The FIFA World Cup is the biggest sporting extravaganza on the planet. It is played with a lot of passion and, is arguably, the only tournament thing that can bring the world to a standstill. It will be impossible for me to stay away from the fun and excitement generated during the month-long carnival. The efforts put in by the footballers cannot be matched by any other clutch of sportspersons.
I am glad the World Cup will be held in Brazil, the spiritual home of football. Their fans are a demanding lot. I wish the home team wins this time. Brazil are oozing with talent and the home support will only add to their arsenal.
Let me be frank. I don't follow football on a regular basis. But when it comes to World Cup, everything changes. And let's thank Brazil for that. They play a fast-paced game which is simple, yet effective. I like the passion with which the Brazilians play in their canary yellow jerseys. They play 'Samba soccer'. Besides Brazil, I will follow the progress of defending champions Spain, too.
Having said so, you will be surprised to know that I have met France legend Zinedine Zidane. I also wish to meet the Ronaldo and Messi soon.
