds. But if Wyatt has to retain some credibility, he must beat Ryback at Payback.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

6) The New Day v/s Cesaro & Tyson Kidd for WWE Tag Team Titles (Two out of Three Falls): Tyson Kidd and Cesaro have formed a popular team. However, The New Day are doing well as heels and have recently won the Tag Team Titles. They have been generating good heat for their overtly positive antics and look every part the heel champions. It would be a mistake to take the titles off them right now.

1st Fall: Tyson Kidd and Cesaro

2nd Fall: The New Day

3rd Fall: The New Day

Winners: The New Day

7) Rusev v/s John Cena for US Title (I Quit Match): It is difficult to believe that Rusev can win. He has lost twice to Cena already, and then, Cena never quits. Expect some cheating though - a recorded John Cena voice saying I Quit, a Lana interference etc. But Cena will emerge the winner in the end. Lana is due for a face turn as is being touted as the next big face manager - so she must turn on Rusev to make him lose.

Winner: John Cena

8) Seth Rollins v/s Randy Orton v/s Roman Reigns v/s Dean Ambrose (WWE World Heavyweight Title): Seth will win. Seth has to win. The heel champion is the top villian in the WWE today, on a magnificent ascent. It would be unwise to take the championship off him at the moment. It should stay around his waist at least until Summerslam, when Brock Lesnar can return. The other stipulation in this match is that Director of Operations Kane will lose his job if Seth Rollins loses.

But how do you book this match? WWE has developed a knack of booking main events well these days. One shocking end could be for the Shield to reunite by turning on Randy Orton, with Rollins keeping the title. But this would mean a lack of top babyfaces on the roster following Payback. The other way could simply be for Ambrose to somehow upset Kane enough to get attacked, following which Rollins pins him. It would keep Orton and Reigns strong - they could claim they were never pinned - and give Rollins the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins
