The unsung hero of South African cricket may never get a chance at the ultimate glory. Jacques Kallis’s dream to win a World Cup may never materialise, at least not as a player.
Kallis has an astounding horoscope with both planets ‘X’ and ‘Y’ in their deepest exaltation points, almost similar to Sachin Tendulkar. While Tendulkar also has Sun and Mars in exaltation that gave him a World Cup victory, a weak Sun and Mars has made Kallis a self effacing, quiet performer, robbing off his well-deserved accolades.
Kallis is currently going through the toughest Saturn period till the end of 2014. So, even if he will continue playing ODIs post retirement from Tests, his performances will not be inspiring and the selectors may not include him in the squad for 2015 WC. Even if he does get to play the WC, his performances would be far from exemplary. His fitness levels may be a cause of worry in this period as well. But all is not lost for Kallis. He can be a great coach and a fabulous commentator. He can even win a WC or T20 tournaments as a coach.
